I've noticed that the community surrounding Genshin that helps newer players is just incredible. I think Shark is the best content creator for people learning.
@SharkH3art Truly the best guide. But it kind of assumes you will not change characters. My main DPS right now is Traveler and I am AR24. I know I will be dropping traveler as soon as I save enough to get something good on a banner.
@@spartanxxv Eventually: pick who you want and get to the AR you need to pre-farm them. before that: Build a character to be good enough to get you to that world level while still being able to actually grind the world itself.
I just (re-)started the game this weekend, after only playing a few hours during the original launch, so this video is coming out at the perfect time! Been unsure of the how I should be handling leveling (especially artifacts), so this video is going to be incredibly helpful. Can't wait till I jump back on and put it into practice.
@@SADJ1990 You can get to AR30+ in a just a few days which is where the mid game starts. It will take a bit longer to get to AR45+ which is when you'll seriously starting farming artifacts and begin the endgame journey to max characters and beat the highest floors of the abyss :)
I'm AR 50 now and have been following the advice in this video since I started playing, haven't run into any roadblocks thanks to you, this video is amazing for new players to understand the game!
I reached AR 30 and started having a lot of trouble with enemies. I found this guide, and it took a while to correct the initial problems I had, but now I’m at A35 WL 3 and am clearing everything easily. (haven’t increased world level to 4 yet) I’m just grinding a bit to gather some resources before I ascend my AR. This guide saved me from quitting the game out of frustration. Thank you!
It's actually nice to hear that weapons aren't all that expensive to advance. I've been avoiding it waiting for weapons I like, and at AR28 that's starting to catch up to me.
I started playing during Ayato's banner and basically did a speedrun to get to Inazuma ASAP in a week so I can both ascend him and join the Irodori festival. Got to AR 40 in 3 weeks and am now 46 after playing for about a month. I regret prioritizing character levels instead of weapon/talents so I was very weak when I reached WL 4/5. Didn't know that domains were time-locked. My weapons were all level 20 and talents at 1. But once I learned about them and upgraded weapons and talents, WL6 was significantly easier than when I entered WL5. I also regret not unlocking some bosses early (Raiden and Azhdaha) cause I didn't know they were locked behind story quests. Another thing I wish I knew early was getting my teapot to level 6 ASAP. It unlocks transient resin which gives 60 resin weekly. I'm definitely at Phase 7 of this guide. I've slowed down significantly chasing AR and just focusing on support characters and getting talents to level 8. I don't even have the time to farm for artifacts yet. lol. Thanks for giving me a goal!
How the hell did you get ar 40 in 3 weeks dam my best account is 22 and I played for like 2 months but I started a new one because I was more Familiar with the game but I probably only played 3 hours a day tops some days nothing at all or even multiple days so maybe thats probably why
@@dominicp9296 Just focus at main story dont over explore just unlock dungeons and tps always finish coms. Btw i started 5 days ago and im ar34 this video helped me a lot. Iam not missing any quest but now i miss sleeping😂. Additional tip go further to sumeru dessert and inazuma quickly to get more xp and quest. The only thing that hinder me is my fucking luck i already draw ~70 inc. blue draw still didnt get any 5 star char.
This is such great insight, thanks. I could relate to some of the struggles you went through especially before focusing on weapon and talent leveling. After doing so playing became much much more enjoyable.
Perfect timing!! I have watched several videos about builds because even though I am AR 35, I felt like my characters were not strong enough. I watched this video a couple days after you uploaded it and here I am, nine days later, and my gameplay is so much smoother! I had to grind a little bit with domains and bosses in order to pick which characters worked for me and then fixed and built my teams like you said. Holy smokes, everything is much better! The ultimate test was when I had to fight Signora and Ei. I was able to use my two top teams. Thank you for helping me! Your videos are so helpful!
I quit the game after AR18 just because I had no idea how to manage resources and ended up with literally nothing. Now I can return and build my Hu Tao properly. Thank you for this video
I literally paused the video at 3:48 and started clapping. Best step by step guide on genshin by far and it’s gonn be hard to beat. When you introduced the priority order list, I was wondering how one was supposed to know when the weapon is high lvl enough to move unto the next Item. The following few seconds answered my question. We love to see it :) keep em coming!
Updating my comment now that I reached AR51: as a note if you plan to edit or re-release a guide like this, note 18:04 the idea adventure ranks slowing down at 45 may no longer be the case for players who love World Quests. Between Inazuma, Chasm and Sumeru, there are now enough multi-stage world quests that if you for example spend a whole day entire working on quest chains as if this game was a regular JRPG, you can blaze through AR45-49 very quickly. I started Inazuma at AR44 and decided to do all the side quests I had access to, then I went to Sumeru to try Collei (without having finished the archon quest) and found a really fun world quest in there. After the Sumeru and Inazuma side questing, I was all of a sudden AR49 thanks to multi-part quests that had hundreds of adventure EXP per part. AR49-50 was essentially the anime training arc for me, only doing dailies, domains, and world bosses to make sure I wouldn't be underpowered for AR50/World level 7.
Yeah now there's sooo many world quests I think I might have to remake the video just to tell ppl to slow down around AR30-35 before the enemy difficult makes a huge jump. I'm working on updating another video first, and then this will be on my list ^_^
For artifacts, it may be better to give artifacts with EM, ER, or health for specific support characters. For example, some shields scale with health, so boosting the health would make a lot of sense. Likewise, EM for characters like Sucrose, or ER for battery characters. In fact, some energy hungry units like XL will benefit from some ER as well. As for weapon, I think it would be good for beginners to become familiar with which weapons are good for who (XL is possibly the only broken one who can swing almost any polearm and get good results). Otherwise, giving the wrong weapons to the wrong characters will reduce the team's effectiveness. In fact, some of the 3* weapons are even pretty good too... ! There are public spreadsheets that document them, as well as character information at some well known Genshin sites.
What a comprehensive and well-thought out video. What a great guide for someone who is starting over on an alt because I failed my first account pretty bad (It's not unrecoverable but I prefer to get a fresh start). Not to mention you also have the capability to catch up to this guide's requirements as well. This is a very versatile and wonderful guide, thank you so much!
I have been searching for this type of video for a long time but since I couldn’t find any I made a lot of mistakes after watching this I will continue building my character accordingly. THANK YOU MATE. 👍
found your channel couple days ago. hotdamn. you are a treasure trove of knowledge. especially for us f2p players. but armed with your knowledge? i wouldn't feel bad about spending some coin on the game now. thx bro, you da man.
I started playing in October and this guide truly helped me a lot I'm now AR55 and all my fragile resins remain untouched, thanks to this video I handled my resources properly by leveling up only the characters and weapons/artifacts I need I suggest rushing to AR45 (although you might hit a road bump at Signora) to start grinding on Shimenawa/Emblem set, you can always do coop on this domain since a lot of players do Update: I finally beat abyss floor 12 on my 5th month of playing, but only 33 stars since I started lacking damage on my team 2 on chambers 2 and 3
What does that mean by your fragile resins remains unlocked? As in you’ve spent minimal fragile resin? Curious because my girl and I are always using it when we have it to grind out Cubes/Domains etc while only at around AR31…
@@nazkettu Yes I haven't used any of my consumable FRAGILE RESINS when I posted that comment. As of now I spent around 20+ FRAGILE RESINS because I had to rush on grinding Alhaitham and Yaoyao. I still have 94 in my inventory
I personally would make one adjustment in the AR50+ section. With the supports, I would prioritize artifacts over talent levels 7 and 8. At least for utility supports. Getting usable support sets on them will in many cases bring more value than those two talent levels (Noblesse, Tenacity, etc). If one of those utility supports is anemo, I would suggest getting any 4pc VV set on them as early as AR40 (the stats can wait but the set bonus is just that broken). One other tip I would reccommend is, any spare resin you have from AR30-40 ought to be used for extra talent books. There is less variation is talent domain rewards by AR than things like mora and Exp books and having extras will mean you can farm other things at higher AR (Mora, Exp books, artifacts). Over all this is a great guide for new players and well organized.
started playing genshin during the first week of feb, followed this guide and im now ar41 with so many resources and im dominating enemies, ty so much for the help, cant wait to farm artifacts and take on the abyss, this is such great content, subbed and liked
I returned to genshin in 3.2 after not playing since 1.2 Thank you so much for the guide. Coming up on level 79 for my raiden shogun just working on the last talent and assentsion matts this week. Almost AR43. Thanks so much for this guide. Lifesaver
You can speed it up by just making condensed resin the day before (I start the day before that day with leaving only 1 condensed resin so I get 5 total) and then have an additional 4 more condensed resin from today to spend on the day the talent book is on. Total of 9 condensed resins to use in the domain roughly 2-3 times a week.
@@sharkh3art Hey man I'm already at ar45 and everytime I raise an ar rank I go back to this vid! You made my genshin experience so good as I've never faced a wall so far! Thank you!
one early main DPS I saw left out was chongyun, that boy damages so hard, without him my early Raiden and emblem set farming would have been a real nightmare. he pairs so well with the healers and if you have sucrose and Xiangling it's so much nicer early game. but tbh nearly every team combo you can imagine works nicely. just make sure they synergize decently
probably just not futureproof, building a bennett as a main dps is good early on because the level and talents you upgrade will even be useful as a support later on
@@rapsody230 early on you can just make him ur main damage dealer by investing in his levels and talents. even if u switch him to support later all those resources wont br wasted
i just rerolled a new account because ayaka is really op and i made really bad decisions on my first account, this was perfect to have clear goals and objetives, thanks for the video!
focus on characters levels, weapons and talents, artifacts wont matter until you reach AT LEAST AR45 but you shouldn't really care nor farm them until AR50 when you get 5* artifacts guaranteed, then you should try and make an early well rounded team, so lets say 1 main dps 2 supports or 1 off field dps and 1 support and a healer, and you MUST fight the necessity of building more dps characters, at least thats what happenend to me, i always wanted to try new dps and at the end i found out i didn't have a TEAM to actually use them as they should or getting their full potential because every support i had was low level, low talents or with bad artifacts because i didn't care for them. so, basically: 1: FOCUS on talents, weapons and character level in that order as those as secured upgrades for your characters 2: DON'T farm or don't ''care'' for artifacts until you can farm 5* artifacts a 100% of the time you do farm them 3: BUILD A TEAM not only dps, since elemental reactions and certain skills from some character cam make or break a dps or a team completely @@sewshy5850
Hi! I stumbled upon this video not too long ago so I started a new account to test out your tips and tricks! I’m currently at AR 32 and I just wanna say this video is very very helpful and I no longer struggle during my lower AR, I can even do difficult quests like chi of yore and the dragonspine domain quest with much less struggles. Thank you so much for making this video I’d be recommending this to my friends who just started playing genshin! :D
This is awesome - I found this a month or so ago, after playing Genshin since sometime in January, about a month and a half. So happy I found it! The clue of upgrading weapons, talents, and artifacts before talent level in most cases were so helpful1 I hadn't even realized I could upgrade talent levels, LOL. Love coming back to this video and refreshing the best focus at my point in the game :) Although, I'm still main DPS with my MC - I'm not used to the idea of using others as main yet, LMAO.
You sir are a game saver for me, I've started playing genshin when it first came out and kinda stopped playing around when i was AR28 i think. Since then I've been brute forcing the entire game, not knowing how to build my characters overall and was brute forcing everything with like 400 damage. I know it is my bad for not grinding enough but i never really knew what to do since the overall gameplay is free to do whatever you want. And your detailed guide on hoe to build team is the best, it explains what to do and how to do. Instead of saying stuff like get this set or get that character. With respect sir.
Wow I was not expecting a reply an hour later nevertheless at all when I commented on a video posted 6 months ago. We need more content creators like you!
Thanks for the guide! I played since the release (October 2020) on my console and reached AR55 before quitting around February 2021 during the Xiao/Ganyu banner. I played again using an account my friend gave me with Ayaka and Mona, this guide has been a blast! I've been progressing faster. I just needed to explore more. :)
I tried following this. Missed the laylines bit and was confused as to how tf do I level up my characters but this did help me feel more confidant in my play so that's nice
I wish I found this video when I was starting to play genshin, now I'm at 54 ar and I can barely kill the creatures of the world, but yea it's a very good video for someone starting their journey or someone like me. Thank you for making this!
You are welcome! The good news is that you can still recover. It will take some time but if you follow the principles in the video you'll be on your way to becoming OP!
Good Video! I played to AR8 on Genshin's release but got bored as there was no 'end game' content to inspire me to play. Recently my brain made me want to give the game a go again after looking up some abyss gameplay. Logged into my account, started playing back through the story and such then decided I needed a guide to really understand what I'm doing as I knew even from release that some things would make the experience harder long term (like levelling all characters equally). Found this vid... and so much info. Really helpful. 5 days into my return and I've gone from AR8 to AR 26 and the daily grind is so much more enjoyable when I have long term objectives alongside the in game story.
Really nice guide. Specially the significance of weapon leveling and artifacts leveling. Only issue I hv is that there won't be single main dps because as you progress through story and hit the elemental abyss enemies, you need counter elemental dps. So you need reliable 2-3 dps imo.
Have you been wishing for characters? I want to play itto but, seems like I need to wait to make him my main dps. So now I’m wondering out of the basic characters I have which to make the main dps lol
Worth noting some characters benefit much more from being leveled to 90 than others. Generally HP and DEF scalers, anyone who is primarily built to do transformative reaction damage (full EM build like some anemo characters), and an argument can be made for characters who are built with some EM and do some transformative reaction damage (e.g., pyro characters in overvape teams). But idk what the DPS increase looks like for the last group compared to other things
Was just at a Jays game the other day and saw probably 100 people cosplaying for this game (the convention centre is right next to the stadium and FanExpo was happening). That insane popularity plus a few of my persuasive degen friends have won me over and I am finally giving this game a try. Plus I've always wanted to play Breath of the Wild but will never drop 900$ for a crappy console and its controllers. This video is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for putting in the hard work, it has really helped me make sense of what I need to be prioritizing and has made the game very approachable. Looking forward to devouring more of your content when I've got some breaks in work.
I don't think I have seen any other video that really gave a good explanation for progressing through the game. Most videos say what to do vaguely, never really explaining what to level in such detail for new people .
It's still not a good tip. This video has misinformation and misguide new players that character levels don't matter that much. Character levels are way more important than you think. You have to make sure your team (at least 4 characters) are strong enough before ascending at ar 25. At ar 25 before ascending make sure your team is lvl 50.
I just started playing like a week or so ago. I'm adv. rank 24 now and basically have done everything that you described. Glad I found this video before I started going crazy on everyone I have so far.
This is still valid, just started the game about 18 days ago and was doing a lot of what this video said not to do. As I applied the information here to the game *wow* did it help! Thanks! Subscribed
Hmmm this makes so much sense and explains why I run into people with Lv 90 characters who can't get through Lv 90 domains (and get huffy about people bringing Lv 80 or lower characters) and I can get through the same content on my own with Lv 80 and 70 characters despite being an unskilled player (I'm not even lying, Super Mario is too hard for me). I started maxing out weapons and talents as soon as I could and then farming artifacts after that because you need like 20 boss drops for Lv 80 ascension, that's 300 resin you need to spend. I'd rather spend that resin else wear.
thanks sm, i’ve wanted to play genshin for so long but have been told so much to not due to it being “impossible” to play f2p, i love this game and you’ve helped sm
This has been hands down the most useful beginners guide for genshin I’ve ever watched! One thing I didn’t see mentioned that might be good for a guide is deciding what supports to level/team build. Unfortunately my team is super weak/immuned to electro 😢 so I’m trying to build a second team for electro bosses
Ah well thank you :) It's hard to says which characters are best since it's your team comp that matters overall, but some of the best supports include Bennett, Xingqiu, Sucrose, Diona, and Fischl.
@@sharkh3art brother I'm using kaeya , xainling, sucrose , Barbara and following you will this team help me go till Ar 45 ?? I have characters like (not including above mentioned) beidou , Noelle , diona , yun jin , aether, amber, Lisa I'm AR 27 NOW can you tell the perfect team i will make them as 2 nd team pretty please 🥺🫂
I only just started playing Genshin & very much overwhelmed with everything, what does what, what goes where. I've only done research on team comp so that I can focus on certain characters but other than that I'm kinda lost. So I'm glad I stumbled on your video, this makes things a little easier for me, thanks!
I'm super new to the game and actually gaming in general (other than casual games) and this guide was super helpful. You're very right that the game doesn't explain much and I've had to either use trial and error, Google or RUclips so far at the beginning. I started just leveling up everyone, assigning random artifacts and weapons, then realized what the artifact sets meant. Lol I really like Razor as my main DPS but my Traveler character isn't that bad to be honest. I just got Sucrose on a wish and keep seeing how good people say she is but it must be at higher levels? I'm still stuck on the Stormterror mission and can't beat Dvalin but I hope I can get there soon!! Now I have to look up talents to see what they are and how to use them.
Woo! I'm glad it helped! Sucorse is very good but she needs a special artifacts set which you probably won't farm until AR40+ so you can keep her in the back if you have other characters you like playing more :)
Thank you so muchSharkH3art! My level 70 Alhaitham has carried me through a lot of my gameplay. Following this guide, I was able to have an efficient and enjoyable Genshin journey.
2:30 Putting talent level at 2 and character level at 4 is a bit misleading/not clear and may throw off newer players since you can only level you talents after ascending your character i.e. increasing character level.
On the topic of picking a main dps, it's worth noting that even though the suggested main dps in the videos are strong contenders, it doesn't mean you can't use any of the other characters as a main dps, so if there's a character that you really enjoy playing that isn't on the list don't be afraid to main them. There are Amber(considered one of the worst dps) mains that outdps Ganyu(considered top tier dps) mains just from doing things better in other aspects to make up for what the character lacks(artifacts, skilled player etc.). Rintaichou is one of the best Amber mains i know of and he kills certain bosses faster with solo Amber than i can with certain "meta" characters such as ayaka or raiden. I do consider myself rather casual though, as i don't use proper meta supports such as xinqui/bennett/xiangling/sucrose despite having them at high constellations and i still don't find much issue clearing all the game content and rather enjoy the challenge of not being able to oneshot every single thing that exists in my world. Other than that, nicely made video. Goes through most of the things i wish i knew when i started. -Ningguang main
While I generally am a “husbando over meta” player, I still don’t really agree with your advice of “main whomever you want”, when it’s literal AR0 beginners we’re talking about. When you’re in endgame, it’s so easy to forget that early game just. doesn’t. have access to artifacts. So the “every character is viable when built well” principle absolutely does not work when we’re talking beginners. Imagine a beginner who genuinely likes Lisa. Or Diona. Being limited to 2* artifacts from chests and 2* weapons from blacksmith, they’re just screwed, and will most probably drop the game in a couple of days because it’s frustrating to spend 5 minutes killing a mitachurl with, say, Diona’s abysmal NA multipliers. I actually think his list of 4* DPS to choose from is _too generous_ for early game, because some of these characters (Xinyan, Bennett) are just way less efficient in DPSing than others (Kaeya, Razor, Yanfei), and in early game straightforward and efficient damage is crucial. And your “Ningguang main” sign-off is quite ironic because Ning is a classic efficient DPS: scales off ATK, low burst cost, very straightforward build. If you’d be, say, a Xingqui main, your point would hold a bit more weight. But with Ning it’s like saying “main who you love my dears! I main Kazuha and still do damage, so your unpopular fave can do it too!”.
@@jeremiahsmith916 Good thing lower world levels are scaled so that "good artifacts" aren't even needed. I've made a few alts cause i wanted to try both "meta" and non "meta" teams that i didn't have the resources to build and try on my main and it always surprises me how easy the world mobs are when compared to my main despite just using random 1 and 2 star artifacts i found from exploration. My alt's barbara with 1 and 2 star artifacts could kill mobs faster than my main's ningguang. Character level and weapon level factors way more into the overall power of the characters of a low ar player vs a high ar player, if your character is maxed for your current world level everything's easy till around ar40. If a new player truly likes Diona and wants to main her they will make it happen, i've had my fair share of encounters with people that had stuck to characters you would consider among the worst in terms of dps since the beginning cause they really enjoyed playing those characters.
What this guide fails to mention is that genshin is a 2 team game. Due to later stages of the abyss requiring 2 parties of 4 characters you need to pretty much follow every step of this guide 2x before moving on to the next one. So gear Dps for party 1 and then 2, then supports for party 1 and then 2 etc. Some good stuff to note is that Xiangling is probably the most efficient character all around while being free. Her team has been on top of the meta since release and she has incredibly low lv to endgame progression. Starting out you can just equip her with Crescent Pike(4* weapon that is craftable at the blacksmith) and build her physical. Once you get to the later stages you can transition her to a pyro dmg offfield dps.
@@Diana-Cherry-Blossom It is explained in the video. The priority list is per world level. Since leveling the character is last on the list they will still be ready to be ascended when your world level increases.
@@Diana-Cherry-Blossom Because your initial comment, without further context, appears to be arguing that leveling the character is higher priority. It gave the impression that you hadn't watched the rest of the video or misunderstood the reasoning used.
Greatly appreciate, I stopped playing in 1.0 and wanted to check the game out in patch 3.6 and was getting rolled by enemies, now I'm quite enjoying the game since I built my main dps properly.
This video is incredibly comprehensive and valuable! I just have one question though: at what point would it be appropriate to build a second dps character (if you pull for one or just have another character you really like)?
Thank you! Once you have your main DPS basically built you can switch to another if you have them. Usually that will be somewhere around level 60 or so. Alternatively, you can switch immediately and if your current main dps can be a sub dps you can have them fulfill that role.
While this guide is great a thing that most players should note I that at the very start of the game the weapons you get are 3 stars or some four stars that aren't viable on a lot of characters so instead of funneling resources into weapons that aren't very competitive you should focus on talent levels because as you progress and play events you might get great weapons for Characters that you might need to spend resources on to level up so I would suggest to focus on character levels and talent levels first as that is by far the best investment as no matter what its a permanent boost in power . Weapons in early game are shit that you will probably replace
Thank you, was looking for this comment. For instance I have Venti but his bow is less than ideal, also the guys says in his other video that I should ignore Ventis auto attacks...I mean how I ignore the auto attacks of the char I picked up for main dps? Why would I level his weapon? Makes no sense to me
I'm coming back after a 6months of quitting the game. This guide is much more detailed than any other guides out there. I have a few built characters but I need a refresher on character building since it's been a while. GJ man.
edit: maybe im in an endgame player mindset though and this might not be optimal for an early game player now that i think about it 2:10 I cant say that I agree with this. character level is quite important, you cant level up talents if your level is not high enough. also getting the right artifacts takes a really long time and a lot of resin. it is not guaranteed that you get good artifacts in a set amount of resin so I think they should be prioritized last. In my opinion, characters should be leveled first, than their talents and weapons, and then their artifacts. However, level 90 is usually overkill and really expensive so is only really recommended during endgame when you really want to min-max and don't have any other characters you want to level up.
I remember first playing this game a while, was rocking a chongyun xiangling fischel and barbara. looked like a strong team comp to me but I had no idea how to manage my resources throughout the game and so I struggled hard. Had multiple lvl 40 weapons with lvl 60 characters and was doing like no damage. I ended up scrapping the account and quitting for about a year or so but I've decided to come back after some time and I'm glad to have stumbled upon your vid. It's extremely detailed and helpful! Hopefully this time I'm able to have a smoother run through the game.
I still remember when I reached ~AR 40, I was struggling so much as I could barely do any damage. Reason why was because my characters were actually still at Lvl 40, weapons not really leveled, and I did not level up talents at all (I kinda didn’t know it existed somehow). So by the time I realized I needed to fight the bosses I never fought, it was either impossible or it would take like 10 minutes. The help I got from other players helped so much. I have an alternate account where I am strictly only able to wish on the Standard Banner. I’ve been experimenting with unfamiliar characters, but learned my mistakes. I still require some player help, but I can actually hold my own in the world
I just want to show appreciation to Sharkh3art for creating content like this. Before when I just first started, everything's so hard for me to understand. Reaction, artifacts, weapon choice, etc. But as long as you're following this guide, everything will be easy/much easier even in the mid/late game. I'm on ar 42 now and still kicking challenges/domains while having fun 💟. Best RUclips guide that I've ever seen, hands down 👌
my wife is REALLY into this game and has been playing since day one... I want to play with her but know NOTHING ... ty for the time and effort to make this guide!!!!!
You cant build a single character. I have a freeze ayaka team and i have no way to get her artifacts or ascend her since in both cases i have to fight ice enemies (with ice shields) which she cant kill
Hello, thanks a lot for this guide! I started yesterday, and have already corrected the mistake of distributing my levels to a bunch of characters. I feel a lot more back on track at AR10 with a main dps being built up. What I’m confused on now is party composition. My first question is, am I supposed to have a built team of 4 lvl 20 weapons + lvl 19 characters by AR 15? And secondly, how do I know which character goes well with my main, especially with the limited characters I have at my disposal? I’m afraid of building up 4 characters that don’t do all that well together and thus wasting time + resources :( Edit: lastly, will I ever have to worry about my AR and WL climbing faster than my character building process, or is that not an issue? Thanks again
Cool! I'm glad you found the guide early :) I also have a Start Strong Guide that could be a lot of help! It covers all the mistakes I made and how to avoid them. Your party comp can all be lv 19 with lv 20 weapons initially, but as I say in my start strong guide you want to then focus a main dps and invest in them and keep your supports about 10 levels under them (until your supports are all lv 60 ascended). The best way to know which characters go with your main are whichever ones can help make a lot of advantageous reactions. Elemental Reactions are the name of the game. That's something you'll have to play around with and figure out as there is a lot of variation between characters and accounts. But I would suggest focusing on a team that revolves around Melt, Vaporize, Freeze or Electrocharge. Those are the better reactions and generally it's easier to build teams around them. If your AR exp rises above your WL you can bank it and get all the exp when you ascend your WL so you don't have to worry about it losing AR exp.
I'm at ar35 and I legit can't beat the ascension quest. I'm gonna try and use this guide to help my team. EDIT: I BEAT IT😆😆😆😆 It took a day or so of building my dps the right way but i beat it😁 Really appreciate the people who make guides like this. Especially this one. Definitely subbing and will continue to look for your guides.
Im currently in adventurer lv 19. I have Noelle (lv40), Fischl (lv39), Barbara (lv0) and the rest are around level 20. I have been using Noelle is the lead character. Now what do i do with my characters? Should i wait to get Xiangling and use her as main/support? Should i accumulate level up materials and save it for fischl and Noelle? Or should i stop levelling up Noelle and instead focus on Barbara and Fischl or xiangling? Also should i focus all artifacts on main lead character and support only? Or spread them all? Any tips plizz. 🙏🤝
If you enjoy using Noelle I'd level her weapon and build her first, then Fischl as she is a sub dps, and do the same for Xinagling when you get her. For Barbara I'd give the thrilling tales of dragon slayers and just make her a healer by increasing her hp and ignoring any damage potential she has.
Noelle is very easy to get constellations for, being a 4 star, and you can save your currency to buy her const in paimon shop when she's around. At C6 she becomes an amazing choice for a dps, all the while being good at healing and shielding. The weapon you can forge, the Whiteblind, at refinement 5 is essentially her best-in-slot, so if you have any claymore billets they should go to her weapon. Artifact sets for her are plentiful, and def rolls on them shouldn't be hard to get - it's worth it getting both ATK and DEF rolls on her substats, and DEF% on an off-piece

So I just started playing on Xbox when it came out. Ifind your guides to be a great help. When you showing the best 4 Stars and 5 Stars for DPS characters, I unfortunately have no idea who you were talking about because I don't know them by picture.
You must have been sent by the gods because I actually found this video when I was at a roadblock with levelling my characters. Thank you so much for this!

@SharkH3art Truly the best guide. But it kind of assumes you will not change characters. My main DPS right now is Traveler and I am AR24. I know I will be dropping traveler as soon as I save enough to get something good on a banner.
True, I seen many guide but I think this is best guide for beginners
@@spartanxxv Eventually: pick who you want and get to the AR you need to pre-farm them. before that: Build a character to be good enough to get you to that world level while still being able to actually grind the world itself.
I just (re-)started the game this weekend, after only playing a few hours during the original launch, so this video is coming out at the perfect time! Been unsure of the how I should be handling leveling (especially artifacts), so this video is going to be incredibly helpful. Can't wait till I jump back on and put it into practice.

I reached AR 30 and started having a lot of trouble with enemies. I found this guide, and it took a while to correct the initial problems I had, but now I’m at A35 WL 3 and am clearing everything easily. (haven’t increased world level to 4 yet)

It's actually nice to hear that weapons aren't all that expensive to advance. I've been avoiding it waiting for weapons I like, and at AR28 that's starting to catch up to me.
Nice!
No problem! You can always recover in this game but it will take time and it sounds like you're on the right path
How the hell did you get ar 40 in 3 weeks dam my best account is 22 and I played for like 2 months but I started a new one because I was more Familiar with the game but I probably only played 3 hours a day tops some days nothing at all or even multiple days so maybe thats probably why

Dude your guides are insane! I am an Excel chaser for mmropgs. This is extremely good intel
Wow thanks! That means a lot
Holy shirt, man! I've been doing things all over the place, thank barbatos I just found your guide, still AR 21 here!

THIS! Choosing the right equipments is as important as having them leveled up.
The schedule is a great tool. I ended up finding my own way to that kind of rotation naturally, and glad to see it's endorsed by a pro. :)
Great to hear!

I'm now AR55 and all my fragile resins remain untouched, thanks to this video I handled my resources properly by leveling up only the characters and weapons/artifacts I need
I suggest rushing to AR45 (although you might hit a road bump at Signora) to start grinding on Shimenawa/Emblem set, you can always do coop on this domain since a lot of players do
Update:
I finally beat abyss floor 12 on my 5th month of playing, but only 33 stars since I started lacking damage on my team 2 on chambers 2 and 3
Awesome!

It's okay! I made the same mistake before and you can def recover :)
As a beginner f2p player

My pleasure! So glad to help 🙂
Its worth noting that leveling talents from 6 to 9 takes weeks, so dont expect a quick damage increase
You can speed it up by just making condensed resin the day before (I start the day before that day with leaving only 1 condensed resin so I get 5 total) and then have an additional 4 more condensed resin from today to spend on the day the talent book is on.
Total of 9 condensed resins to use in the domain roughly 2-3 times a week.

one early main DPS I saw left out was chongyun, that boy damages so hard, without him my early Raiden and emblem set farming would have been a real nightmare. he pairs so well with the healers and if you have sucrose and Xiangling it's so much nicer early game. but tbh nearly every team combo you can imagine works nicely. just make sure they synergize decently

My pleasure! I'm glad to help :D
What should i do/not do to avoid having to reroll new account? (New player ar10)
focus on characters levels, weapons and talents, artifacts wont matter until you reach AT LEAST AR45 but you shouldn't really care nor farm them until AR50 when you get 5* artifacts guaranteed, then you should try and make an early well rounded team, so lets say 1 main dps 2 supports or 1 off field dps and 1 support and a healer, and you MUST fight the necessity of building more dps characters, at least thats what happenend to me, i always wanted to try new dps and at the end i found out i didn't have a TEAM to actually use them as they should or getting their full potential because every support i had was low level, low talents or with bad artifacts because i didn't care for them.
so, basically:
1: FOCUS on talents, weapons and character level in that order as those as secured upgrades for your characters
2: DON'T farm or don't ''care'' for artifacts until you can farm 5* artifacts a 100% of the time you do farm them
3: BUILD A TEAM not only dps, since elemental reactions and certain skills from some character cam make or break a dps or a team completely

Was just at a Jays game the other day and saw probably 100 people cosplaying for this game (the convention centre is right next to the stadium and FanExpo was happening). i thought weapons were the least important so i have them at around lvl 20
Thank you! I made it because I know there is a lot of confusion around this what is best to level up :)
Nice!

Nice! It looks you did the right thing :)

2:30 Putting talent level at 2 and character level at 4 is a bit misleading/not clear and may throw off newer players since you can only level you talents after ascending your character i.e. increasing character level.
I just understood that. I tried doing exactly the way the video says and I could'nt level talents without ascending
I've been following these steps and i just want to tell you that you saved me and thanks to you my gaming exprience is just better than when i started
Man I’m new to the game and im ar20 I’ve been watching some guides but this one is pure gem straightup. He deserves more subs man respect
Thank you!
Me watching this video well knowing I won’t listen to it
This is the most comprehensive guide I have ever seen. I wish I had seen this when I started, will save this for friends getting into the game
2:10 You can't raise talent level before character level because talent levels are locked behind the level of the character.
You can ascend them and then level talents before leveling the character further. Ascending and raising a character's level are two different things.
@@Nowaylarry you still need to level them up before ascending....
@@Diana-Cherry-Blossom It is explained in the video. The priority list is per world level. Since leveling the character is last on the list they will still be ready to be ascended when your world level increases.
@@Nowaylarry my point still stands true. I did not say anything incorrect idk why you feel the urge to argue with me on this
@@Diana-Cherry-Blossom Because your initial comment, without further context, appears to be arguing that leveling the character is higher priority.
Alternatively, you can switch immediately and if your current main dps can be a sub dps you can have them fulfill that role.
thats an eazy sub, perfectly explained and super helpful
While this guide is great a thing that most players should note I that at the very start of the game the weapons you get are 3 stars or some four stars that aren't viable on a lot of characters so instead of funneling resources into weapons that aren't very competitive you should focus on talent levels because as you progress and play events you might get great weapons for Characters that you might need to spend resources on to level up so I would suggest to focus on character levels and talent levels first as that is by far the best investment as no matter what its a permanent boost in power . Weapons in early game are shit that you will probably replace
But that weap you invest can be used as a mats to level up the later weapon right ? So is it still worth imvesting at 3 stars weap early?
Thank you, was looking for this comment. For instance I have Venti but his bow is less than ideal, also the guys says in his other video that I should ignore Ventis auto attacks...I mean how I ignore the auto attacks of the char I picked up for main dps? Why would I level his weapon? Makes no sense to me
I'm coming back after a 6months of quitting the game. This guide is much more detailed than any other guides out there. I have a few built characters but I need a refresher on character building since it's been a while. GJ man.
edit: maybe im in an endgame player mindset though and this might not be optimal for an early game player now that i think about it
2:10 I cant say that I agree with this. character level is quite important, you cant level up talents if your level is not high enough. also getting the right artifacts takes a really long time and a lot of resin. it is not guaranteed that you get good artifacts in a set amount of resin so I think they should be prioritized last.
I still require some player help, but I can actually hold my own in the world
Yeah weapons and talents play a huge role in dmg. I'm glad you were able to fic all of that and are all good now :)
Seems like im not the only one who struggle with being weak in game, thank you so much for the information, i'll try it, I'm a new plyer
My pleasure!
Best RUclips guide that I've ever seen, hands down 👌
Thank you so much!
my wife is REALLY into this game and has been playing since day one... I want to play with her but know NOTHING ... ty for the time and effort to make this guide!!!!!
You are more than welcome! I hope you two can enjoy the game together!
You cant build a single character. I have a freeze ayaka team and i have no way to get her artifacts or ascend her since in both cases i have to fight ice enemies (with ice shields) which she cant kill
I just started playing genshin. And this guide is very helpful for a beginner like me. Thanks for this.
My pleasure! I made it because I wished there was something like this when I first started.
I’m afraid of building up 4 characters that don’t do all that well together and thus wasting time + resources :(
Edit: lastly, will I ever have to worry about my AR and WL climbing faster than my character building process, or is that not an issue?
@@sharkh3art you’re a lifesaver, subbed 🙏
@@MO-zk8qs Thanks!
I have been playing since May 2023 as a new player, and I reached AR55 in Sep 2023. This guide has helped me quite a lot. Cheers, SharkHart!
Great! I had the same issue when I started so that's what I made it for :)
i love story quest but i was doing 6 damage at level 39, you saved me, literally been waiting for strangers to help me finish quest
Nice I'm glad to help!
Me a ar 58 and clearing spiral 36 stars since 2.1 and on mobile.. Yes yes
Haha nice :)
One of the best guides I've ever seen. Love.
@@sharkh3art Tons of thanks to you 🤝👍
@@ramor4743 You're welcome :)
I just love this person's videos. So wholesome.
Thank you!

0:01 - Start
0:25 - Tip #0: This game is more about resource management (All gacha games have this in mind. Saving and deciding when to use resources are great for progression.)
1:19 - **Big Tip #1:** Build one character at a time! (You'll be losing sanity micromanaging every resource for a team's worth of characters. Better to optimize one character at a time rather than optimizing a lot of characters. Doing the latter will net you slower progressing account.)
1:31 - **Big Tip #2:** Build a Main DPS Character, especially if you are new to the game. (With this in mind, you can reliably beat enemies while the others act as support for your main DPS char. By prioritizing a main DPS, it'll be easier to farm the materials for other characters in the team.)

So I just started playing on Xbox when it came out. Ifind your guides to be a great help.
When you showing the best 4 Stars and 5 Stars for DPS characters, I unfortunately have no idea who you were talking about because I don't know them by picture.
This guide has made me go from AR 7 to AR34 in just a week, I could've probs go to 45-50AR If I wasn't busy with other things and damn the drops.
Nice! And yeah RNG can be bad sometimes but I'm glad you were able to progress so well!
You must have been sent by the gods because I actually found this video when I was at a roadblock with levelling my characters. Thank you so much for this!
A little correction, the tri-seal chest in monstadt gives a 4* feather, so level 15-24 players don't need 3* feathers anymore
what u talking about ? do chests respawn ? wich one u talking specially ? cuz 4* are still good as fuel ....
it is a good video as always :)
All the guides fueled me with too much info that didn't help at all this one is well built and comprehensive love it.
