They watched it in real life too, just when the cars were out of sight you could watch on the tv. thought that was pretty obvious, the track goes right around the harbor
I got chills knowing those horns were for Niki. RIP young man. Thank you for this video. I will never get to see an F1 race in Monaco from a yacht so this will have to do and it was actually a brilliant video. Thank you Captain for the upload
I've been watching yacht related videos off and on for the last few years and this one was by far the most interesting! To get some insight into the yacht lifestyle on many levels. Something new to me. Thanks a lot! Much appreciated!
I watched one of your videos for the first time last week and now I'm hooked. Great mix of technical, operational and destination conversations with excellent narration, Thank you! Dan
hehehe !!! there are 2 ways to look at this videos ..... one is being a total idiot and start to complain about everything , about your luck etc etc and the other way (yours) is to have a blast and be carried to that place and enjoy those moments ...
@@perrooceaniko2005 Absolutely correct! I may not have the money to go to Monaco, but I have friends who do videos so I can still enjoy the atmosphere. We must enjoy life where we are. LOL!
Heaven on Earth for me! I looked up Monaco on RUclips after this very race, and soon after came the "recommended" videos and channels like yours. I've been drooling over yachts since May, one of my all time favorite videos on YT now!!! Thanks for sharing, love the channel!

As a fan of Formula One and yachting , never seen F1 from this respective. I've been to Monaco as a opponent when I was playing Pro Basketball in Italy. I miss my European brothers. Thanks.
Looking very very nice.....The Monaco Bay area is tight!!!!!!Geeeezzzzzz… It looks like totally fun out there!!!!! Wow!!!!!! Thank you for showing this!!!!!!!! Wow....Nice...
Packed in the bay area there and hearing the horns!!!!!!! Yes, it is crazy there!!!!!!! All of those super yachts there and their crews having a great time!!!!!!! So nice!!!!!!!
Just coming from the army as a SG totally agree on the diciplin aspect of no smoking, tidy crew cabins, no new man on crusial tasks without expert super vision
... lovely entry & smooth action on approach... Monaco lighting up like a living chandelier ..so class unsurpassed ... although I love a good rumba ... my vast preference in music is the quieter waters of soft jazz in this incidence ... love the whistle tune? ... wonderful weather for Race Day ... thanks so much for the sharing ...
I've had the displeasure of meeting many Superyacht Captains over the years, purely for Hydraulic installation work. You my friend are a cut well above those ! Great videos. I subscribe , nice to see a humble Captain, for a change 👍🏻
Ok Captain you win. When they all started horning, now that was awesome. LOL. I've followed f1 for years and I've never experienced it from that perspective. I was absolutely buzzing when you went to the bridge to sound off AWOL's horn. Thanks for the upload. And an special thanks to the guests who were onboard for a rare glimpse into the f1 world and their holiday experience.
I am very impressed of this special Vlog. It’s like I have been live on water during the race. As a captain on my boat i dreamed always to be there . Thanks so much !!
I was in Monaco last September. Rented motorcycles and drove in from Nice. Being from Los Angeles it was exciting to see. Marina Del Rey here in Los Angeles we do not get many big super yachts. It was fun to see all the yachts and the carnival atmosphere even on a non race weekend.
You do a fantastic job.....One recommendation is to put a fixed (go pro 7) aft facing so we can also see cut always to that camera when docking/undocking....
I have a friend that is a Stew on an Explorer Trawler. She said they have a remote/portable docking station that can be plugged in at the Bow/Stern or on either side of the wheelhouse. Would alleviate the need for a camera but I wonder how much something like that would cost and if it was worth the expense.
I think a high quality drone with a properly trained crew member at the controls would be a good asset to the Captain as well as the viewers of these videos. JIM
19:11 The Yacht horn was playing "7 Nation Army" by The White Stripes. For you younger people: the faint music at 5:35 is from the movie "Grease"(1978) and is "You're the One That I Want", sung by Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. I saw that movie at the Drive-In when it first came out.

Really enjoyed this video, how exciting to be there. We have the Grand Prix in St. Petersburg Florida and it's loud and exciting. It's mimosas for breakfast race weekend. You can see the big screens and the track from my slip, love it. Would love to have been in Monaco for the real scene. Thanks for sharing your experience.
My friends and I follow F1 and we know there are parties going on all night on the yachts in the harbor. But thanks to your totally interesting video we now have a good idea what what it looks like in the harbor the night before the race. Thanks very much for the very entertaining videos.
So cool Tristan, I have never seen such mega yacht money on the water at one time in my life. How thrilling to be part of something so exciting and grand. One day I hope to visit Monaco which is definitely on my “Bucket List”.
OMG These videos are the best of their sort I’ve ever seen. Amazing job, sir, amazing! 5 stars for quality and content. This video, especially, was bloody brilliant. Congrats on having such an amazing job,.....I’m sooooooo jealous!!?!!????!! Congrats.
First of all I must pay my respects to the crewman who died RIP. I remember those islands well, in addition to the restaurant there are lovely walks around them. Been to the race twice but when they where proper engines which made far more noise. One year I went with a girlfriend and there was torrential rain and I felt sorry for those who had flown in on Concorde just for the race. ( cost then including grandstand ticket was £700) Thanks for a great vid as I always wondered what it was like on board a yacht during the race
I really liked that video! Would love to see a recording of say two hours of all the tender traffic in the harbor! Anyway thanks for sharing all that you can!!
amazing, i have saw this yacht twice in monaco and really close, never dreamed of seeing the captain doing vlogs on this amazing yacht, keep on the hard work! :)
I have been watching you from the start of the channel, that is to say, viewing from your first vids, as a photographer and videographer, I think this is your best video so far.
Good day captain, I'm relatively new to your channel within the past few weeks. I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos and your points of view but most of all your knowledge of being a captain of a superyacht. Everything has been outstanding I thoroughly enjoyed today's video, Monaco is one of my favorite places and especially when the Formula 1 races are held there. never been there but if I were to go I would love to experience it off a yatch. I won't keep you any longer I know you're very busy but I just wanted to say thank you kindly and keep up the great work. Bobby from Newport, Vermont.
@@SuperYachtCaptain I was reading through your comments, I see AWOL is up for sale. If you don't mind me asking, you don't have to for obvious reasons, will you and your crew stay with AWOL or move on to the new boat? I know in the past most captain and crews usually stay with there vessel from Conception to well the end of the vessel. Once again thank you for your time, either way I understand that there maybe some privacy issues that come along with that question.
@@SuperYachtCaptain that's says a lot about the boat owner and the reputation ship you both have. Thank captain safe journey to your next port. Thank you for taking the time.
@@SuperYachtCaptain I don't know how this is going to sound or come across but I mean nothing from it. One of my hobbies is I have a couple of vessel tracking apps and very much love to Trac them. I grew up on the east coast of the USA on long Island sound, it's there did I get the salt water in my vains, I also found the interest in these magnificent, majestic lady's, so for years now I've injoyed following there moments criss-crossing the ocean. I get a kick out of learning about these pieces of jaw dropping, at times hard to get your head around as they keep getting larger and down right beutiful pieces of work.
That’s a pretty great atmosphere there in Monaco for the Grand Prix. You guys must’ve enjoyed yourselves too, not just the guests. Would enjoy also seeing footage from crew at the bow and stern while docking. I don’t know if it’s possible to do split screen to go along with your footage from the docking station?
Am I understanding this correctly? When moored in the Harbour, but not at the Dock, you lower 4 Mooring Lines into the Water, each with a Shackle, then a Harbour Diver takes the Shackle to a submerged Mooring Point, attaches the Mooring Line using the Shackle and then you Take In the Mooring Line to fix your position.

That atmosphere is insane ... love how all the yachts get on the horns at the opening and closing of the race ... this is defo on my bucket list.
Unlivable perspective that most of us would never experience without such submissions. Nice job mate. Well done.
An expensive way to watch the race on TV!!
Nice videos!
Most sporting events are best watched on TV. Super bowl, World series, Stanley cup, Olympics . Walk around taste the atmosphere then watch on TV
