Hello Brett, so I've been in this position. unfortunately I crashed my 125d, it was my fault and it was hard to accept. insurance didn't cover it due to me not declaring a bloody sticker very stupid little thing they picked up on. anyways, months down the line I've recovered it, its on my drive way. I've repaired it without any mechanical knowledge. I called in a mobile mechanic a couple times to help me with some bits. But the main outline here is, cars will come and go, I was too weak to let it go so I repaired it and I am waiting for body shop to collect it and finish the rest. I cried my eyes out for weeks over this as the sentimental value of the car was higher than the price. If you want to message me and talk about the situation I'm more than happy to listen and give you some extra support, I believe your friends, family and gf have done this already but always helps to speak with likeminded individuals. keep your head up and look at a BMW 440i or 428i you wont be disappointed. Mate not sure if you will see this but I had a VERY similar story to this. In September last year I bought a M140i 2019 with 4000 miles coming from a 118i like yourself, was my pride and joy spent a lot of money on mods on it and long story short it was a slippery day and I hit a lamppost with minimal damage but air bags deployed, was written off. Had to wait ages for a verdict and payout think it was 8 weeks in total. I know it’s been a while since the accident happened but just want you to know that you’re not alone when it comes to things like this, happens all the time, at least you’re safe and no one was seriously hurt. I now own another m140i with higher spec and love it just as much as my previous one. This is devastating news but you’re an awesome RUclipsr and you’ll come back stronger my man!💪
My M135i got crashed into in July, literally had it for 2 months before it got hit, luckily the valuation kept it away from being a write off because I loved it, but it took 4 months to get the work assessed, confirmed and working 😩 and finally getting back mid November! I know the pain of losing your pride and joy, head high and onto bigger and better things, but phooo your insurance must be rocket high now

Suggestion. If you can park your pride and joy off a main road do so, I notice it’s not protected by other parked cars so can be a bit of a hazard at night. Not everyone has off street parking but if it’s just round the corner on side street, it may give you some peace of mind.

I had a very similar event happen to me back in March this year, I was on a roundabout and someone failed to stop from my left side, smashing into the side of the car that my Ex was sat in, and spinning me facing traffic in the middle of a roundabout :/ the woman went straight into a lamppost and had to be cut out of the car, It was my first car 2019 Audi A1 S-Line, absolutely loved the car, never got a sorry, or anything from her, we had 4 police cars turn up, two ambulances it was a nightmare. Creating huge arguments between me and my Ex at the time, thankfully I had a dashcam so the other driver had to plead 100% guilty. She tried to sue etc take my to court which never happened. Hope you're doing alright tho mate!
My brother was in a similar situation not so long ago. Moved his car from the driveway to the main road so my mum could get her car out to go to work. Only been parked for 10-15 minutes on the road and then it got hit. He got the car new and ended up getting written off in 2 months, although the women that did crash into her was very apologetic and turns out she only lived round the corner.
And this is why I never park my BMW on the road even for 5mins. People like this woman shouldn’t be driving cars on public roads. Feel sorry for these two dogs and cat😞

Sorry to hear about your car. I used to have a 140i for two years which I recently changed for a Cupra Formentor which three person tried to steal by breaking into my home yet nobody ever tried to steal my 140 i which everybody told me would happen when I bought it.

I hope this goes some way to making you feel like your not the only one with horrendous bad luck. I bought a bmw 335d m sport paid £30k cash. Paid £600 to upgrade the brake pads all round with endless blue stuff pads. Took the car out to bed the brakes in and on the way back struck a pot hole deep enough to bury someone in. Totally obliterated a £780 alloy wheel and damaged the rear wheel on the same side. Got the vehicle recovered. After forking out £1700 to make the car roadworthy and nearly a year of pursuing the roads department they found themselves not to be at fault as they were not aware of the incident prior to it occurring 😂😂😂. Then over the following three months on the same stretch of road my windscreen was cracked by a flying object off the back of an hgv. Same road. Same circumstances. Three windscreens later!!

Mate any setback is just setting you up for something better. This same situation happened to my girlfriend last year (parked, crushed against a curb by someone driving too fast in the snow, snapped rear axle) and the insurance payout was good enough to upgrade to a better car. Content for us youtubers at the end of the day, sucks that you lost your pride and joy but onwards and upwards. Glad you're doing alright, and I'll forgive you for calling my Cupra boring 😜
This hurt to watch! I’ve just got my dream car this year before I turned 24 and couldn’t imagine I’d handle it as well as you have if this was to happen to me! I have a 2016 F80 M3. If it’s in budget M2 or M3 I’d say is what you should get, but sure what ever you get will be bigger and better. Also a massive BMW geek myself so can relate!
I agree with about having the car repaired, I had a ford mondeo st200 many years ago that got hit in the rear, the insurance paid for the repairs, but weirdly never felt the same car to drive.
Well i didn't know it was crashed until now and really didn't expect it, the 140s are so nice especially that one with how personal it was. I think a good replacement for it could be a new new gen ford mustang.
Sorry to hear about the car bud. A good bmw I recommend you is the E9x m3 with the v8 that you put a super charger on it and easy make 600whp and reliable engine if you replace the rod bearing on them

2 years ago had a 1st car crashed when my car was stationary. At 40mph zone. Ive got a 3rd car now. Luckly since 2 years no more crash. But i hope it doesnr happen to nobody.
Ah man, gutted for you. Loved your videos of the car. These Insurance companies are long! My car was stolen and had all parts removed with chasi damage but they still tried to say it can be fixed 😡 eventually they paid out luckily. Bit like you I couldn't see the car in the same way after it was stolen and recovered.

the problem with buying a car now is they are 3k to 5k more than last year it's a jole how much they'v gone up in the last 12 months
I hope this goes some way to making you feel like your not the only one with horrendous bad luck. I bought a bmw 335d m sport paid £30k cash. Paid £600 to upgrade the brake pads all round with endless blue stuff pads. Took the car out to bed the brakes in and on the way back struck a pot hole deep enough to bury someone in. Totally obliterated a £780 alloy wheel and damaged the rear wheel on the same side. Got the vehicle recovered. After forking out £1700 to make the car roadworthy and nearly a year of pursuing the roads department they found themselves not to be at fault as they were not aware of the incident prior to it occurring 😂😂😂. Then over the following three months on the same stretch of road my windscreen was cracked by a flying object off the back of an hgv. Same road. Same circumstances. Three windscreens later!!

I guess she was tending to her pets at speed, distracted, eating, not paying attention and driving too fast. Please get another Bmw to mod. A new positive chapter and way forward in your life. Mate any setback is just setting you up for something better. This same situation happened to my girlfriend last year (parked, crushed against a curb by someone driving too fast in the snow, snapped rear axle) and the insurance payout was good enough to upgrade to a better car. Content for us youtubers at the end of the day, sucks that you lost your pride and joy but onwards and upwards. Glad you're doing alright, and I'll forgive you for calling my Cupra boring 😜
Sorry to hear about your crash, I would love to see a 3 series as it has a lot of upgrade/molding potential and it’s something different to a 1series

I have a 2016 F80 M3. If it’s in budget M2 or M3 I’d say is what you should get, but sure what ever you get will be bigger and better.
Also a massive BMW geek myself so can relate!
I agree with about having the car repaired, I had a ford mondeo st200 many years ago that got hit in the rear, the insurance paid for the repairs, but weirdly never felt the same car to drive.
I just got one last month. Get another mate, last of a dying breed 👍

Well i didn't know it was crashed until now and really didn't expect it, the 140s are so nice especially that one with how personal it was. I think a good replacement for it could be a new new gen ford mustang.

A good bmw I recommend you is the E9x m3 with the v8 that you put a super charger on it and easy make 600whp and reliable engine if you replace the rod bearing on them

I ordered a new factory order BMW to replace my current M140i in April 21 and have recently told the build slot has now been pushed back to Feb 22 due to the chip shortage 🙄

2 years ago had a 1st car crashed when my car was stationary. At 40mph zone. Ive got a 3rd car now. Luckly since 2 years no more crash. But i hope it doesnr happen to nobody.

Ah man, gutted for you. Loved your videos of the car. These Insurance companies are long! My car was stolen and had all parts removed with chasi damage but they still tried to say it can be fixed 😡 eventually they paid out luckily. Bit like you I couldn't see the car in the same way after it was stolen and recovered.
