Starting and running a small business can be darn scary. When you are worried about rent and groceries it gets tough. Remember, real friends pay full price. Do good work at a fair price (profitable) and you will be turning people away because your book is full. Restoration work is never set price break it down into short jobs that can be delivered and paid.

I get it completely because I’m at that crossroads as well. I’ve learned that the cheaper customers give you the most headache and are the most demanding and want it done fast . I’ve also made the mistake of taking in jobs knowing that I should’ve charged more but I wanted to keep the cash flowing in and ended up doing way more work than what I was lowballing myself. I also can relate to owning a shop and spending your last coin and looking at your girl to pick up the slack on the family and household expenses and the long hours or even overnights trying to crank out a job . Autobody & Paint ain’t for the faint of heart but brother I’m impressed with your progression and I’ve been following since those Harbor Freight compressor days in your garage keep grinding because we’re in a field that will always be needed even if the planet is full off Jetson Mobiles they’re gonna need body work done and paint 😎

Sup bro, im 21 i been watching you and sprayway on and off for a little minute now but i was fortunate enough to have a shop that was passed down from my dad and grandfather im currently working on my buisness working on cars and its definitely difficult asfar as pricing goes when it comes to doing body work on old school cars. Or cars in general I think you explained things well in this video.. definitely a good reassuring feeling to know. That u went through what im going through now. Definitely going to take your advice on setting boundaries and haveing that you get what u pay for mindset because i like for things to be done right. so i can be put in a rabbit whole of doing more than what im paid for.. but its about fighting that feeling of you wanting to do things right. But sometimes people like to pay for that. i appreciate the advice bro. Definitely enjoy watching your journey. 💪🏾

🤣🤣 definitely can relate. Until I realize, charging a set hourly rate illuminates everything. If it takes you 10 minutes or 10 days you got paid you’re worth.

If it doesn’t seem worth it, I definitely would let it go, especially if there’s no benefiting plan at the end, if you were investing in your own company it’s normal to have to go through certain sacrifices in your own business but for some one else’s with no long-term benefits😬yeah… 🙅🏾‍♂️I would use that job as a tool to fund your own business & learning while making money there, but if you feel confident enough to pull in your own go for it! I’m the owner of my company, but my brother is my right hand man and sometimes he doesn’t get a check but he understands the bigger picture and will benefit as much as I will in the long. But be mindful when you’re working for somebody else expect to see the amount they see, it’s a few different factors that play, such as overhead, payroll materials, etc. you got it bro💯🫡

Open tab is the best way to go.. turn dollars into hours, one the hours ran out update customers so they can come with another bag.. material is the same way. Set aside a dollar amount for the process you're doing. Keep killing it
