    I’m going to see my doctor soon about fungal issues with my folliculitis. I’ve had a severe case on the back of my legs/bum for like 8 years. The only thing that has helped is Hibiclens so far.

      hey! Im in the exact same boat as you. Severe folliculitis on my back / legs / bottom for years and also use hibiclense. Nothing has worked for me but I’ve yet to try antibiotics. Have you tried them and if so did they help?

    Well here goes.....all my life I’ve suffered with “boils” in my groin areas, front to back. It seems after they get huge, burst, then heal, they always reappear. My GP says it genetics and there’s nothing I can do to prevent. I’m a very clean person and have tried everything. Please are you aware of this condition and have any suggestions for me? This would be life changing for sure. Thanks you so much in advance for your kind consideration.

      I know this is an old comment, but I had this too ever since puberty until now. And I know your pain! I started putting those pimple patches on any parts that were broken, or about to be broken open. They healed WAY faster and never got to that painful size where I could barely sit. :( It's probably because it provided a barrier, plus those patches draw out the stuff inside without making it dry. I also stopped with the acne products on that area as it just made it worse. 100% cotton undies. No picking or squeezing. Honestly, I thought it was because of my weight, but I lost 134 lbs and I still got them! And I had them when I was young and trim. Good luck to you!

      @@tara5742 thank you. I’ve never tried the patches but I’m going to get some ASAP. Can’t hurt, right as nothing else works.

    Dr. I have been battling folliculitis for 8 yrs. My scalp was horrible at one time. Huge bumps that I could squeeze out bumps. Now it's just like a regular acne bump break out. My pubic hair folliculitis is so painful. I use Hibiclenz. I have clindamycin pads, I take doxycycline. I'm at my wits end, literally. I'm 63 yrs old. Obese. 7 yrs sober, almost 8. I am on depression, anxiety meds. Thyroid, cholesterol, high BP, aspirin, omeprazole, muscle relaxer and alprazolam as needed. I'll try the Cerav.

      Im not a derm but have been dealing w pityrosporum folliculitis for a while now despite recurrent treatments, and I would just say avoid anything that could feed the yeast. I used to use scented lotions, now the only thing I use is a salicylic acid moisturizer & very sparingly. Scented Lotions have actually triggered flare ups for me in the past so I’d recommend you to avoid it if at all possible

    Im still wondering if what I have is malassezia on my face, I got it a year ago. my face became bumpy and rough, and theres also some small white hard beads/grains that I can feel everytime I run my fingers on my forehead or cheeks. Most of the times it comes off while I wash my face and it can easily be removed because it sticking out of my face.

    The red bumps from fungal acne, is it possible for them to be itchy or irritated when lotion or simple pressure is applied?

    • @embodyempathyemily8138
      @embodyempathyemily8138 Год назад

      they’re commonly itchy, which is a major hallmark of fungal acne vs normal comedones. I’m not a derm but was diagnosed & am still being treated for pityrosporum folliculitis, and the first breakout i had left my skin feeling very irritated with a slight burning sensation. I’m not sure if that is a common sign, but I would say that your symptoms are pretty aligned with at least my own experience of it.

    **Are you sure fungal acne is so rare?**
    IS K-BEAUTY TRENDING AND ALL THE FERMENTED PRODUCTS TO BLAME FOR "FUNGAL ACNE" GOING VIRAL?
    I am in my 40's and I got it early in quarantine. I was inside my apartment 24/7 and had the humidifier keeping it at 45-50% hoping to help my sinus/allergy issues. And then if course I decided to get into K-Beauty with lots of fermented products which I guess are all the rage. THE ITCHING IS UNREAL!! I went on a fungal-acne safe basic boring routine and medicine. It took months to get my skin back to health.

    • @krisr3612
      @krisr3612 2 года назад

      @None Same. For me, it was my change in skincare with K-Beauty full of fermented yeast type stuff. And then my allergies were so bad being inside all day with any special needs hybrid rescue cats. I got an air purifier and humidifier to help my sinuses but the constant extra humidity in the air and the K-Beauty product gave me a nasty breakout. I didn't even realize what it was for a few months. It was the intense itching and how reactive my skin was to certain products that give me cause to go looking for answers. Don't believe I have ever had fungal acne before. Sadly, it came back 6 mos later, but I had the fungal acne safe products and treatment so I got it under control quick. So embarrassing as I had to avoid mirrors for my own sake and remind everyone it wasn't contagious. I didn't need a mirror when I could see how I looked by the expression of horror and concern on friends' faces. 🙀

    • @krisr3612
      @krisr3612 2 года назад

      @None The yeast that causes the "fungal acne" is always on our skin. It is an overgrowth that causes the infection. Kind of like the yeast infections most women will have to deal with at one time or another. Only, we put products on our faces that can make it worse
