I only ask because that showed an outstanding amount of self control. Honestly speaking, I know, I would not be able to contain myself from holding, hugging, and/or carrying him/her.

So I’ve been seeing a lot of this friendly contact in the wild over the past few decades. Are the animals more used to humans now because this is so impressively bizarre? Not sure I myself am ready for a trek like this lol. Please anyone inform me of anything and everything here. Amazing creatures. I mean the hug was just breathtaking. We should all do what we can to keep these beings around

Those tourists and the money they pay to see these animals is the ONLY reason that they have not gone extinct and that their numbers are in fact currently on the rise. Educate yourself before commenting on things which you obviously know nothing about.
I would have cried when that juvenile came up and then sat by the lady and hugged her side. How absolutely amazing.

I would have moved away bc if the parents felt threatened someone is dying
incredible once-in-a-lifetime encounter....so lucky to have felt the friendship from that youngster

WHAT an experience!!! Even when I was there as a PHD student for 2 years had I gotten that close to a live gorilla! WOW I'm JEALOUS!!
