Here I am at 32 watching this, knee deep in the technique along with my sister who is now 30 trying to learn one-stroke in honor of my mother who LOVED your videos and tutorials in the early 2000’s. (She passed in 2016). My favorite thing she left behind were all the clay pots and paintings she made with one-stroke technique. Thank you Donna for making my mom so happy and continuing to teach the tradition!

As I a kid, I always remember my mom buying your kits so she could learn to paint🥺 she passed away a few years ago. When i was a kid i begged my parents to buy me a Donna Dewberry one stroke painting kit. I watched her regularly on KCET and always wanted to call the phone number listed on the screen. I recognized the thumbnail and the iconic painting style as I was scrolling through RUclips. What an inspiration! Thanks, Donna!

Beautiful! You have shown how easy it can be to make something gorgeous. Roses are for the month of June and my birthday. I’m a retired teacher and can honestly say that you’re a wonderful teacher. I can hardly wait to paint some cabbage roses, which are also my favorite.

Here is an inspiring story for you.
Back when there was only Dial UP Internet, I went to the magazine rack and found an amazing Painting Lesson by Donna Dewberry. Each piece within the magazine looked majestic, yet I knew I could quickly learn and accomplish.
My first rose, buds, petals came out looking like hers.
Everyone marveled.
It was my source of joy and an outlet in an extremely abusive marriage, where the internet and socializing was forbidden. I still have my first creation and it started me on looking at the flowers around the house and learning to paint with one stroke.
We don't know the big debate that is happening here within these conversations;
but one thing I know for sure, she introduced it to Canada and the US and exposed us to paint like a professional but with ease and without having to take a years worth of courses.

Donna I watched you on the 90s on PBS! LOVEEEEEEE Watching you! I purchased two kits from you on HSN. One self teaching kit & one 3D one stroke paint kit in 2000?!?! I STILL USE BOTH!! The paint is AMAZING!! IGNORE THESE MILLINEALS! Your the Bob Ross of my generation. Keep up the videos!

I paint because of you. I bought a kit off a home shopping show. One day you talked to the audience, saying anyone who has a kit but never opened it now was the time.i took a single class at Hobby Lobby. The rest I learned by watching Donna on TV. I have demonstrated one stroke at a local art league meeting.
I remember when you were on t.v. in the mid 90's ghis flower was the first painting I ever tried, it was purple with white. Kinda wish you were back on t.v.

Donna, I'm finding out that I'm not exactly getting the "wiggle" right yet. So far, I have been just practicing the "wiggle". I am practicing with the plastic envelope with a piece of colored paper inside, or even white depending on the colors I decide to play with. When my "wiggle" starts giving me better results, then I can concentrate on actually painting the rose. I'll get there!

Hun, DON'T EVER apologize, for your talent, that pleases so many. CLEARLY Trolls are trying to control your emotions and get you down. Dismiss negativity, delete it, or have someone do it for you. Replace it with all the positivity you have that is CLEARLY displayed. And continue on your happy path. We must learn to stop the negativity from affecting us, and penetrating our spirits. You and Bob Ross were the painting professionals of my childhood. When I was little I'd sit and watch you paint on CBS every Saturday morning. I never tried to follow your tutorials when I was little - I wish I did - but now that I'm 20 I would love to finally give them a try. Wow! This is awesome! I started watching her program when I was a little girl! I remember when my grandma had seen her on QVC and ordered me my first set of hers! I was between ten and eleven I think. I started watching for her on QVC and wanted a kit every Christmas! I love how you made it so easy but very beautiful! I painted every day after school and my mother still has several canvas and glass pieces displayed today even after twenty years! Gosh, I haven't picked up a paint brush in a long time! Not a lot of extra time in my life these days. This has got me wanting to start back painting tomorrow! My first was the racoon with watermelon and of coarse the cabbage rose!!
