Thank you so much!
"When he roared no one roared back" that broke me 😭😭 so glad he's in a much better place, thanks to you guys
Sometimes having lots of Empathy is gut wrenching ...... But I wouldnt have it any other way! Much LOVE I pray that Your roars are ALWAYS answered ......
He'd be dead by now 15 is maximum age for a lion r.i.p
@@natashabegley1346 The Lion Whisperer has lions that are over 20 years old. You should look him up on RUclips. His Lions also get to go on enrichment walk with him which is great to see.
Leaving Ruben was bad enough but 5 years of empty sad grief for this majestic lion is incomprehensibly cruel, thank you to all involved in his magic moment new life and wishing him a abundance of love, happiness and friends,❤
No one should live a life like this poor creature. Not human nor animal.
Thank goodness they fed him.
Yes, 5 years alone - it's incredibly cruel !!!!!
Unbelievable how some people are just detached from compassion and empathy. I’m so glad his final years are filled with attention and love.
Lots of psychopaths out there...
@@Trigger-Warning not really virtue signalling - more like decent humans who know what kindness, empathy and compassion look/feel like.
A social animal kept in isolation for five years is pretty shabby, actually... 🤦🏻♀️
@@GypsyGirl317
It is called 'isolation torture' for a reason.
Lions life span is only 15 years
I agree keeping him in a cage too small for exercise was cruel beyond measure. BUT the comments were not about that. They were about how keen the commenter was at noticing cruelty, and how the commenter were NOT the guilty party. ex: _"There are a lot of psychopaths out there"_ actually says "I'm not a psychopath". The sentence is telling us (not about the lion) but about the commenter and their amazing qualities. Clearly signalling to us of their virtues. Same with the first: _"Unbelievable how some people are just detached from compassion and empathy."_ just telling us how the commenter has amazing awareness, compassion and empathy. JFC they might as well tell us that god takes their advice. Virtue signalling.
I don't know if the rescuers will see this message - but thank you for your kindness. It's so easy leaving it to others, which is what this soppy comment essentially does - but what a difference you make in the world.
I am 65 and have been through some tough times, but this brought tears to my eyes, what a beautiful beast, shame on the people who made the lions life hell
Weve been through Alot .....but it seems Empathy NEVER goes away !
You're doing good big man, keep on keeping on 😘🙂
Me too😢 happy tears
These are criminals! I always wonder where are they?! Nobody cares! For people Police they search all over the world for such abusing
É assustador ver isso de ruim acontecer com um tão fantástico animal. Q gente má o fez sofrer.
Now I'm sitting here crying for him. He almost couldn't walk when he entered his new environment. Thank you for helping and saving him. You are very honorable human beings! ❤
Ruben is such a beautiful guy. I love his green eyes. I hope he gets everything he wants. Such a fine boy.
That's because he's used to being in a VERY VERY SMALL ENCLOSURE
@@jeanmccallum-xs8rk yes he is stunning, his eyes are something else, they tell us about, where he came from, how poorly his life was, and also how he actually should have lived, in the wilderness of a prairie together with his pride. ❤️
@@MinnieSpencer sadly yes💔
I suspect the wobbly gait was at least partly a result of the sedatives wearing off (they said they had to sedate him to get him in the crate). It's exactly the way a cat walks when anesthesia or gabapentin is wearing off. However, it's still very heartwarming nonetheless.
This is what helps restore my faith in mankind. This rescue was everything
Yes....yes....yes!
You are better than I; I harbor anger at the previous "owners" who seemingly made no attempt to get the cat to a suitable environment.
@@vectorm4I'm with you 100% on that. It just infuriates me how people mistreat animals like it's no big deal.
@@vectorm4 So do I. Evil vile people that did this to that innocent Lion should be, something I can't say on RUclips.
Yes 💯 percent
His little roar is heartbreaking …. but heartwarming too! Wishing him lots and lots of years to come. 💜
Until he rips your face off…
@@rampz975 Well, I don’t plan on getting in his enclosure and playing with him. I’m sure his rescuers don’t either.
You can try to though! Make sure to let us know how that works out for you. 😉😋
@@Butterfly-mt5ml when did I say I wanted to? 😂 you’re the one saying awwww wild aggressive animals are so cute
@@rampz975stop trolling and exposing your ignorance!
@@rampz975 Where did I say wild animals are cute? And even if I did say a wild animal was cute, why do you think me saying they’re cute, means I’d attempt to interact with one? You’re doing a ton of ASSuming.
The poor guy walks so poorly, I thought it was anesthesia, but I see it is probably from the cage. It is beautiful that he gets to see other lions and come out into where there is sky, plants and dirt! Just beautiful, thank you!
Remember they mentioned they didn’t know if his health would allow him to eventually be placed with another lion
His eyes are so expressive ! One can almost 'touch' his sadness and feel his loneliness ! Thank you for bringing confort in his old days !
Thank you for giving Reuben the dignity he so deserves.
Beautifully put ✨🥰
Spot on, "it's crushing what people do to these animals".....fantastic to see this majestic boy will lead a happy life from now on 💛💛
You can see his soul looking into his eyes. What a magnificent lion. Bless those who saved him 💜♥️💜
Massive shout out to Qatar Airlines who are not just the friendliest to deal with (I have flown with them) but also have empathy for animals and wanted to help Ruben. So sad he had to live on his own for so long which is not good for lions at all. Enjoy the sun and grass, Ruben, you deserve it sir.
These zoos should be outlawed everywhere. Thank you for rescuing him and giving him a better life ❤
All zoos should be outlawed--why should animals have to stay in enclosures and be gawked at by people? If scientists need to "study" animals, why can't they work as field biologists? If they want to "protect" endangered species, why not just create sanctuaries? I don't go to zoos, aquariums, or circuses. Animals do not belong in enclosures; and they do not exist to entertain us.
Five YEARS of complete isolation is brutal, never knowing freedom, grass, the sky, winds... Poor poor animal 😔 I'm so very glad he was rescued and am truly horrified he was Left when the zoo closed..... 😢
And now he has social contact by sight, and we can hope for companionship.
I'd like to have a come to Jesus meeting with the owners, me and a Karma bat.
There are some people in Melbourne who had a whole year and a half spent in isolation. I can tell you first hand 100% that it still has a lasting effect even 2 years after.
Socialisation is so important for survival for all creatures of the land, sea and sky
Parrots live decades in cages and yet that is perfectly acceptable in every culture and every nation. Yet, parrots are can fly, are the most sentient of all non-humans, and the most intelligent as well. They are even smarter and more social than non-human primates and cetaceans. Yet the words bird and cage are always said together as if birds are meant to be kept in cages.
This was heart wrenching to watch. Why on earth would the villains who ran that zoo just abandon him like that, not to mention hold him in such cruel captivity for so long? Thank you so much for what you did for Reuben. I wish there were harsher deterrents and more aggressive law enforcement towards animal cruelty. Thank you for sharing this.
Answer to why: They used animals for profit, pure and simple. You and I are the opposite! Blessings 🦁❤🔥
Simple answer: Money makes the world go round.
A lot of the roadside "zoo's" in the US are just hell holes for the animals. I was so glad to see the Waccatee Zoo in South Carolina finally shut down but there's so many more. I don't know why the USDA lets any of them keep operating (other than it's another federal agency who doesn't do its job).
If it was 6 months but five years worse than being in prison. I'm glad he will live the rest of his life in his sanctuary
I honestly think they should ban animals from performing at Circus as well as the zoos..
Ruben appears in good health. Thank you for rescuing him and giving him a more normal life
Bless you for rescuing this boy. May he know nothing but freedom and happiness for the rest of his days.❤
I'm literally sobbing. How on earth did the people responsible for leaving Reuben on his own, caged up for 5 years, not have an ounce of decency and humanity?
It's so wonderful that Reuben gets to live the rest of his life out, knowing how grass feels, how the sun feels, how wind feels. But more importantly, how *freedom* feels.
May his remaining years be filled with love, kindness and companionship. ❤❤
They need jail time its a crime
Armenia is a poor and backward country, maybe there are no laws protecting animals... I'm sure there are people with heart but can they afford keeping and feeding this lion? I doubt. So this couple provided the best for him, bravo and sincere thanks.
Julian Assange ist seit 7 Jahren eingesperrt.
My tears are flowing but at least these wonderful people and organization gave him a life he so deserves ❤️
His gait shows that his muscles atrophied due to confinement in a small cage. Here's hoping he gets his strength back. Good luck, Reuben! 🥰🥰
Or he was still drugged up
@@SuperSeanobrien no, he was not drugged up. That's muscle atrophy.
Just what I was thinking; I wish they had discussed his difficulties.
Same here. Poor guy! 😏@@susanmclane7781
@@shannonjmsn2011Yes!
What a beautiful creature Reuben is! Magnificent! So glad he now gets to enjoy simple pleasures that should be necessities for him from the get-go.
Exactly, these animal should be in their natural habitat!!!!!! Humans that do this to animals are simply CRUEL!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder if mankind, as a whole, will ever realize that animals are a remarkable gift that we should be protecting?
Not until we stop thinking of everything as secondary to profit and human life.
Unfortunately, most humans will not.
Sadly, it’s not just about animals. There seems to be a general lack of empathy and compassion and a tolerance for neglect and cruelty in way too many people.
Vegans realize it.
Unfortunately, we’re in what’s known as the sixth mass extinction, and escape is futile. The Earth will go on in some form or another. In all likelihood, however, humanity itself will be near extinct before mankind as a whole realizes what we’ve done to our own damn selves.😢
He is still a beautiful, magnificent animal. Even despite all the suffering.
Yeah... but at the same time he is the worst looking lion ive ever seen, very sad.
@@WhoGotSoulHereHow he's the worst looking lion you've ever seen??
What a beautiful Lion, his eyes are so expressive....it's heart breaking to think that he lived in solitary confinement for 5 long years, but he's obviously happy in his new home and hopefully he'll be able to mix with other Lions and perhaps bond with one of them. Thank you for saving him and giving him the chance to be a Lion. 👏🦁🐾💕

Absolutely heart-warming story. May Ruben live a long, healthy life, with a mate and a pride surrounding him. May the memories of loneliness fade away, being replaced by dignified and truly amazing memories. Thank you for rescuing this courageous being, gifting him a new life and the chance to feel the love there is in this world. Ruben will always be in my prayers.
Amen everything they robbed Ruben of I know that loneliness well
His ability to walk was greatly compromised from being in the too small cage in Armenia.Hoping his strength ,in time, will return and give him the ability to walk and run with managed care and good healthy food.I have nothing but praise for the people who saw the need to rescue him and then actually set the wheels in motion to save him and not die alone in that wire cage. There is a special place in heaven for people like you!!May God bless you for your kindness.
He was so happy for a change of scenery. So happy he's getting his roar back.
Hope the lion enjoys it’s life now with peace and do what a lion does!
It was heartbreaking to me that Ruben was left alone for several years in a small cage. I am so thankful to the rescuers for giving him a greatly improved life and freedom to be a normal Lion.
"He traveled really well. He seemed to know something good was happening."
Amazing
From one of your supporters, thank you, ADI, for saving Ruben, bringing him home to Africa, and giving him the life he deserves w/other lions, only wish it could’ve happened for him sooner.💕🦁🌍
Thank you for your support! It looks like Ruben is making the most of his new life, and he is not letting his past get him down.
It'll never be a continuing life for him in the wild. He list his ability to be himself as a skillful hunter.
I'll never understand how a person can abandon an animal. It's cruel.
Money is a guess. Compassion with out "means" to transform it into action is unfortunately of no large value in a mainly physical/material world.
Chill We do much worse to them on a daily basis
We shouldn’t even have these animals. Taking animals away from their natural habitat is cruel. Even your dogs and cats
@@GabGotti3 a dog has no natural environment since it is not a natural animal.
@@GabGotti3 Since man appeared on earth, dogs have always sought to live with humans. What is cruel is to chain them or lock them in a house, but in the countryside free as air they are very happy to accompany their humans in the meadows

Heartless people leaving him, Angel people rescuing him and bringing him home ❤
In hysterics. Such suffering. A sanctuary! I have such a kinship with big cats, specially lions. Heartbreaking eyes. Thankful for his rescue and for adding love and kindness to Ruben’s life.
I've always said that if my death came about because of a large animal attack, whether it be big cats, bears, etc, do not harm that animal. If I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time, so be it. They are just doing what they do and I was too stupid not to be there!

❤magnificent animal❤
Yeah very beautiful animal.. that will rip your face off within seconds, I find it weird how everyone hates on chimpanzees yet praise animals like lions and bears.
@rampz826 chimpanzees are cute too (and could rip your face off) and deserve to be treated with respect, compassion & humanity, just like every animal, and if unfortunately, any chimpanzees were in a similar situation, they too would be helped.
@@Lillyboo65640 but every video I see about chimps everyone hates on them and says they’re violent but every video about lions people always say they’re so cute it makes no sense. Lions kill over 100 people a year chimps have killed 20 in the last 20 years..

I’m glad Ruben is happy and doing well now! 😊
There are none with more beautiful, selfless hearts... or whose actions are in greater service to God than the noble rescuers of His most helpless creations. May those who rescued majestic Ruben be profoundly blessed.💕🙏💕
Enough of that stupid, obsessive, invasion of animal videos and threads by people desperate to plead the cause of delusions of mythical entities that rule everything, while there is no material evidence of anything concerning the existence of those mythical entities and even less of their actions. Mass hysteria is not proof.
If I did not pity the afflicted I would not be so kind to followers of deist religions. Maybe I would invade their tales of fantasy, but I know that would only drive them even further from the fact-based life that reason demands.
Stick to your own videos and discussion threads!

All I can say is Thank You for the work you do. With the animals that we have, everytime I have thought we shouldn't have them, my immediate next thought is "I can't imagine anyone taking as good care of them as we do." They have the best possible life we can give them, and get loved on all the time. Again thank you for getting him out of there.
Oh bless this beautiful lion. And bless you for helping him. So joyful.

On behalf of the entire animal loving community of the world THANK YOU for saving this beautiful, majestic animal and showing him the love and care that he so rightfully deserves. I can't imagine the sense of loneliness and the feeling of being uncared for that Ruben has felt. My heart is full seeing him in his new home where he can see, communicate and interact with other lions as well as experience the outdoors and feel the breeze through his mane. Great job. 😁
God people r do cruel. Thank God he was rescued !!! God bless him and you all for what you do for these beautiful animals. ❤😊
It’s heartbreaking to watch this boy try to walk. And he needs a companion sooner than later!
I think the people who actually care for the lions are probably in the best position to know when he needs a companion.
That is a very complex and difficult process. If you watched carefully you may have noticed that long years in a cage caused an atrophy of his muscles... Reuben has to gain back strength first. Lions as most big cats tend to fight before making friendship. Won't be good for Reuben at the time the video was made.
But anyways.. I wish he gets a companion or mate as soon as possible but we should leave the decisions to the experts at the sanctuary.
So heartwarming to see Ruben's rescue and to hear that roar once again! I was brought to tears seeing him walking freely as he and so many others like him should. I pray that he and all the lions there in the sanctuary will continue to thrive and receive the care and love they deserve!
What a lovely outcome for Ruben. I'm so happy for him. May he have a long and lovely life with the other lions.
