    baby apes are the cutest...so innocent...playful and curious...they want to be friends..especially the gorillas and baby orangutans..would love to spend a season working/caring with them...and especially meeting the people who seem so nice...

    • @smallplanetpix
      @smallplanetpix  11 месяцев назад

      Hi. Glad you enjoyed the video. I was using the Canon RF70-200 which is an f2.8 lens so very good for low light situations. I think the 400mm i took was a little over the top. The zoom lens was far more useful.

    Hi, thank you for a great video. We have a trip to see the gorillas also in February. I have one question - how slippery did you find the walk. I have been thinking about using microspikes on my boots for extra grip. Thanks, Nick

    Okay - I'm a bit shocked. So the permit is $1500 per PERSON and for an hour? So my family of 3 = $4500 for one hour oO. So.... people recommend at least 3 days... that is $4500 x 3 = $13,500 for 3 hours? Am I correct assuming this? I'm shocked and want to cry. This has been on my bucket list for years and years. But I do not think I can afford this even if I ever retire. Eitherway how do you go on about finding an Operator?

      @smallplanetpix  4 месяца назад +1

      It was around 3-4 hours. I've done both trekking in Uganda and Rwanda and it was the roughly the same amount of time. But it really does depend on where the gorillas are that will determine how long the trek will be. It's different for all groups every day. Hope that helps.

      It's a lot of money for Rwanda. The Gorilla trek permit is $1500. For Uganda and Congo the permit is much cheaper.

      Uganda is just 800USD in two national parks ie Bwindi Impenetrable national park and Mgahinga Gorilla N.p

    • @smallplanetpix
      @smallplanetpix  5 месяцев назад

      I've done the Gorilla trek in Bwindi and it's just as good as Rwanda. Quite challenging in places but well worth it for the experience. Also, Uganda offers a wider safari experience than compared to Rwanda with game drives in Queen Elizabeth national park and Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve.

      @smallplanetpix  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the comment. Our guide was telling us that it's quite common to see the gorillas in the farm fields close to where people live and work. So i guess their territory is everywhere. We as humans need to learn how to co-exist with the wildlife around us.

    • @smallplanetpix

      The gorilla trek can be many hours if the animals are deep in to the forest. Maybe only two hours if they are closer.

    If you really want to help the gorillas stop being self centered and leave a huge donation and DON'T hike out to where they are trying to get away from humans and development. Leave them alone. Send money.❤
