I would also put Diona as an honorable mention her shielding, healing, and battery capabilities for a main dps like Eula are all qualities that shouldn't be underestimated.
She's amazing! It was between her and Xiangling but tbh the fact that one of the top DPS is absolutely free to play makes it hard to put Diona over her. And for Fischl there's just so many characters with energy problems that she's more valuable now. But Diona was in the running and definitely #6.
Diona carried my account since when I first got her on her initial release. I was a total noob back then and with all my shortcomings she really helped me push through this game and get me to where I am today. I have such an appreciation for her because of this that she will always have her own bar in my teapot!
I'd give some of my own personal honorable mentions also to beidou and rosaria, but that's mostly down to my own personal preferences, also its probably because recently I've been using a national team variant with rosaria as the flex character, it is kinda sad that they don't make good all rounder supports anymore, diona and rosaria are the only 4 stars post launch that have been truly on par with the launch ones in my opinion, a lot of them now are pretty niche
Yeah. But i hate everything about her. Quite literally the only character in the game i don't like and actually despise. So in my list she is last of the last
My exact top 5 as well. These launch characters have proven themselves top notch and valuable assets to any account. However, special mention should be given to Diona. She’s a great shielder, healer, and battery. Also she’s the only 4* non-launch character that’s on par with these 5.
Beidou works in less team comps though, and she has a lot of trouble getting her burst up without sacrificing dmg for er, I don’t think she has any good f2p weapon options
Honestly, I wish I started off heavily investing in 4-star Tazer and Reverse Melt teams when I started on launch rather than investing in some of the launch 5-stars. It's wild how much better the characters in this video aged better than practically every launch 5-star in the game. XQ+Sucrose+Beidou+Fischl and Bennett+Xiangling+Kaeya+Rosaria/Chongyun will take you really far into the game.
You can also use em+pearl barbara in tazer teams. Barbara with fishl, beidou, sucrose is my go to team for abyss. 2x electro lets me use barbara as trigger.
hmm i think its okay to invest on hypercarries on early game, and you can use said hypercarries to farm artifacts for the characters in this video. Like for example you invested on Diluc, and you can use Diluc to farm the Emblem set for XL, XQ, etc.

This is just my experience, but I truly think everyone should at least have a *Noelle* decently built. She gets rate-ups fairly often, consolidates shielding and healing for Geo DPSs, and can even become the DPS if you get a Geo support. Edit: changed "constellations" to "rate-ups" to account for bad luck.
I build her and get R4 whiteblind for her and regret it I know she is very good at C6 but I don't get even a single constellations, C0 noelle is kinda bad late game Now my kaeya is C2 and beidou C6, should have build them instead lol
@Kabir Vazirani Noelle carried me through for months and her flexibility is great, but yeah, you hit real problems with her unless you've got her c6. I've got her at C5 and benched (except when I really need a 2nd geo shield + healer; morax stole her slot on a lot of teams) until I get her c6 at which point she'll come back as burst DPS sometimes.
Funny how all those characters are in the game since lautch. We will probably never get new 4* as good as those 5 because Mihoyo is scared of making another broken da broken 4*
@@akamistify I can't even get a 90s PMA clear in 12-1 abyss with a C1R2 reverse melt Ganyu, she's not that broken. More like Venti, situationally broken
@@prawtism bruh you cant? Maybe you just suck? I use ganyu, diona/zhongli, Bennet, xiangling My ganyu cleared the abyss (max of 90secs) 36 stars ever since ive minmaxed her. Ive only just pulled amos bow but even then i still managed to (90secs) 36 stars the abyss without it (using f2p craftables) Edit: yes ganyu isnt that broken but sayong she cant do what you just said is clearly just you showing you just suck. Another one is that the current abyss12 has a def buff against charged shots and even then i can still do what you cant (c0 r5hamayumi/r1amos)

@@TacticalDimples that’s a terrible thing because that introduces power creep. Every unit would need to better than the last, until it gets to a point where the game dies because of it. It makes you feel terrible for spending money to get a unit only for one after to be much better. I’d prefer genshin not go down that route, they’re doing a relatively good job with game balance despite a few being very weak or too strong
For me the most useful 4 stars have been Diona, Sucrose, Yanfei, and Fischl. When it comes to availability the fact Sucrose is competitive with Kazuha is pretty damn impressive.
I'd like to add info for Xiangling's weapon. Since Raiden's rerun is right around the corner, F2P players may wonder who will be using the The Catch. There is another weapon that Xiangling can use beside it, the Wavebreaker's Fin. TCs made videos showing the numbers and it proves that it could compete and beat the Catch's damage output, allowing Raiden or other characters to use make use of the Catch instead
I'm new but I heard good things about crescent pike, I've saved up primos and started farming r5 the catch for raiden, I use crescent pike for my xiangling, currently at R2 cp, is wavebreaker fin better for xiangling?
@@viego29 if you're building xiangling as phys dps then yes crescent pike is good. But if you're building her where she is good at which is applying pyro or sub dps then wave breaker or the catch is definitely better.
My favorite meta 4 stars would be bennett, Xingqiu, Xiangling and chongyun The OG china (National) team. This team paved the way for TC's to provide strong meta team comps being the 4 characters mentioned as the basis for the several national teams we know of today (Rational, international, dual national etc)
fischl was my first lvl 90 character and her utility is absolutely insane. she’s a great main dps who doesn’t even need too much field time to deal a lot of dmg! i have all of these characters, all i need to do is raise xiangling and build her along with xingqiu and sucrose!!
People seem to forget about Barbara a lot. I've put some investment into her and she's been invaluable. She's saved my azz so many times and is always going to be a part of my team when I challenge tougher content.
She's pretty good, specially now that she can contribute to dmg with 4pc clam and can hold TTDS on top of that, plus apply hydro for taser, vaporize or freeze teams. Imo she's only not top 5 because Xingqiu can apply hydro off field and is a sub dps so he's usually used over her unless you need a healer. Also, while Sucrose can't apply hydro ofc, she also competes as a support slot in the same teams (freeze, vape, taser) as a TTDS holder who can also use 4p VV but doesn't heal Barbara is definitely underrated tho and idk what I'd do without her when the abyss had corrosion everywhere
Barbara is going to be the first crowned unit on my squad. Barbara was the only hydro unit I had for the longest time, so she got tons of investment. The only person who hits harder on my squad now is Ganyu, but Barbara is still my queen. Even with Ganyu, Barbara pretty much defeated Signora in single combat. I recently brought Xingqiu home, but i haven't built him because I'm team Barbara (although i would like to have Ayato for a Freeze Ganyu team variant). My overworld squad is based on a melt Ganyu (Ganyu and Xiangling), and a vaporize Barbara (Barbara and Xiangling), with Barbara and Ganyu also working together for freeze, and Anemo Traveller for debuff. I'm currently building my Bennett and saving for Kazuha (while also building my Sucrose, although not adamantly since my Anemo Traveller is ascended past lvl 80). But yes, Barbara needs all the props and recognition. With the 4pcs Heart of Depth, her elemental skill not only gets a huge damage buff, but it also heals everyone on the team with every punch. AND she almost never misses. I love that her attack does not travel from point A to Point B. It manifest itself directly on the enemy. She can be behind a wall and she will still slap someone in the face (like my boy Will)

Thanks for the video Brax! Sucrose is so lovely, and she's the only character that can provide 80% of her utility at level 1, with artifacts at level 0 and a weapon at level 1. She's just purely insane. I really hope she's on Raiden's rerun banner! ^^
@@prawtism Then you might not be using her correctly. If you give her a level 0 viridescent venerer set and an R5 Thrilling Tales of the Dragon Slayers weapon, she will maybe even double your main DPS damage.
One of the most used character in 1 Shot showcase , compared to one of the best Anemo(Kazuha) and competively better than C0 Kazuha depending on situation. How is that underrated?
@@bananagod5530 Because I've seen a lot of people claiming C0 Kazuha is better than C6 Sucrose. You can argue that's the vocal minority but it still makes sense how people would assume Sucrose is underrated if most of the community you read praises C0 Kazuha > C6 Sucrose.
Xingqui was one of my first units and I'm using him constantly. I just got my boi to C6 thanks to the recent banners. Yeah, he's amazing. Mihoyo really created some secret 5 stars in the beginning. When we'll get to Sneznaya, people will still be using Xingqui and Bennett xD

I never thought about it, but yeah, Hidro IS the best element for reactions. Freeze, electrocharged and vape are all top notch reactions. I think Mona and XQ would never have as much popularity if not for that, honestly
@@KamisatoElias electro charged is actually broken in ST too because it enables overvape, in ST situations overload won't have any drawback it will simply be tons of extra dmg, electro-charge is also the reason soup teams work. I think electro-charge and freeze are the best reactions by far in the game, electro-charge for how versatile and powerful it is, freeze for how it disables most enemy mechanics
Ah yes, the classics. These days the 4-star becomes more niche, like if they're put in the right team they're super valuable, while the classics are just timelessly and flexibly useful in many teams.
As a 2-month-old player, I have been playing right as I've been trying to build all these characters as soon as I got them... except for Fischl. It took me a while to see how great she actually is and understand how to use her. Now I use her the most often out of these five. XD
They're the obvios Top 5 four stars, but the way he explained their roles and reasoning of their placement makes this a great video for beginners of the game!
I got Bennett c1 within the first couple of weeks of playing Genshin Impact and he's been on my team ever since. As soon as I got Xiangling they have been inseparable. Now they are both supporting Ganyu in a melt team that never ceases to amaze. I managed to get Fischl from the starglitter shop and Sucrose from the standard banner and Xingqiu relatively recently as well. Together with my former main star Beidou they are holding up the other side of the abyss with the amazing taser team. I can wholeheartedly recommend building all of these characters. So as far as Brax's list is concerned I 100% agree, and I would add special mentions to Diona, Rosaria and Beidou. Unfortunately Diona has managed to dodge my summoning sessions thus far. She's the only other 4 star I need :(
Fischl and Chongyun were the first characters I pulled, and alongside Bennett they have carried my whole game so far. There's not enough love for the 4 stars in the community.
Started playing in December and I'm only missing four 4 stars- Bennett, Sayu, Kujo Sara, and Gorou. Really looking forward to getting Bennett since like every team comp recommendation has him listed. Definitely love playing with the other four mentioned and excited to use three of them in my Sukokomon team in a few days when Kokomi comes back, in the meantime, I've used Xingqiu instead and the team is still fun!
11:11 To answer your question, I built all of them and enjoy all of them. It's funny that getting 36-star Abyss is easy even tho the only 5-star character I built (for damage) is C0 Ganyu and perhaps, C0 Raiden, altho her dmg without C2 is underwhelming. However, this shows that Mihoyo planned from the very beginning to let players win the game without needing to pull A LOT of 5-star characters. Obviously, different characters can fulfill different tasks better than other characters. so hopefully they will keep on balancing new characters and contents so that it seems fair for many players so that power creeps do not exist. For example, Kazuha outshines Venti in nowadays content/Abyss, just because in Venti's niche, NO ONE can beat Venti, which will make Kazuha seems underwhelming while Venti only needs to tap a button and all the mobs get grouped and die - this will be even better with quadratic scaling from Ganyu's burst. Edit: Before I even watch the video, I would guess that they are Bennett/Xiangling/Xingqiu/Sucrose. The flex slot might be Kaeya/Beidou/Fischl. Yep, did not go wrong. I don't feel that Raiden's C0 damage is underwhelming personally, but I'm glad you liked the video. We'll see how Hoyoverse decides to balance characters in the future, hopium that there's more solid ones!
These top 5 support/SubDPS characters will always have a place in teams whoever the main DPS is. Good thing I already have all of them! Here's to others getting it too!
I wanted Bennett since launch when I read his talents/abilities. I was always annoyed when the others kept saying Bennett is trash back then when he’s always been this broken. I’m glad he’s so popular now and those others finally understood how to use him.
Got all of them, except for Fischl, within the first month I started playing Genshin :) Thinking back now, I was quite fortunate to have gotten almost all the OP support units from the get go-- though I still struggled a bit cause I had good support units but not enough DPS units :') Good thing Beidou also came along and Sucrose and her carried me through to mid game. I would also recommend building Kaeya if you don't have a good Cryo unit at the start. He's a very good cryo enabler and can be built as a physical/cryo dps.
My wife started playing recently and stuck with Kaeya as one of her main subdps characters. Even very low level, and a r1 Sac sword, he is almost always throwing out ice, or spinning it around him. Makes me regret benching him extremely early on!
@@J.sh_CDN Yup! He’s by far the best off field Cryo enabler imo. I didn’t start building him until late game, after I got Childe, and by the gods, he works really well with Childe freeze comp since he gets up and close with his melee stance ^^ His burst doesn’t cost much energy either and if you manage to get lucky and get his cons, he only gets better and better.
I have Xianling and Saccharose in my main fighting team and I love them!! I want Bennett and Fischl so badly, but I wasn't lucky until now... I hope they will appear in a banner soon again
All true. I have all five of these and they are extremely powerful. But then almost all characters in Genshin Impact seemed viable tbh. That's the beauty of the game. If you don't want to be a copycat by building XQ and XL and feel like a robot, it's okay. There are a other 4-star options you can invest on that will yield great results: -Diona is the second best support imho (second to Zhongli, a 5-star), and to imagine she's 4-star. Damn. Battery, shields and heals for days. Cryo application is just the cherry on top. Just need damage for the other 3 characters. Diona's got you protected, especially if you don't have Bennett. -Ningguang is probably the strongest 4-star DPS of them all. These characters mentioned in the vid are just sub-DPS units with no need to eat field time. For people unlucky with ER or rotations, that's a problem delegating a person doing all the normal attacks. Notice all these characters on the vid have its normal attack talents underleveled. They're not built for DPS role. Luckily, there's Ningguang. With a 40 energy cost burst, less reliance on EM and just plug and play to create violence? Yum! -Beidou is also not mentioned here. Her burst is to die for. AOE? Check. Protection? Check. Damage buff? Check. Also a great sub-DPS unit if you have no Xingqiu or Xiangling. Best paired with Fischl and/or Sucrose. There are other characters that won't crack the top 8 of 4-stars that can still be super valuable if built well, but there are noticeable weaknesses. Yanfei (stamina), Rosaria (niche on certain enemies), Kaeya/Chongyun (awkward role as normal attacker or sub-DPS), Barbara (niche role as healer and nothing else), Yun Jin/Xinyan (niche for certain character pairings), Kujou Sara/Noelle (niche for max constellations), among others. Still, dont be surprised if anyone I mentioned if given max artifacts (with correct main stats) and weapon levels can clear the entirety of overworld content. To make things short, pick what you want and enjoy. Chances are it will work if hard work is applied.
Besides the 5 characters mentioned in the video, I'm also working on 8 other characters, with 7 of them being 4 star characters: -Yanfei: works well in tandem with Xingqiu for those Vaporize reactions as she is a catalyst user whose normal attacks, skill and burst all deal pyro elemental damage (Vaporize 24/7) -Kaeya: I use him as a Burst Support for Melt reactions (works nicely with Xiangling's Burst, Hu Tao's Skill/Charged Attacks, and Klee's Burst). He is also Cryo so half of Cryo Resonance Boost -Rosaria: Also Burst Support, Half of Cryo Resonance and one of her passives allows the increase of Crit Rate on Party Members -Diona: shield support, healer and Cryo energy regenerator/battery. Once again, Half of Cryo Resonance -Chongyun: only for Burst Support and because I would like to try him on National Team -Beidou: the fun to her high risk high reward style of play using her Elemental Skill (also a badass Electro Momma Pirate) -Ningguang: I don't have any Geo characters built, and her new dress made me want to build her. Plus I've heard from friends who've built Ningguang that she's a very good DPS -Lasty Klee because Bom Bom Bakudan is fun xd I've calculated that it'll take me approximately three months to level them up all to 90/90, with talents varying between 9/9/9 or 6/9/9
I can attest to building Ning, her charge shots and burst rips through enemies. Only thing to note is you must have geo resonance with her (Geo traveller/zhongli are the two most frequently used)
As a melt Chongyun lover, he can get pretty good damage on his skills. With my F2P build, I’ve seen his E melt w/ crit for 30k which is about as high as my Diluc’s third E melt w/ crit at 32k, both only with Zhongli shield shred. I’d defs recommend going EM sands for best melt damage if you can or at least bringing an EM support or Instructor set holder for him. A Prototype Archaic with any 2pc combo of Noblesse, Gladiator/Shimenawa, and Blizzard is just fine for him. He does well with Benny and Xiangling but I’d throw in another cryo (Rosa/Kaeya/Diona) or specifically anemo (Sucrose, Jean, Kazuha) for C6 ult quad melt instead of XQ if you want the melt damage to shine through.

I wanna nominate Noelle cause she really is underrated. Properly built, she can play as DPS, healer, or shield user. You don't need any constellations for her either, but they do help. And Noelle is even more f2p than most of this list cause you have to pull everyone but Xiangling. Noelle is guaranteed from the one starting gacha.
Im a Fischl Main since launch, pulled her four times in a ten pull along with three ventis back in time. But still, I was happier to get fischl, since she was and still is my favourite character. I never stopped playing her and im so happy that shes gonna get her skin in the near future :)
I'm new to the game and it's fortunate I came across this because now I know I have three really good units in my team already. I got Sucrose and Bennett just a week in between ☺️ and I got Xiangling when I used my free wishes for Noelle.
I NEED Sucrose in my life! I've been wanting her for so long, and she's the only one on your list I don't have yet. I wish she was in Paimon's bargains, a guaranteed Sucrose twice a year would be great!
Yea i wanted her so much for over half a year now lol tried wishing for her but got raiden instead its a an amazing blessing and a curse.because of that i still dont have her Edit:bruh I’m at 67 pity with 25+ wishes with guaranteed but I don’t want any of the 5 star so i guess imma wait for more months lol
I know this is controversial, but I'd swap Oz for Beidou in your list. My F2P alt had hit a point where it struggled a lot, in spite of having a decent Yanfei/Xingqiu combo. But as soon as I built Beidou, it started feeling as I had activated easy mode! My alt struggled in a lot of domains, which forced me to farm them in co-op; but once I got Beidou, it started being able to clear every single domain and boss!
@@choco7232 A lot of teams include both because they synergize well together, but you don't need Fischl for electro particle generation. People overstate Beidou's burst cost, it's quite easy to gain enough energy without even running double electro. Even if you are running double electro the other electro does not need to be fischl due to the nature of electro resonance.

Thinking it through a bit more, I think Brax is considering 4* characters at C0. At C0, I think Oz beats Beidou. Just to make it clear, I never said Oz is bad; it's just that C2 Beidou is so, SO busted!
I think this is a pretty good guide for new players and it does show you don’t need a huge amount of 5 star characters to create great teams. I think one 4-star that flies under the radar is Diona. I use her in my freeze comp team (Ganyu, Mona, Sucrose) and her utility absolutely makes that team. While Ganyu, Mona and Sucrose deal stupid amounts of damage, Diona’s shielding and healing ability is the glue that keeps it together. One of my favorite teams that I use is Eula, Zhongli, Bennett and Fischl. The balance of this team is just ridiculous. Eula does a dumb amount of damage, Zhongli is what I call “game on easy mode” shielder and then you’ve got Bennett bringing the heals and support and Fischl dealing off-field electro damage. I seriously take this team just about everywhere because it has so much utility. For what he brings to every team, it’s amazing Bennett is a 4-star. Since I just drew Raiden, I’m just now starting to try and build better Xiangling and Xingqui units. I’ve heard they can be really good units, but I’ve struggled to build them and find the teams that fit them the best. Another really solid 4-star I like to use is Beidou. I don’t use her quite as much now since I’ve been drawing more 5-stars, but she is a really good electro unit if you play her right. One of my favorite all 4-star teams is Beidou, Bennett, Fischl and Xiangling. That team absolutely wrecks that wolf boss (forget his name) and just smokes Cryo enemies in-general.
Wow I have 5 very good characters, didn't know that (im still kinda new to genshin and this sort of games so I don't really know what I'm doing at times so these videos really help)
I love Fischl but I definitely would have put Diona in the list over her (heal and shield... yes please). Otherwise I agree. I'm one of those people who might discount Bennett a bit, but that's because he's more of a paramedic instead of a healer. I pretty much refuse to run him without at least Xingqiu to hopefully bump up the amount healed. I'll also run him with Diona and they can cover for each other's weaknesses a bit. He's an amazing character but it does trigger me a bit when people call him "the best healer" when he leaves so much healing on the table compared to other options. Admittedly, I was a bit spoiled in that department having pulled Jean on the beginners banner and then getting Diona/Fischl as my next new characters after the guaranteed characters.
fischl need constellation to be good, Diona doesn't (since you don't need her to deal damage) So my vote also goes to the best cat barista from mondstadt
I don’t understand the misconception that Bennett can’t be a good healer. His heal ticks can easily reach 6k or higher which can overheal over the 70% hp threshold he has.
I know she’s not that popular, but I would also recommend Yanfei. Her charged attack does very nice damage and she works great for melt and vape comps (also she does great with Bennett!)
For some reason these are the characters that i got first from standard banner... Except Bennett whom I had to buy from starglitter shop, but still i was meant to be meta slave i guess
I dont have sucrose but I have every other character mentioned here levelled and helps me so much in spiral abyss. Also Diona is my Mini Zhongli she saves me with her insanely cracked shield and healing for a 4 star.
I'm one of the none bennetts believer as I conquered my first spiral abyss at ar47 29stars without him. Back then it takes forever to reach ar45. Like 5-9 weeks to hit ar47. Of all the four stars, to me surcose is the best as she can be the main dps for one chamber
I got three out of 5 in this list. And as a guy who just played for a month, I can already feel Benni Bouken and Xiangling/Shanrin's power whenever I roam around. For Fischl/Fisshuru, I haven't tried her yet, but will definitely do one of these days.

for Sucrose I use sacrificial fragments so I can use her skill 3x. Sukokumon is insane (Sucrose, Kokomi, Xiangling, Yae Miko or Fishl). I had problems to get 2 stars on floor 12. But with that team I managed to do 6 stars
I'm going to build them now ty for the suggestions, but I'd like to add Diona to the list since she's also in a lot of team comps and is amazing at healing, shielding, and battery.
Only characters I haven't built are kaeya,Amber,Lisa,aloy,Thomas and gorou which is half built. I've been playing since release and I've built over 32 characters so far
Hi, thank you for the tips! I just started genshin a few days ago and is AR 15 atm. I got xiangliang and fischl on the newbie banner. Great that I invested on them and they'll be great having as I play farther on.
i like videos like this! very entertaining and also gave me some ideas on who to build next which is always an issue :') I'd love to see one on weapons or good artifact sets that many characters use, so i know which domain to grind a lot to have excess pieces for!
I also wanna add Xinyan to the mix because she's in my main party (and has been since I got her), and they way she's been built she's easily comparable to the 5*s she shares the party with. Of course, now with Dehya (AKA Xinyan and Beidou's Sumeruan love child) coming out in the near future, Xinyan's position in main might be threatened...

Kaeya and Rosaria generally a similar purpose but slightly different, kaeya has a very strong burst and pretty strong skill which snapshots and can have really big uptime once you have c2, the burst also follows you arround which is great for mobs that like to move a lot or get knockbacked. However he doesn't have the best consistent cryo application. Rosaria just like kaeya has a very strong elemental burst and at c2 can even outbeat kaeya's dmg however it is stationary and limited to a circle, but it has great elemental application of cryo. She also has a passive that shares crit rate with everyone in her party which is always a nice bonus. Beidou has relatively bad elemental generation and requires a battery but once her energy is full and she can burst it shreds any kind of content where thare is more than 1 enemy, with 2 enemies being the ideal dps scenario. Beidou's burst jumps between enemies and gets additional bounces at c2 maxing to 5 total bounces, in 2 enemy scenario it means 1 enemy gets hit 3 times while the other gets hit 2 times. The burst can be triggered once every second when a normal or charge attack hits an enemy which makes it great for fast attackers like yoimiya or sucrose. The burst also has extremly high poise dmg what it means is that it staggers the enemy way faster and thus stops them from attacking. She also has a counter which when timed well produces more energy, does more dmg, and also is very satisfying. and lastly Diona is probably THE best cryo support in the game, she can heal, she can shield, she can hold noblesse, at c6 she gives a ton of elemental mastery, and especially with a favonius or sacrificial bow (sacrificial more important for cryo energy hungry memebers) she can generate a lot of energy with her Hold E. If built with full HP she also can shield pretty well, and extremly well against cryo attacks.
Best top 5 ever. And the best thing is that all of them are 4 stars. You will get them all eventually. However I'd like to add some special mentions. Diona, Chongyun, Kaeya, Rosaria, Mona and Jean are also incredible characters, Mona and Jean can both be DPS as well if you build them correctly. Same with rosaria. But they are better off as supports.
Bennett has been my savior playing Forsaken Rift. I HATED that domain, until I built Diona and Bennett up. Now, I walk through it with ease. Honorable mention for Yanfei, my favorite 4 star!
I like how you mentioned that hydro is one of the strongest elements since I was wondering why I had a hard time building dragonspine teams until I realized half of the characters I built were hydro units and I have a terrifying lack of units from all other elements (yeah, took a few tries until I realized most enemies on dragonspine are cryo and using hydro is a wonderful way to die by freezing)
I just started the game, at AR9 in my second 10x wishes in Standard banner, I got Xiangling🔥. My first character from wishes, and I'm gonna make her main dps for my team. Currently AR16 and I leveled her up to 30, was not sure about 40. But now I am after playing her even more and seeing this video.
I'm F2P and use Fishcl as well, she is amazing and Oz can take a lot of enemies on his own now lol I just press E then swap to a pyro or cryo character to get the reaction then to Xiangling/Xinq as my dps , swap back to fischl to use her ult.
I've been slowly working on building Fischl and Sucrose, but they're both still baking. My Xiangling has been with me since the beginning and though she's not in my main party anymore, she's still a real beast in a fight.
My first ever pull in genshin, a ten pull, I got Chongyun and Bennet, I've been focusing all my resources on Bennet and Chongyun and I cannot express how grateful at my past self. (although I mainly used him as my main dps)
glad that i invested some effort into bennett and xingqiu, they're so handy and can't help but use them in so many of my teams. just have to continue working on them and the other three some more ^^
I actually have 3 of the Characters in my Team (Sucrose, Fischl and Xiaoling) and I'm building them (AR24 though xD) so happy to see I'm not that far off ;)
I've been playing since Day 1 but I like these newbie friendly videos because i have a few new friends to the game. My top 5 gotta be: 1. Bennett- damage boost, pyro app and heal cleanse 2. Diona- shields AND heals 3. Xinqiu- bonus damage, resistance to interrupt, hydro app and can dmg boost almost any character 4. Sucrose- crowd control, elemental mastery buff and Viridescent 5. Xiangling- insane pyro damage big booms
Built Benny two days ago, now he's main dps on my second team Advice: Aquila Favonia with gladiator is one of the easiest sets for Benny and it's almost broken

She's amazing! It was between her and Xiangling but tbh the fact that one of the top DPS is absolutely free to play makes it hard to put Diona over her. And for Fischl there's just so many characters with energy problems that she's more valuable now. But Diona was in the running and definitely #6.
Diona carried my account since when I first got her on her initial release. I was a total noob back then and with all my shortcomings she really helped me push through this game and get me to where I am today. I have such an appreciation for her because of this that she will always have her own bar in my teapot!
I'd give some of my own personal honorable mentions also to beidou and rosaria, but that's mostly down to my own personal preferences, also its probably because recently I've been using a national team variant with rosaria as the flex character, it is kinda sad that they don't make good all rounder supports anymore, diona and rosaria are the only 4 stars post launch that have been truly on par with the launch ones in my opinion, a lot of them now are pretty niche

My exact top 5 as well. These launch characters have proven themselves top notch and valuable assets to any account. However, special mention should be given to Diona. She’s a great shielder, healer, and battery. Also she’s the only 4* non-launch character that’s on par with these 5.

A problem I find in genshin is that even though im f2p there are so many characters I want to build but I cant play with them all at the same time
Honestly, I wish I started off heavily investing in 4-star Tazer and Reverse Melt teams when I started on launch rather than investing in some of the launch 5-stars. It's wild how much better the characters in this video aged better than practically every launch 5-star in the game.
XQ+Sucrose+Beidou+Fischl and Bennett+Xiangling+Kaeya+Rosaria/Chongyun will take you really far into the game.
You can also use em+pearl barbara in tazer teams. Barbara with fishl, beidou, sucrose is my go to team for abyss. 2x electro lets me use barbara as trigger.
hmm i think its okay to invest on hypercarries on early game, and you can use said hypercarries to farm artifacts for the characters in this video.
Like for example you invested on Diluc, and you can use Diluc to farm the Emblem set for XL, XQ, etc.
I mean all launch 5* are still good. Venti's only issue are the mobs, but it doesn't mean that Mihoyo won't ever make groupable enemies again

This is just my experience, but I truly think everyone should at least have a *Noelle* decently built. She gets rate-ups fairly often, consolidates shielding and healing for Geo DPSs, and can even become the DPS if you get a Geo support.

@Kabir Vazirani Noelle carried me through for months and her flexibility is great, but yeah, you hit real problems with her unless you've got her c6. I've got her at C5 and benched (except when I really need a 2nd geo shield + healer; morax stole her slot on a lot of teams) until I get her c6 at which point she'll come back as burst DPS sometimes.
Funny how all those characters are in the game since lautch. We will probably never get new 4* as good as those 5 because Mihoyo is scared of making another broken da broken 4*
Rightfully so. If every character outside of archons were as broken as Ganyu and these characters the game balance would be in the gutter.

My ganyu cleared the abyss (max of 90secs) 36 stars ever since ive minmaxed her. Ive only just pulled amos bow but even then i still managed to (90secs) 36 stars the abyss without it (using f2p craftables)
Edit: yes ganyu isnt that broken but sayong she cant do what you just said is clearly just you showing you just suck. Another one is that the current abyss12 has a def buff against charged shots and even then i can still do what you cant (c0 r5hamayumi/r1amos)

@@TacticalDimples that’s a terrible thing because that introduces power creep. Every unit would need to better than the last, until it gets to a point where the game dies because of it. It makes you feel terrible for spending money to get a unit only for one after to be much better. I’d prefer genshin not go down that route, they’re doing a relatively good job with game balance despite a few being very weak or too strong
For me the most useful 4 stars have been Diona, Sucrose, Yanfei, and Fischl. When it comes to availability the fact Sucrose is competitive with Kazuha is pretty damn impressive.
My Yanfei started out shaky even though I got her at C6 the day I got her. But now that I've worked on her a bit, she's an amazing damage dealer.

I'd like to add info for Xiangling's weapon. Since Raiden's rerun is right around the corner, F2P players may wonder who will be using the The Catch. There is another weapon that Xiangling can use beside it, the Wavebreaker's Fin. TCs made videos showing the numbers and it proves that it could compete and beat the Catch's damage output, allowing Raiden or other characters to use make use of the Catch instead
I'm new but I heard good things about crescent pike, I've saved up primos and started farming r5 the catch for raiden, I use crescent pike for my xiangling, currently at R2 cp, is wavebreaker fin better for xiangling?
@@viego29 if you're building xiangling as phys dps then yes crescent pike is good. But if you're building her where she is good at which is applying pyro or sub dps then wave breaker or the catch is definitely better.
That is correct. You’d have to be lucky or extremely patient to get it to R5 as a F2P, but that weapon series is just so broken.
My favorite meta 4 stars would be bennett, Xingqiu, Xiangling and chongyun
The OG china (National) team. This team paved the way for TC's to provide strong meta team comps being the 4 characters mentioned as the basis for the several national teams we know of today (Rational, international, dual national etc)
fischl was my first lvl 90 character and her utility is absolutely insane. she’s a great main dps who doesn’t even need too much field time to deal a lot of dmg! i have all of these characters, all i need to do is raise xiangling and build her along with xingqiu and sucrose!!

People seem to forget about Barbara a lot. I've put some investment into her and she's been invaluable. She's saved my azz so many times and is always going to be a part of my team when I challenge tougher content.
She's pretty good, specially now that she can contribute to dmg with 4pc clam and can hold TTDS on top of that, plus apply hydro for taser, vaporize or freeze teams. Imo she's only not top 5 because Xingqiu can apply hydro off field and is a sub dps so he's usually used over her unless you need a healer. Also, while Sucrose can't apply hydro ofc, she also competes as a support slot in the same teams (freeze, vape, taser) as a TTDS holder who can also use 4p VV but doesn't heal
Barbara is definitely underrated tho and idk what I'd do without her when the abyss had corrosion everywhere
Barbara is going to be the first crowned unit on my squad. Barbara was the only hydro unit I had for the longest time, so she got tons of investment. The only person who hits harder on my squad now is Ganyu, but Barbara is still my queen. Even with Ganyu, Barbara pretty much defeated Signora in single combat. I recently brought Xingqiu home, but i haven't built him because I'm team Barbara (although i would like to have Ayato for a Freeze Ganyu team variant). My overworld squad is based on a melt Ganyu (Ganyu and Xiangling), and a vaporize Barbara (Barbara and Xiangling), with Barbara and Ganyu also working together for freeze, and Anemo Traveller for debuff. I'm currently building my Bennett and saving for Kazuha (while also building my Sucrose, although not adamantly since my Anemo Traveller is ascended past lvl 80).
But yes, Barbara needs all the props and recognition. With the 4pcs Heart of Depth, her elemental skill not only gets a huge damage buff, but it also heals everyone on the team with every punch. AND she almost never misses. I love that her attack does not travel from point A to Point B. It manifest itself directly on the enemy. She can be behind a wall and she will still slap someone in the face (like my boy Will)

You seem to have missed the fact that Sucrose can be turned into a pseudo Kazuha by equipping her with the Hakushin Ring in a taser comp.

Sucrose is so lovely, and she's the only character that can provide 80% of her utility at level 1, with artifacts at level 0 and a weapon at level 1. She's just purely insane.

Rosaria is up there for me. She's just such a good sub dps/support and cryo applier and is a great support for Eula (my main).

One of the most used character in 1 Shot showcase , compared to one of the best Anemo(Kazuha) and competively better than C0 Kazuha depending on situation.

Xingqui was one of my first units and I'm using him constantly. I just got my boi to C6 thanks to the recent banners. Yeah, he's amazing.
Mihoyo really created some secret 5 stars in the beginning. When we'll get to Sneznaya, people will still be using Xingqui and Bennett xD

Sucrose was the first character i leveled to 80 followed by xiangling so they still hold a special place in my heart.

I never thought about it, but yeah, Hidro IS the best element for reactions. Freeze, electrocharged and vape are all top notch reactions. I think Mona and XQ would never have as much popularity if not for that, honestly

I think electro-charge and freeze are the best reactions by far in the game, electro-charge for how versatile and powerful it is, freeze for how it disables most enemy mechanics

These days the 4-star becomes more niche, like if they're put in the right team they're super valuable, while the classics are just timelessly and flexibly useful in many teams.
As a 2-month-old player, I have been playing right as I've been trying to build all these characters as soon as I got them... except for Fischl. It took me a while to see how great she actually is and understand how to use her. Now I use her the most often out of these five. XD
They're the obvios Top 5 four stars, but the way he explained their roles and reasoning of their placement makes this a great video for beginners of the game!

I got Bennett c1 within the first couple of weeks of playing Genshin Impact and he's been on my team ever since. As soon as I got Xiangling they have been inseparable. Now they are both supporting Ganyu in a melt team that never ceases to amaze. I managed to get Fischl from the starglitter shop and Sucrose from the standard banner and Xingqiu relatively recently as well. Together with my former main star Beidou they are holding up the other side of the abyss with the amazing taser team. I can wholeheartedly recommend building all of these characters. So as far as Brax's list is concerned I 100% agree, and I would add special mentions to Diona, Rosaria and Beidou.
Unfortunately Diona has managed to dodge my summoning sessions thus far. She's the only other 4 star I need :(
Fischl and Chongyun were the first characters I pulled, and alongside Bennett they have carried my whole game so far. There's not enough love for the 4 stars in the community.
Started playing in December and I'm only missing four 4 stars- Bennett, Sayu, Kujo Sara, and Gorou. Really looking forward to getting Bennett since like every team comp recommendation has him listed. Definitely love playing with the other four mentioned and excited to use three of them in my Sukokomon team in a few days when Kokomi comes back, in the meantime, I've used Xingqiu instead and the team is still fun!

11:11 To answer your question, I built all of them and enjoy all of them. It's funny that getting 36-star Abyss is easy even tho the only 5-star character I built (for damage) is C0 Ganyu and perhaps, C0 Raiden, altho her dmg without C2 is underwhelming. However, this shows that Mihoyo planned from the very beginning to let players win the game without needing to pull A LOT of 5-star characters. Obviously, different characters can fulfill different tasks better than other characters. so hopefully they will keep on balancing new characters and contents so that it seems fair for many players so that power creeps do not exist. For example, Kazuha outshines Venti in nowadays content/Abyss, just because in Venti's niche, NO ONE can beat Venti, which will make Kazuha seems underwhelming while Venti only needs to tap a button and all the mobs get grouped and die - this will be even better with quadratic scaling from Ganyu's burst.
Edit: Before I even watch the video, I would guess that they are Bennett/Xiangling/Xingqiu/Sucrose. The flex slot might be Kaeya/Beidou/Fischl. Yep, did not go wrong. I wanted Bennett since launch when I read his talents/abilities. I was always annoyed when the others kept saying Bennett is trash back then when he’s always been this broken. I’m glad he’s so popular now and those others finally understood how to use him.

Got all of them, except for Fischl, within the first month I started playing Genshin :) Thinking back now, I was quite fortunate to have gotten almost all the OP support units from the get go-- though I still struggled a bit cause I had good support units but not enough DPS units :') Good thing Beidou also came along and Sucrose and her carried me through to mid game.
I would also recommend building Kaeya if you don't have a good Cryo unit at the start. He's a very good cryo enabler and can be built as a physical/cryo dps.
My wife started playing recently and stuck with Kaeya as one of her main subdps characters. Even very low level, and a r1 Sac sword, he is almost always throwing out ice, or spinning it around him.
Makes me regret benching him extremely early on!
@@J.sh_CDN Yup! He’s by far the best off field Cryo enabler imo. I didn’t start building him until late game, after I got Childe, and by the gods, he works really well with Childe freeze comp since he gets up and close with his melee stance ^^ His burst doesn’t cost much energy either and if you manage to get lucky and get his cons, he only gets better and better.

I have Xianling and Saccharose in my main fighting team and I love them!! I want Bennett and Fischl so badly, but I wasn't lucky until now... I hope they will appear in a banner soon again
All true. I have all five of these and they are extremely powerful. But then almost all characters in Genshin Impact seemed viable tbh. That's the beauty of the game. If you don't want to be a copycat by building XQ and XL and feel like a robot, it's okay. There are a other 4-star options you can invest on that will yield great results:
-Diona is the second best support imho (second to Zhongli, a 5-star), and to imagine she's 4-star. Damn. Battery, shields and heals for days. Cryo application is just the cherry on top. Just need damage for the other 3 characters. Diona's got you protected, especially if you don't have Bennett.
-Ningguang is probably the strongest 4-star DPS of them all. These characters mentioned in the vid are just sub-DPS units with no need to eat field time. For people unlucky with ER or rotations, that's a problem delegating a person doing all the normal attacks. Notice all these characters on the vid have its normal attack talents underleveled. They're not built for DPS role. Luckily, there's Ningguang. With a 40 energy cost burst, less reliance on EM and just plug and play to create violence? Yum!
-Beidou is also not mentioned here. Her burst is to die for. AOE? Check. Protection? Check. Damage buff? Check. Also a great sub-DPS unit if you have no Xingqiu or Xiangling. Best paired with Fischl and/or Sucrose.
There are other characters that won't crack the top 8 of 4-stars that can still be super valuable if built well, but there are noticeable weaknesses. Yanfei (stamina), Rosaria (niche on certain enemies), Kaeya/Chongyun (awkward role as normal attacker or sub-DPS), Barbara (niche role as healer and nothing else), Yun Jin/Xinyan (niche for certain character pairings), Kujou Sara/Noelle (niche for max constellations), among others. Still, dont be surprised if anyone I mentioned if given max artifacts (with correct main stats) and weapon levels can clear the entirety of overworld content.
To make things short, pick what you want and enjoy. Chances are it will work if hard work is applied.
Besides the 5 characters mentioned in the video, I'm also working on 8 other characters, with 7 of them being 4 star characters:
-Yanfei: works well in tandem with Xingqiu for those Vaporize reactions as she is a catalyst user whose normal attacks, skill and burst all deal pyro elemental damage (Vaporize 24/7)
-Kaeya: I use him as a Burst Support for Melt reactions (works nicely with Xiangling's Burst, Hu Tao's Skill/Charged Attacks, and Klee's Burst). He is also Cryo so half of Cryo Resonance Boost
-Rosaria: Also Burst Support, Half of Cryo Resonance and one of her passives allows the increase of Crit Rate on Party Members
-Diona: shield support, healer and Cryo energy regenerator/battery. Once again, Half of Cryo Resonance
-Chongyun: only for Burst Support and because I would like to try him on National Team
-Beidou: the fun to her high risk high reward style of play using her Elemental Skill (also a badass Electro Momma Pirate)
-Ningguang: I don't have any Geo characters built, and her new dress made me want to build her. Plus I've heard from friends who've built Ningguang that she's a very good DPS
-Lasty Klee because Bom Bom Bakudan is fun xd
I've calculated that it'll take me approximately three months to level them up all to 90/90, with talents varying between 9/9/9 or 6/9/9
I can attest to building Ning, her charge shots and burst rips through enemies. Only thing to note is you must have geo resonance with her (Geo traveller/zhongli are the two most frequently used)
As a melt Chongyun lover, he can get pretty good damage on his skills. With my F2P build, I’ve seen his E melt w/ crit for 30k which is about as high as my Diluc’s third E melt w/ crit at 32k, both only with Zhongli shield shred.
I’d defs recommend going EM sands for best melt damage if you can or at least bringing an EM support or Instructor set holder for him. A Prototype Archaic with any 2pc combo of Noblesse, Gladiator/Shimenawa, and Blizzard is just fine for him.
He does well with Benny and Xiangling but I’d throw in another cryo (Rosa/Kaeya/Diona) or specifically anemo (Sucrose, Jean, Kazuha) for C6 ult quad melt instead of XQ if you want the melt damage to shine through.
Beidou is used by her Q not her E

I wanna nominate Noelle cause she really is underrated. Properly built, she can play as DPS, healer, or shield user. You don't need any constellations for her either, but they do help. And Noelle is even more f2p than most of this list cause you have to pull everyone but Xiangling. Noelle is guaranteed from the one starting gacha.
Im a Fischl Main since launch, pulled her four times in a ten pull along with three ventis back in time. But still, I was happier to get fischl, since she was and still is my favourite character. I never stopped playing her and im so happy that shes gonna get her skin in the near future :)
I feel like at lower constellations, Diona probably deserves the slot more than Fischl. But it’s a close call.
I'm new to the game and it's fortunate I came across this because now I know I have three really good units in my team already. I got Sucrose and Bennett just a week in between ☺️ and I got Xiangling when I used my free wishes for Noelle.
I NEED Sucrose in my life! I've been wanting her for so long, and she's the only one on your list I don't have yet. I wish she was in Paimon's bargains, a guaranteed Sucrose twice a year would be great!

I know this is controversial, but I'd swap Oz for Beidou in your list. My F2P alt had hit a point where it struggled a lot, in spite of having a decent Yanfei/Xingqiu combo. But as soon as I built Beidou, it started feeling as I had activated easy mode! My alt struggled in a lot of domains, which forced me to farm them in co-op; but once I got Beidou, it started being able to clear every single domain and boss!
Not controversial at all, almost any theory-crafter would have likely put Beidou in the top 5 over Fischl.
technically beidou is only viable to play due to fischl generating electro particles for her? Most beidou teams also include fischl.
@@choco7232 A lot of teams include both because they synergize well together, but you don't need Fischl for electro particle generation. People overstate Beidou's burst cost, it's quite easy to gain enough energy without even running double electro. Even if you are running double electro the other electro does not need to be fischl due to the nature of electro resonance.

Thinking it through a bit more, I think Brax is considering 4* characters at C0. At C0, I think Oz beats Beidou. Just to make it clear, I never said Oz is bad; it's just that C2 Beidou is so, SO busted!
I think this is a pretty good guide for new players and it does show you don’t need a huge amount of 5 star characters to create great teams.
I think one 4-star that flies under the radar is Diona. I use her in my freeze comp team (Ganyu, Mona, Sucrose) and her utility absolutely makes that team. While Ganyu, Mona and Sucrose deal stupid amounts of damage, Diona’s shielding and healing ability is the glue that keeps it together.
One of my favorite teams that I use is Eula, Zhongli, Bennett and Fischl. The balance of this team is just ridiculous. Eula does a dumb amount of damage, Zhongli is what I call “game on easy mode” shielder and then you’ve got Bennett bringing the heals and support and Fischl dealing off-field electro damage. I seriously take this team just about everywhere because it has so much utility. For what he brings to every team, it’s amazing Bennett is a 4-star.
Since I just drew Raiden, I’m just now starting to try and build better Xiangling and Xingqui units. I’ve heard they can be really good units, but I’ve struggled to build them and find the teams that fit them the best.
Another really solid 4-star I like to use is Beidou. I don’t use her quite as much now since I’ve been drawing more 5-stars, but she is a really good electro unit if you play her right. One of my favorite all 4-star teams is Beidou, Bennett, Fischl and Xiangling. That team absolutely wrecks that wolf boss (forget his name) and just smokes Cryo enemies in-general.

Wow I have 5 very good characters, didn't know that (im still kinda new to genshin and this sort of games so I don't really know what I'm doing at times so these videos really help)

Fischl is my main and has carried me through the game. I love using her and her personality is relatable to me.
I love Fischl but I definitely would have put Diona in the list over her (heal and shield... yes please). Otherwise I agree. I'm one of those people who might discount Bennett a bit, but that's because he's more of a paramedic instead of a healer. I pretty much refuse to run him without at least Xingqiu to hopefully bump up the amount healed. I'll also run him with Diona and they can cover for each other's weaknesses a bit. He's an amazing character but it does trigger me a bit when people call him "the best healer" when he leaves so much healing on the table compared to other options. Admittedly, I was a bit spoiled in that department having pulled Jean on the beginners banner and then getting Diona/Fischl as my next new characters after the guaranteed characters.
Bennet and diona together is overhealing. Make sure you have enough er for bennet so his burst always up should be enough.
yes.. i think diona and beidou can both fight for 5th spot together with amy.. but XL benny XQ and sucrose are no doubt in the top 4...
fischl need constellation to be good, Diona doesn't (since you don't need her to deal damage)

I don’t understand the misconception that Bennett can’t be a good healer. His heal ticks can easily reach 6k or higher which can overheal over the 70% hp threshold he has.

I know she’s not that popular, but I would also recommend Yanfei. Her charged attack does very nice damage and she works great for melt and vape comps (also she does great with Bennett!)

I actually used Fischl on the three gateway quest in Enkanomiya. And it was a great decision indeed.
For some reason these are the characters that i got first from standard banner... Except Bennett whom I had to buy from starglitter shop, but still i was meant to be meta slave i guess

I dont have sucrose but I have every other character mentioned here levelled and helps me so much in spiral abyss. Also Diona is my Mini Zhongli she saves me with her insanely cracked shield and healing for a 4 star.

I'm one of the none bennetts believer as I conquered my first spiral abyss at ar47 29stars without him. Back then it takes forever to reach ar45. Like 5-9 weeks to hit ar47. Of all the four stars, to me surcose is the best as she can be the main dps for one chamber

I got three out of 5 in this list. And as a guy who just played for a month, I can already feel Benni Bouken and Xiangling/Shanrin's power whenever I roam around. For Fischl/Fisshuru, I haven't tried her yet, but will definitely do one of these days.

for Sucrose I use sacrificial fragments so I can use her skill 3x. Sukokumon is insane (Sucrose, Kokomi, Xiangling, Yae Miko or Fishl). I had problems to get 2 stars on floor 12. But with that team I managed to do 6 stars
I'm going to build them now ty for the suggestions, but I'd like to add Diona to the list since she's also in a lot of team comps and is amazing at healing, shielding, and battery.
Only characters I haven't built are kaeya,Amber,Lisa,aloy,Thomas and gorou which is half built. I've been playing since release and I've built over 32 characters so far

i like videos like this! very entertaining and also gave me some ideas on who to build next which is always an issue :') I'd love to see one on weapons or good artifact sets that many characters use, so i know which domain to grind a lot to have excess pieces for!
I also wanna add Xinyan to the mix because she's in my main party (and has been since I got her), and they way she's been built she's easily comparable to the 5*s she shares the party with.
Of course, now with Dehya (AKA Xinyan and Beidou's Sumeruan love child) coming out in the near future, Xinyan's position in main might be threatened...
Pretty well made list, Agree with everyone being here and the reasons for why they are good, for honorable mentions i would add - kaeya, rosaria, beidou and diona.
Kaeya and Rosaria generally a similar purpose but slightly different, kaeya has a very strong burst and pretty strong skill which snapshots and can have really big uptime once you have c2, the burst also follows you arround which is great for mobs that like to move a lot or get knockbacked. However he doesn't have the best consistent cryo application. Rosaria just like kaeya has a very strong elemental burst and at c2 can even outbeat kaeya's dmg however it is stationary and limited to a circle, but it has great elemental application of cryo. She also has a passive that shares crit rate with everyone in her party which is always a nice bonus.
Beidou has relatively bad elemental generation and requires a battery but once her energy is full and she can burst it shreds any kind of content where thare is more than 1 enemy, with 2 enemies being the ideal dps scenario. Beidou's burst jumps between enemies and gets additional bounces at c2 maxing to 5 total bounces, in 2 enemy scenario it means 1 enemy gets hit 3 times while the other gets hit 2 times. The burst can be triggered once every second when a normal or charge attack hits an enemy which makes it great for fast attackers like yoimiya or sucrose. The burst also has extremly high poise dmg what it means is that it staggers the enemy way faster and thus stops them from attacking. She also has a counter which when timed well produces more energy, does more dmg, and also is very satisfying.
and lastly Diona is probably THE best cryo support in the game, she can heal, she can shield, she can hold noblesse, at c6 she gives a ton of elemental mastery, and especially with a favonius or sacrificial bow (sacrificial more important for cryo energy hungry memebers) she can generate a lot of energy with her Hold E. If built with full HP she also can shield pretty well, and extremly well against cryo attacks.

However I'd like to add some special mentions. Diona, Chongyun, Kaeya, Rosaria, Mona and Jean are also incredible characters, Mona and Jean can both be DPS as well if you build them correctly.
Same with rosaria. But they are better off as supports.
Despite being 4 stars, these F2P characters are insane when build properly. I already built them and some are in my team.
Bennett has been my savior playing Forsaken Rift. I HATED that domain, until I built Diona and Bennett up. Now, I walk through it with ease. Honorable mention for Yanfei, my favorite 4 star!

I like how you mentioned that hydro is one of the strongest elements since I was wondering why I had a hard time building dragonspine teams until I realized half of the characters I built were hydro units and I have a terrifying lack of units from all other elements
(yeah, took a few tries until I realized most enemies on dragonspine are cryo and using hydro is a wonderful way to die by freezing)

I just started the game, at AR9 in my second 10x wishes in Standard banner, I got Xiangling🔥.
My first character from wishes, and I'm gonna make her main dps for my team. Currently AR16 and I leveled her up to 30, was not sure about 40. But now I am after playing her even more and seeing this video.
I'm F2P and use Fishcl as well, she is amazing and Oz can take a lot of enemies on his own now lol
I just press E then swap to a pyro or cryo character to get the reaction then to Xiangling/Xinq as my dps , swap back to fischl to use her ult.
I've been slowly working on building Fischl and Sucrose, but they're both still baking.
My Xiangling has been with me since the beginning and though she's not in my main party anymore, she's still a real beast in a fight.

My first ever pull in genshin, a ten pull, I got Chongyun and Bennet, I've been focusing all my resources on Bennet and Chongyun and I cannot express how grateful at my past self. (although I mainly used him as my main dps)
I just started playing 5 days ago and got xiangling and fischl in my first 3 multi summons and it's been pretty fun
glad that i invested some effort into bennett and xingqiu, they're so handy and can't help but use them in so many of my teams. just have to continue working on them and the other three some more ^^

I actually have 3 of the Characters in my Team (Sucrose, Fischl and Xiaoling) and I'm building them (AR24 though xD) so happy to see I'm not that far off ;)
I've been playing since Day 1 but I like these newbie friendly videos because i have a few new friends to the game.
My top 5 gotta be:
1. Bennett- damage boost, pyro app and heal cleanse
2. Diona- shields AND heals
3. Xinqiu- bonus damage, resistance to interrupt, hydro app and can dmg boost almost any character
4. Sucrose- crowd control, elemental mastery buff and Viridescent
5. Xiangling- insane pyro damage big booms
Xinqiu's E is anti interrupt. That's important to mention.

Advice: Aquila Favonia with gladiator is one of the easiest sets for Benny and it's almost broken
