FINAL FANTASY XVI is finally out! Time to start the easter egg hunt or self references, as these games tend to make the iconic monsters, spells, weapons, or even character names appear through most of the installments, giving some identity to them, but still keeping their individuality as a standalone game.
What I want to focus on, is not these shared elements of every game, but rather the callbacks and references that 16 makes to the other releases specifically, that makes it so special.

Hello! Thank you for your support and comments on my previous video (shameless plug here ruclips.net/video/8Mbq_viP-sU/видео.html ), I've put together this short bonus edition of references, or at the very least scenes/moments/names that brought you that sense of "OH! JUST LIKE IN ___" which is already as exciting as a explicit easter egg put by the devs, at least in my opinion.
Thanks for watching and the support! Sorry if some have lack of context by not having me speaking over it lmao, but most of them are kinda self explanatory ♥
The ending escene of ff16 says "And so our jorney ends" and in the fist scenes of ff1 after crossing the bridge it says "And so their journey begins".

There are also references to Final Fantasy 3 & 4 in the subtitles settings menu the examples they use mention Skylla and Zemnus from those respective titles.

@@DroWarriorOfLight Also just discovered this today, but Jill and Tifa share the same mo-cap actor, as a result their idle poses/animations are the same.
The beach scene of Clive and Jill was a reference also of Cloud and Tifa under the Highwind, implied fornication.
I completely agree, it's mentioned on the first part or the original video I referred to. The fact that there's a wolf like companion around somewhere close both times is so funny to me

I thought I was the only person who noticed the FF10 whistle. No one else has talked about it really!
I first saw it thanks to a japanese fan when the demo was out, and completely forgot about it until after the first video of this series was uploaded 😂 thankfully I could update it
Kupka also shares some lines with titan in 14.
I'm sure things like that are around just for the nature of who made/translate both games. I'm also sure I will miss them because I'm not good at that 😅

Yup, totally. Although they were a reference already back then to make a callback to FF4, but I for sure got Delta Attacked to oblivion. I should do a %100 run

@@galneryus8464He's essentially a mix of both. He and his people ruined their planet with magic so they traveled in Origin to find another one, but he also has the ability to create life with his magic. So he made humanity after landing on Valisthea.
All of em are pretty solid callbacks. I do fail to see the connection on very last one.

And understandable, I miss it for a while too, but many others have told me that when Ultima Risen was taking his form, for a bit it got One wing alone, and they remember Sephiroth and his one wing for that reason. But it was for a very small time, as his full form has a complete set of like 6 wings 😅
