I cried so hard while reading the book... when I knew the movie was about to be on tv... I had to mentally prepare for days in advance! (And still cried my eyes out!)
@@abendrot___8055 its most definitely worth it💯
Name of the movie???
I watched this movie around 9… didn’t read the book but absolutely sobbed my heart out watching for the first time. Still one of my my favourite stories/movies….. despite the fact it makes me sob every single time.
I just read the plot summary and now I have to make this the first novel I ever finish
Is it available on ott?
I love this movie. Every few years I end up watching it and I see something new I didnt see before. It makes me laugh, cry, think & feel everytime. Great film ❤
I watched it mows years after experiencing life as an adult. It means so much more when you watch it from a spiritual view point. Gods Love for humankind through Jesus is Powerful
My parents didn't allow to watch this movie when I was a child but later my mom told me this story like a fairy tale.. love you mom for introducing me The Color Purple.. you're the best storytelling of the whole world
That’s funny! I correlate this movie so strongly to my early childhood. I love my grandmother for not for not depriving me of it because of my age.
Who asked
She should’ve let you watch it so that you can see the truth for yourself as a young child. Some of us don’t get the choice of being sheltered from it… but still glad, nonetheless that you were able to watch it at some point
@@mikkiaela1 What truth?
I’m 26 years old about to watch this movie for the first time ever!
I'm about to watch it now. Don't feel bad baby lol
N yes I'm black
Tracey is cute
I watch it two months ago. Dope n deep. U can feel it!!!!!
I just watched it one week ago. What a masterpiece
such an emotional movie. Im a 22 year old male. This is a must watch. Love from the UK
Ohh.. You are 26 now..!
You sound like a 22 yo with a mangina!!!
So how was it?
You're 28 about to be 29. Time flies 😢
love how we all age with this comment :D
A surprisingly lame trailer for one of the best films I've ever seen.
umbrella0326 but y'all gotta remember this was in the late 1900 soo the filming and technology wasn't as good as it is now (bit trying to be rude)
umbrella0326 Yes, agreed!
#KyRa's Playhouse
I've seen some of the best trailers from the 80s and 90s, so your statement isn't entirely true.
umbrella0326 I was watching it and thinking that had I not heard the reviews prior to watching the trailer, I may never have watched it
umbrella0326 your horrible
First time to watch it in Netflix yesterday. So emotional and so moving.
IT'S ON NETFLIX ???
Spielberg showed all the greatness of his great talent in this film
Really? Of all his movies?
When people say black women can't be leads in a film. I point to this iconic film
This is one of the best movies of all time... great performances
REALLY? OF ALL THE MOVIES???
@@DeterminismisFreedom yes for sure.. no doubt...
@@vishalk4912 Ok, you might wanna check the top best 80's movies I recently uploaded
I agree 100% with Roger Ebert about Whoopie Goldberg's performance as one of the greatest debut in history of cinema 🏆
wow
I cried so many times over this 😭 film ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I know this movie came out in 1985 but this trailer feels so old and the movie is timeless!
Many films that take place in an earlier era are often a failure. This one was not. Spielberg is a master of things and made it good.
A movie that talks to the heart.
One of the greatest stories, and one of the best movies ever made. Celie 🐝💜
The trailer really misleads how good the movie is 😂
true fam
2021 tomorrow is July 4 I’m 40 years old and watching this movie for the first time
I love Steven Spielberg
Love conquered all in the end. Justice was served and righteousness shined through forgiveness and Gods blessings . When Albert did the right thing in the end I cried.
Fairytales do be like that.
This is something that should be played on television worldwide.
Why?
@@DeterminismisFreedom Hello because it's an amazing film!
@@RebelliousLittleElf Is it the only amazing film?
@@DeterminismisFreedom Um, no. But it's one of them.
exactly. Also who tf watches television? It's 2020!!! @@RebelliousLittleElf
the movie's theme melody is almost like the one for Jurassic Park.
The Color Purple is the classic you ought to watch if you’d like to understand what the color purple is all about. But you MUST watch it start to end, not just skip through or read a friggin summary
happy 30th Anniversary to the Color Purple!
damn
So glad that it is going to be a movie musical this Christmas
Who asked?
I JUST NOTICED:
Harpo was the only child to get older, and it seems like Albert's other Children stayed little
Yes !! That's what I've been trying to figure out for the longest, are those Harpo's kids ? I cannot figure out who those kids are at the table eating with them
@@meccamitchell6481 i think its squeak and harpos kids
@@SixNineFourTwenty oh ok, that makes sense. They just disappeared towards the end, I couldn't figure out where they came from lol
@@meccamitchell6481 sophia had 6 kids.
This movie makes me laugh and cry every time I watch it
So in love with this movie!! Great postive lessons to be a better person towards others!!! ......and yes , I did cry. So what!!😢😢😢😭😭😭😭
Oprah, Whoopie, Quincy, Spielberg... All should have won Oscars for this.
I remember watching this as a kid and im gonna watch it again
Did it hold?
@@DeterminismisFreedom hold what?
@@surebuddy9348 Was it as good as you thought it was when you was a kid?
@@DeterminismisFreedom Yes I loved it and loved the ending so much, there's going to be a new movie about it a musical one can't wait.

i’m reading the book now for my AP literature class and needed a good visualization for the characters so here i am
I actually never watched this movie. I remember watching the trailers (not this one) in the 1980s on Super Station. I will watch it though, in the next few days.
Please watch it. This is an amazing film
how was it?
It's pisses God off when you walk by the color purple favorite line
One of my fave films. TY!
Damn what a movie, celie had a very rough life it got better as she got older though I see why her father who wasn't even her father sold her to Albert That's because she was supposed to get the house and the store from her mother when she died... Early 1900s was bad for everybody .. what a movie I'm so glad celie toughed up and left Albert bum azz The house was horrible before and it was horrible after she left, My favorite part of the movie was the ending she finally seen her sisters and her kids which Albert paid for that was the least he could do Man this was a good movie man I knew this was going to be a good movie and I'm only 22 years old this is a quarantine movie I have to give this a 9 out of a 10.. Albert whole family tree was nothing all the dudes was horrible...
One of my favourite movies!
My favorite favorite movie of all time! ❤
REALLY? OF ALL THE MOVIES???
@DeterminismisFreedom yes. Is there something wrong with that?? Lol

REALLY? OF ALL THE MOVIES???
@@DeterminismisFreedom That's for me.
@@alme7748 You seriously haven't watched anytrhing better than this IN YOUR LIFE???/
In my opinion, this movie in some parts was a kind of a matrix, an idea for the subsequent performances of Whoopie Goldberg. It seems that the scene of cursing the executioner was used to write the script and the creation of the movie 'Ghost' (1990) or just an idea to engage her into this movie. Scene of gospel choir singing used for origin 'Sister Act' (1992) and 'Sister Act 2' (1993). She used same dance with the coupons in scene in front of her own home, during the Oscars ceremony in 2002, where she fell on the stage in feathers. I might be wrong, but it looks like very.
Loved this movie!!! 💜💜💜
I loves harpo
Gonna watch this movie... because this novel is in my syllabus.
With the exception of Duel and The Surgarland Express, The Color Purple is the only Steven Spielberg film that John Williams didn’t do the music score for.
One of the greatest movies of all time
,,WHY!?, WHY!?, WHY!?"
The best movie of all time
Never seen it...i was only 16 when it came out so maybe now I'll watch it
Never seen this movie but will in a couple of days. Take care everyone
What did you think
this movie was amazing!
The book is amazing
From the Director of E.T. and Jurassic Park, From the Producers of Who's That Girl and Batman and from the studio that brought you Dirty Harry, Lean on Me and Superman: The Movie
Oprah Winfrey (The Queen of Talk), Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon Movies, Disney's Angels in the Outfield) and Whoopi Goldberg (, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Ghost, Sister Act)
The Color Purple 🟣
How can I find full video please 😢
its a classic but i think they could have done more with this trailer since most people have seen it.
I can't watch this movie after the first time. That's how I know it's so great.
Who else is here because of Kevin Samuels references to this movie?
Yep
Worst trailer ever.
Adam Johnson i know! It didnt show the plot or even the genre. Shame since ive heard its great
@@anayaj402 The movie is worth it. I read the book and the movie does a pretty good job with it. As usual, the book was better. The movie cut out some of the lesbian scenes. Nevertheless, the film is one of the best in America and I hope you watch it. It's really good.
umbrella0326 hmm ill check it out :)
I know right, for one of the best films ever produced and directed by Spielberg!😩
Adam Johnson But isn’t that Morgan Freeman’s voice over? That makes it the best
I’ve never seen this movie but heard about it all life. Isn’t there a real trailer for this out there?
You ain't missing much!
The new version won't get over the original one.
Was that Morgan freeman doing the voice over ??
Que película más bonita
I love this movie so much.
So what’s purple color have to do with anything ? 😅
Seriously I should read Novel first
Am I the only one who thinks it's odd that RUclips makes us sit through ads to watch what's essentially an ad?
After they remade Roots in 2016, they should remake The Color Purple it just wouldn't hurt to follow the book 99%.
I read the book for a school project I hope the movie is just as good
Memory's 🎉🎉🎉❤😢
I remember seeing the musical on Broadway and I they make a remake out of this movie
Damn Oprah looks older in this movie than she is now
But she was and is always beautiful
They purposely made her look older
I saw the tittle from the book of "Mindset" 💜💜💜
Curious about it , now im gonna watch it
One of them looks likes Oprah Winfrey

Beautiful composition
A greatest film but trailer is opposite of it
Eu amo a musica do filme I'm Here, mas para mim a melhor versão é com uma ex participante do American Idol
Were all 1980s trailers this boring? It puts me to sleep. Oh so there are characters in the film and they have names? zzz...
Bloody hate these voiceover trailers from the damn 80's.
