  • In this video we will show you a diy friendly tutorial on how to install large format tile.
You will see us install the large format tile over a shower system. In our opinion KBRS shower system is the best when you compare them to Schluter Shower Systems, or Wedi Shower System or laticrete shower system.

I must of missed your procedure to remove all the air behind the tile?? I could be wrong but without collapsing ridges and vibration or rubber mallet there’s no way you will achieve the required 95% coverage in wet locations! No wonder,to much talk.

This may be hard to do at times, but of you can somewhat match the grain pattern on tiles like this, it will look Much better.

Good job! (If I can make a suggestion…maybe you know this, but personally I like when the tiles end with an entire piece on the last (ceiling) row….for that you install a piece of straight wood or a baseboard attached to the wall (studs or pieces of wood to the floor) on the first entire tile from the bottom….(first you have to take the measurements of the wall height, the tiles and add the gaps and set that wood at the beginning….it’s good to leave also a gap like 1/2” or so at the last row against the ceiling….cause ceiling are not flat nor leveled so you can “hide” visually that difference) of and the adjustment row of tiles (the one that you cut) instead of going against the ceiling go against the floor…so that one goes at the very end (next day, you take out the wood and you install that row)…..both ways are ok…but you have a tendency to see the ceiling row more than the floor)….Congrats for what your doing).

I will be installing 24x48 porcelain tile on the floor of my shower using a KBRS ready to tile basin, with a right side drain. Would I be better off asking my plumber to move the drain to the center for a better look on the floor (as in the cuts and grout lines) - any advice is greatly appreciated

Do you have to check the directions of the veins of the tile/stone. Like having them run in a similar direction. I wasn’t show if the tile under the faucet was in the same direction. I love your work by the way. I’m learning a lot.

Looks like the valve is set too far in. Might be wrong but they do have an extension kit for that valve. I have had this happen on many jobs when using LFT simply from having to build out the wall. I only set my own valves at this point.

Hi….(has to be a gap…for any contraction or expansion, specially in subtracts like wood frame panels (Drywalls or similar).… 1/16 should be ok….1/16”= 1.5mm and 1/32” = 3mm….(but there’s thickness in between 1.5mm and 3mm…in that range you find (abroad) 1-1.5-2-3mm but I couldn’t have found those measurements in the States….for me looks better the 1/16 than 1/32)
