Kinda late but no you have to take the rockers off cuz you gotta remove to push rods and it doesn't come out until the rockers do

Our whole lives are jokes. I got the motor for free and was planning on only using the block so not much care was put into correct disassembly. Of course, once we discovered the ventilated #7 piston the whole thing went to a scrapyard. Replication of anything seen in this video is highly not recommended.
So what was the point of this video... I wanna know how to tear my motor down before I send it off to get stroked.
@@kristopherjohnson5782 it’s easy. You won’t have to do anything except mark your top end valve train to go back where it was if your using a new bottom end. Just keep your main caps in order. You will have new rods and shit with a stroker set
This is an awesome learning experience for these guys! Everyone who's ever tore engines down and rebuilt them was at this point lol best way for these guys to learn a sbc

Nah man. Carbon on the piston tops increases your compression ratio. Absolutely necessary in a boosted engine 👍
