My mom made rice for breakfast with raisins cooked in it.. not Minute Rice ..it was delicious and sweet from the hot soft raisins..we liked to add butter and milk to it. Thanks for the precious memories. She also made us Cream Of Wheat and oatmeal but mostly on the cold Ohio winter mornings. Thanks again for sharing.

We make a similar rice, called "Glorified Rice"; it, too, came from an old recipe, either out of a newspaper clipping or a church social.
The hot rice with butter and sugar and maybe warm milk was often our "cereal", growing up. To this day, Cream of Rice is one of my favorite hot cereals

I've seen pineapple rice served as a main dish, side dish, and dessert. I had a can of crushed pineapple where i had used some juice so I mixed it with rice and some English walnuts and then pecans. I preferred the pecans. I think I added one spoon (maybe something between a teaspoon and a tablespoon) of sugar to a little over 2 cups of rice. It was pretty good.

Yum! I will definitely be trying this. You know, we grew up on Minute Rice. I actually prefer the taste and especially the texture of it over the plain, unprocessed rice, which I think is too sticky.
We never had rice with butter-or at least Mom didn’t use it. Maybe grandmother put it in before I came to the table. I’ll have to give it a try. Like they say, “Everything is bettah with buttah.”
At home we had rice with sugar and milk, but grandmother always poured a little half-and-half over it which was so much better.

Consider draining the pineapple and make the juice part of the liquid for the water and this will make the dish less wet while only intensifying the flavor. If you need to cut the sugar consider replacing half or all of the sugar with granulated Swerve.

My mother used to make glorified rice which had pineapple in it and sometimes she’d put some chopped maraschino cherries. There was also whipped cream. Today you’d use cool whip. I loved it. I also liked frog eye salad. That was a bit more involved as it took a couple of days to make. These are nothing like your recipe. I wrote the comment before I finished watching. I’m going to try this. I’m making rice tomorrow so I’ll make a test serving. I made the pineapple casserole which was a big hit. This may be as well, but I’m going to test first.

My Mom's recipe cards was stained with so many ingredients, you can't read some of her instructions or ingredients. My way, take the sheet out of the book and when done, wipe it off and put it back in the binder. Since I don't have any children, my close friend has requested 3 or 4 things from me and my "cook book" is one of them. Please finish your cook book, I would love to have a copy. Here is a tip for people who love rice but have diabetes or pre-diabetes. If you refrigerate your cooked rice in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours (24 is better), it won’t raise your blood sugar like freshly cooked rice does. White rice is high in starches and therefore high glycemic which in turn will spike your blood sugar which is not good. Refrigerating your cooked rice will turn the starch into what is called resistant starch which lowers the carb contents of the rice and therefore the glucose in it as well.

    • @comesitatmytable9044

Next, purchase a small space to set up a one page website for folks to download and pay, very simple. Or you can direct folks to pay via PayPal then send them the electronic protected copy.
Lastly, I would do the above first to keep all monies. Contact Amazon after you have protected pdf file and tell them you would like print and sell the book to include kindal version. We understand. I don't know how it would turn out if you used a sugar substitute in this. We've never tried it that way so I can't advise you about that. I'm very sorry. We do appreciate that you watched our channel.

I cannot understand why 1 cup of sugar along with the pineapple would not be sweet enough and then if the pinapple was in heavy syrup...yikes...I mean my goodness that's alot of sugar... and butter. I would try this but I would definatly cut back on the sugar and butter and see how it goes...otherwise, interesting dish.

You are absolutely correct, I am sure it would be just fine to make those alterations. Have a great day, and we appreciate you for watching our video.
