This anime is both brutal and classic old school anime never dies. This character analysis is long overdue.
Violence Jack needs a PlayStation game that plays like a cross between Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and War of the Monsters (but M-rated).
One of my favorite anime of all time. So brutal, nasty and badass. I will never get tired of it.
Interesting how Satan’s guilt made him recreate the broken world into a place where he would be punished and Devilman in Jack’s form would be able to save people

I like Violence Jack because it represents IMO the rawest portrayal of what a Fallout raider/post-apocalyptic thug is like, and the sort of shit you'll have to face as even a grey morality character if you want to survive with your sanity semi-intact. You'll have to face the concepts of kidnapping, murder, r*pe, brutal torture, savage butchery, _and double tapping every tango downed,_ *never skip double-tap day,* lancer.
Violence Jack is in the same universe as Devilman and it’s sad 30 years after the events of Devilman if I remember correctly. I love the three Pardo VA and I love the manga of this to.

Months later but yes, read Devilman, it’s an incredible 5 volume story. Violence Jack is a loose sequel which truthfully is a spoiler in itself since their connection isn’t revealed until the end of the story.

I really want this series to get the Crybaby treatment as it is sort of the non canon sequel to Devilman. Imagine it taking place after and nobody knows its connected until the twist at the end.
It would be awesome to see it in the Crybaby animation style and music. Heck, even at the end we could get the original Devilman music playing again.
it's the canon sequel, it's titled as the true sequel while devilman lady is titled as a story from another universe in a go nagai art book (not sure where saga stands) + gekiman ends with the start of violence jack

Violence Jack is a mixed bag for me, as while there are elements of the OVAs and manga I like (ultimately the manga is better), but the intense brutality made me pause several times.
I appreciate this video, but there are many many errors in the details. I encourage anyone who can stomach them, to watch them. Their influence on Fist of the North Star and Berserk are evident. Plus, as far as 80's dubs go, it's one of the better ones.

I tracked down the Violence Jack titles around 2018. For me, they didn't live up to the hype. Jack is a boring, invincible character. It left me cold.

This is maybe the stupidest anime i've ever seen (and i've seen a lot). I like blood and gore as much as the next guy and the sex rape scenes although too graphic and mostly unnecessary were passable. But the lack of any true story and believable plot is what sucks here, only the third one seems kind of well made and even that is stupid. Stupid decisions from every character throughout the anime, like absolutely illogical shit. Are they all stupid in this post apocalyptic world? No plot whatsoever just stupid shit to keep the really bad fight scenes coming, like in evil town Jack letting the boss live TWICE, fucking TWICE!!!!! to fight him again a third time while he had no problem killing everyone else, no thanks... Violence Jack my ass.... and some dare compare this shit with the gem that is Fist of the north star.
