it's very strange to have that kind of opinion, showcasing Alexi's death as something positive just because he had the "chance to chose"... such decisions are anything but normal. This comes from psychological diseases and is something that needs to be treated.
Exactly. Let's not turn self-destructive personality flaws and untreated mental problems into a romantic ideal because a celebrity had them.@@julianelison8508
This video is just disrespectful. It goes way deeper than Alexi just saying "I'm going to drink until I die".... The story starts from his childhood and goes trough some very dark places. You can't tell his life story in just few sentences, it's more complicated than that.
@@smallfaucet the truth that alexi was a drunk and wasted away his life. Loved his work but I’m calling a spade a spade. He could have quit and rebuilt his life. Live fast die fast
A buddy and I were obsessed with COB, we met him a number of times at the Namm show and after our first meeting, he always remembered us. Was and always will be a guitar God, RIP Alexi
The truth is that after around 15 years of heavy drinking, Alexi was finally hospitalised while on tour - circa 2011 - with severe vomiting and bleeding from the stomach. It was almost certain that he had caused serious liver damage at this point. Another complication of heavy alcohol use, especially the use of spirits, is inflammation of the pancreas. So, depending on the extent of his health problems, and his future willingness to abstain, the outcome could have varied from quite hopeless to more positive. However, if Alexi's situation was of a more serious nature, and he was already moving towards cirrhosis and/or had developed pancreatitis, then his long term prospects would have been fairly bleak, even with the total removal of alcohol from his life. It's probable that he did try to amend his ways, but the slow and inevitable deterioration associated with serious liver disease was already underway. It's possible he relapsed when the outcome looked really hopeless, because from 2012 - 2016 he seemed in reasonably good shape, but after this there was a very drastic downturn. All in all a very tragic end to his life with a lot of suffering. Very sad.
Alexi was not the only famous Finnish musician who drank himself to death. For example, Juice Leskinen and Irwin Goodman also drank so much that they got diseases and died from them. R.I.P. Alexi Laiho
I do not fully understand people who disapprove of his lifestyle and like the music he creates. I know alcohol is bad, but according to Alexi's own words, it helpeh him to make several good songs. Rest in peace legend, I will visit you again soon.🤘🙏
Alcoholism is probably a national disease for Finns. A large percentage of working people are also alcoholics when calculating alcohol consumption. In Aleksi's case, other intoxicants also played a part in the outcome, Like many other Finnish musicians. It's a shame. Alexi was a talented and interesting artist personality😢
How Alexi Laiho destroyed himself? I was there closeup with him till the end. Thing is that all that corona shit actually destroyed him when thinkin about it in bigger picture. He was denied from his lifestyle (on the road). He was denied to go to his wife Australia for like year or so. He was isolated in Finland in his small apartment.. He was of course supported by family in Finland but he really wanted to be what he used to be. On road touring, and spending all free time there with his wife and her daughter. All that was taken away from him. All that started to spiral to.. Well, there. To his end. I'm quite confident he would still be alive if would've just been able to continue his life as he used to.. All things kept him moving and be alive was basically taken away from him. He really struggled and was suffering all that restriction shit. Just my two cents to topic
@@MusicMadtv When you think all is lost it's easy to give up. Not giving a flying fook to anything anymore. Actually... he did give a flying fook to everything else than himself

Sensitive subject?? Saying it's a "sensitive subject" is implying that it shouldn't be brought to the forefront. Not just alcohol... but other hard drugs.
When talking about Alexi's drinking problem, should be known that the drinking culture here is well .. different. It starts sometimes very young, i wouldnt be surprised if Alexi was one of those who started to drink at 12 -13 years old drinking amounts of booze that are basically dangerous. And never quite put the bottle down. And sometimes this is considered normal, in my childhood i had 12 year old friends already experienced drinkers who could drink a grown man under the table. Pretty much everyone knows someone who drank themself to death or knows plenty alcoholics plus other substance users which is another thing. "Happiest country of the world" really just no. We have a massive alcohol and drugs problem. Alexi was part of that. R.i.p
That Sinergy singer poisoned witch name hopefully never to said outloud. She was not Alexi's wife for good 15 years .Well, on paper might've been but Kelly Wrigh-Laiho was the true one. That evil poisoned snake did of course everything to get everything from Alexi's possessions due that marital heritage legal rights in Finland but she luckily ended up living somewhere under the bridge or something. Welcome to Finland again, she didnt even pay her own layers invoices :D She ghosted when it was time for that And furthermore, that wicked evil witch put autopsy public even Alexi's family told her not to....
Looks like my reply was deleted by all god mighty algorithms and rough language i might've used there. Thing is, Kimberly Goss was NOT his wife for good 15 years. All she did was to try to get all out of Alexi's heritage. 'Money in the bank' as she herself told once while Alexi was still alive.. Eventually, she got practically nothing. Just enough to cover layer bills - which she didn't pay ofc because being what she is - she ghosted. Ever come to Finland again - there's 2 legal stakeholders waiting to get paid And have to add this also, Kimberly was told NOT to announce anything related to Alexi's death to public by Alexi's family. Well, she wanted told it anyways to get into public.. Talk about 15 minutes in fame... Surely she wanted more but hey, life sucks and then you die ;D
