This is awesome! I followed this tutorial but instead of facepaint, I used acrylic on canvas! Turned out so good. Thank you!
That’s great to hear! You’re very welcome! I’m happy to know it work out for you 🥰 Today’s face painting techniques were definitely inspired, if not borrowed, by the ones from the fine arts world 😁
I would like to know how u were able to do this on canvas!!!!! It will help me to learn!!!!! Thanks!!!!! 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
How did you do the multiple colours on one brush?
@@umaagnihotri9386 You can use acrylics, oils etc (any liquid medium, really) to paint on other surfaces. Loading the brush is just different than when face painting. One way is to dip the corner edges of the brush in two different paints (so half the brush would be one color and the other half the other one). Swipe the brush back and forth on a piece of paper just enough to get the two colors to mix into that gradient. Then paint the rose the same way you would with face painting. Just make sure you clean and reload your brush when you begin to see that the colors are mixing into one.

Thank you so much!
Thank you. I had to reposition my split cake for the contrast. I can't find the red next to the white in any of them so I cut and lifted the red and pink and reinsert by turning them upside down with the red next to the white. Made all the difference.
Awesome! Glad that worked for you.

Hi dear,!!!! I really appreciate the way u are answering all our doubts, because I think u are a superb teacher!!!!! I am 70 plus. I am good at painting, but never tried Face Painting. I just love to learn from u how to do these lovely roses!!!!! Can u tell me on what paper I must practice!???? And how to give pressure???? If u don't mind answer me on U tube only, because I am Not so good on emails or computers!!!! 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 Thanks a lot dear!!!!! 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Hi Uma! Thank you for your comment. For face painting, real skin will always be the best canvas to practice on, BUT you can also use the practice boards I use in the videos (I have attached links in the description). These boards resemble those thin plastic sheets used as cutting boards. The ones with a rough texture work best. You can also paint on thick paper, you’ll just need more water and paint as the brush will dry quicker. Note that using paper and plastic as a canvas will give you a slightly different result than painting on skin and will be a little tough to get used to as the paint behaves different. They are great to practice on though!
In terms of pressure, that comes with practice and getting familiar with your brush. Different pressures will give you different results. It’s all about pressing down on your brush. Don’t be afraid to play with pressure when practicing 😁 Hope this helps!
Subscribed! Thanks for sharing this video. Can I use this technique for thermochromic paint?
Thanks for subscribing! :) I’ve never used thermochromic paint, but I’m intrigued! Technique wise it should be the same 🤔 The only difference are the paints as you need a light and dark color to give you the highlights and shadows you need to create definition. But it sounds like a very cool experiment to try out! If you can share it, I would love to see it! #doodlesfba
Good explanation
Thank you!!

You are osm teacher mam
Thank you very much friend! You’re kind 💕
Nice video
Thank you!
What brand and size brush are you using? Thanks.
Tutorial on butterfly please
Nice
Thanks!
This is amazing! Would this work with painting on other surfaces with normal paint?
Thank you! And yes it would work. This technique actually comes from the fine arts world. You can use acrylics, oils etc (any liquid medium, really) to paint on other surfaces. Loading the brush is just different. One way is to dip the corner edges of the brush in two different paints (so half the brush would be one color and the other half the other one). Swipe the brush back and forth on a piece of paper just enough to get the two colors to mix into that gradient. Then paint the rose the same way.
What are you using to demonstrate the technique?
Does any brand of brush work or do you recommend a specific brush ?
I would recommend a flat brush (flat angled works too) that is on the thinner side and with short to medium length for the bristles. A 1/4, 3/4 and 1in brush will work. You don’t need a specific brand. I’ve found some at crafts stores that work (soft ones for face painting)
What surface do you recommend practicing this on? (Apart from a canvas)
Hi there! For face and body painting, the best surface to practice on will always be skin (thighs are great, as you have more space lol) the next best thing are plastic boards, but you can also use thick paper, it’ll just require a lot more paint.
Awesome!! What are you painting the rose on? Is it paper?
Allie Kat thank you! I’m painting on a plastic practice board by Sally Ann Lynch.

I’ve tried a few brands, but her boards are great as they have a rough texture that hold paint well. Practice boards do require a little more water than painting on your skin.
I’ve never seen cakes like that
They’re pretty coo right?
super ! where can I find the one stroke cake please ? have you put yourself the paint into it ? thanks
Thanks! The cake Im using I made myself by using Global Colours (white & Red) and TAG (Berry Wine) but a similar cake is TAG's Stargazer #23. Here's the link: www.jestpaint.com/collections/tag-1-stroke-cakes/products/tag-paint-1-stroke-stargazer-30gr-23-tagosc124

@@magalietheora6327 you’re welcome!
How can we make big bedsheets design,,,which num of brush we shud use plzz tell
Awesome idea! My guess is that the size of the brush depends how big you want to make the roses. Maybe a 2inch brush?
@@DoodlesFaceandBodyArt thank you,,,
I want to make this rose on fabric but failed again and again
Pls tell me which color you use techniwues
Hi! I’m using face paint, but perhaps acrylic paint will work better on fabric as it’s more wet? I’ve use this technique with acrylics on a canvas and it works well. All you do is dip half of your brush in one paint and half on the other, (like red and white) and then swipe your brush on a scrap paper to blend the colors a bit before beginning to paint the rose. If you’re painting on fabric, it might help if you tape the fabric down and it’s stretched so it lays flat and there are no creases? I hope this helps! 🥰

What kind of paint do you use?
Hi! I use paint design to be used on skin. You can find the list of products and brands in the description. I’ve also included links to most of them for more info.
Awesome
What is the paint that you are using.?

Thank you!
The split cake I’m using here, I made myself with Tag Berry Wine, Tag Regular Red and Fusion White.
@@DoodlesFaceandBodyArt tq for the lovely reply, I'm 70 years old. I love painting on fabric.
That’s awesome! Would love to see your work!
I will try to send mam, how to send, I should work on it. Tq
What paint should we use for face painting?
Hi! You should definitely use cosmetic grade paint. There are many brands of face paint out there and depending where you are located. I have included a list of the brands I used in the description. Not all brands are created the equal. Sometimes you have to test different ones to find the one that works best for you, same with brushes. Hope this helps!
@@DoodlesFaceandBodyArt yes it helps a lot ,thanks for your advice I’ll make sure to buy some good paint and brushes ❤️
