It is a bad idea to have Singapore citizenship. First Singapore cannot have dual citizenship. Second Singapore is a very bad place for retirees. It depends on your age if you are after the rat race with low-income tax just a PR is sufficed.
Just because you apply does not mean you will get it. Its never been truer than in Singapore which is renown for being picky about granting residency and citizenship. Honestly I think chasing Singaporean citizenship is a fool's game, You can instead put 7 years on the ground in Chile and be almost guaranteed a citizenship.
This scheme is for individuals who are distinguished in their fields - these people would have no trouble getting a job offer. People hoping this would be an easier path for those struggling to land a job offer are gonna be disappointed.
I mean Singapore requires a $100 million investment into a Family Office to get PR. They are looking for people who are actual celebrities in sports or entertainment, the best of the best people in IT, and business people who already run publicly traded companies to take them up on this offer. You understand what this is about the sunshine and roses this channel keeps selling is hilarious.
I would also like to know if there is any age limitations? And also do I have to live the whole year there for been allegeable for the residency and also for have the possibility to convert this to permanent residency and after that to citizenship?
If you are not staying in Singapore most of the year you will never get PR in Singapore. If you are lucky enough to get temporary residency and a work permit, you had better be very good at making friends and earning the respect of others because you will need serious recommendations from Singaporean citizens to even have a chance to get PR there. If you somehow manage to get over the hurdles in your way to become a Permanent Resident of Singapore, you will have even more hurdles to overcome before you are lucky enough to be granted citizenship. Singaporean immigration makes US or Australian immigration look easy. Oh and you better bring some serious assets, aside from Monaco and Dubai, Singapore has the next most millionaires per capita of any city on earth. To get PR by setting up a Family Office for example you need to invest the majority of at least 9 figures that is over $100 million into Singaporean companies. Singapore is one of the hardest places if not the hardest place on earth to get permanent residency and citizenship.
