    - The Stolas are reminiscent of the carrier pigeons used to send messages in FF6
    - One of Mid's assistants is named "Owain", which was the name of Cyan's son

    - Joshua is a reference the character of the same name in VS, also a young boy and the son of a duke
    - "Cursebreakers" is a reference to "Riskbreakers" from VS

    Other subtle references
    - Cactuar note next to a closed door on the second floor in Damakiah
    - Obviously, every Eikons do their classic attack, but the way Kupka flips the ground when he fights Clive in Rosaria is very subtle yet very close to how FF7 did it
    - Phoenix Down Curiosity is a nice touch as well
And also, to people that says this is not a "real" final fantasy because its not turn-based on it feels too much like DMC...we all know Square is used to change and experiment with the gameplay for each title and never before people said it was not a Final Fantasy game....hereby, I think what makes a Final Fantasy game is most likely the IP references. Items name, monster names, summons, character jobs and/or names.... I think that as long as we get those references in, any gameplay can make it a final fantasy game. And FF16 had such a great story and all these little nodes to previous game that never once I felt like not playing a Final Fantasy game.
Even if we dont control a party, I always felt like I was in a party with other allies. They did a great job at modernizing the franchise and doing it doesnt prevent us from buying the old classics they also remastered. Everyone wins!

I'd like to add that in the final battle in the JP version Ultima calls every eikon as the name of their summon spells from FF3:
    Icen (Shiva)
    Spark (Ramuh)
    Hyper (Titan)
    Catastro (Odin)
    Bahamur (Bahamut)
And he calls Garuda "Gigameth", which is a character from FF3 that eventually turns into Garuda. Phoenix is instead called "Tycoon", which may be a FF5 reference.

What a great video! I have a different opinion on the Red Chocobo, his attacks are the same from FFXIV but the colors and model of the Red Chocobo in FFXVI is exactly the same as FFXIII-2 Crazy Chocobo. They both look exactly the same. And Clive's White Chocobo resembles the one in FFXIII Lightning Returns which is Odin when he appears as a White Chocobo and assists Lightning in the battles. Well done figuring out the rest of the Easter Eggs and references as i myself couldn't recognize as many as you did, even though i played all Final Fantasy games.

It's nice they would make references to the actual series because if not for summonimgs and enemies this game would have absolutely nothing to do with final fantasy. FF played exactly the same for 2 decades then the creators of the series left the company and then they went bankrupt and merged with enix. Since then they've had absolutely no idea how to make an open world turn based FF which is what the series actually is not some anthology where it can be entirely random every time

FF hasent been turn based for almost 20 years, shut up moaning about that, the people who now played turn based FF are in the 30s plus, and the devs need to continue to market their games to younger audiences now.
