- Time lapse - Creating a beautiful Cinema room from start to finish.
We converted this grotty old boot room in Surrey UK into a fabulous cinema room with fibre optic star ceiling. We think this is the best home theatre timelapse on youtube.

Those Star Panels are literally all I want for my room.

yeah but how? it doesnt look easy
still its seems like no one want to tell you where 2 get them.. SMH
@@kenned5224 It's really easy, MDF panels and insert led fibres.
Me too. Its all I came for. My wall is painted dark gray like pencil point and that was hit so hard in my ceiling.
wow it only takes 5 minutes to build a cinema room? I gotta try this! thanks for this video!
Lmao no, it's a timelapse
Like Beggar Patrol if he gets invited to them anyways

I Love the stars on the ceiling. Absolutely. Only the second time I've seen that setup. Good job.

Hello
You guys are awesome, I love your job. I wish to have a theatre in my home one day.
Thankyou, glad you liked it.
incredible to watch this hive of activity. I'm doing mine alone in my loft. Working after hrs and Saturdays and using only recycled material. Looks like a shanty town, but dream of one day, sitting down and watch Avatar in the my own big screen. All that wires? What did I learn....to swear like a Sailor!
Then you realise youve only got 2 friends :/
Shit. Once everyone catches wind of your smashing new home theatre, you’ll be needing that third row right quick with all your new found buddies. Lol.
Hutch214 lol
*Hutch214,* yummy, tasty fake buddies. Simply delicious.
that's because the first fake ones left.
Why are the speakers are mounted way above ear height? Also when you go to this expense, why not make it Dolby Atmos?
It´s amazing, I love it ... "if i were rich man" ...
this was a rollercoaster of emotions, loved every second!
This is my dream personal home theater
Those seats are GORGEOUS!!!
But where's the popcorn machine?

But you'll roast him over the $40 popcorn machine.
And refuse food from a fully loaded kitchen :)
I was going to start my own but changed my mind now. That looks hard 😂
What can I say ,what was in my mind about building my own dream theater this u tube video was all about . Perhaps one day I'll have something like this,
. Great job looks stunning guys, looks beautiful.
The background sound guy deserves an oscar
The ceiling looks AMAZING!!!!!
increíble
me quede sin palabras el trabajo más limpio y el acabado super woooooooow me encanto
woah the galaxy panel looking things are SO cool.
👏👏👏👏👏 one of the most pleasant videos I've ever watched. I'm sure it cost you a lot to build a home cinema room but it looks amazing!!!!
Thanks, Glad you liked it
I really love this ambience.
It's so great when you have the home with the space and then the loose change of money to afford a setup like this...
A real home theater deserves a cinemascope screen. 16:9 is for TVs.
Length of the room is about 5.9 Metres, Width at the widest part (the front) is 4.47 Metres.
The screen is 120 inch diagonal 16:9 (which we think is a bit small for the room), but that's the size the client decided upon.
It's 7.1 surround. - Atmos was offered as an option.
I think it's about 2.5 Metres to the first row and about 4.8 Metres viewing distance from the 2nd row.
As before I think that is longer than optimum for the screen size but it is the client's Cinema so it's the clien'ts choice.
UK Home Cinemas how much did this cost?
Here is a rough overview. To knock down walls to, extend an area to make the room square, carpets, painting, electrics, carpentry, move the boiler - the building works and supplies were about £35k (that doesn’t include the planning permission, architect, building regs fees).
The cinema seats were sourced carefully to get a low price of around = £7000
Projector, screen, Star ceiling, programming etc approx £9000. We used speakers which the client already had.
Total around £51k which didn't include the speakers. Please note that most of the cost here is building work and carpentry etc. we do many projects where there is no need to re model the room. If we are only adding cinema room equipment to an existing room and not providing seating, lighting etc the starting point for a complete HD cinema room system with 5.1 sound is around £6K but it is of course possible to spend a lot more for 4K / Atmos etc. We have example packages on our web site with pricing. ukhomecinemas.com/packages/dedicated-cinema-room/

What kind of chairs are those?

I would love to have one of these in my future home one day
imagine watching 2001 a space odyssey in this !!
GXBRXXL ' or Bladerunner! My God
The viewing experience would be horrible. They put in a 1.78:1 screen in, meaning all of the movies you just mentioned will be letterboxed (wider content fit into a 1.78:1 frame) because they were shot in 2.39:1 or anamorphic cinemascope, The content being projected will look smaller because of the black bars on the top and bottom.

Nice! Sleepovers would be amazing
How much money spent for this mini theatre
Don't even bother building a mini theatre at home, it isn't worth it. A much better and rational solution is to buy a SOFA and a TV and there you go, a great experience. (greater I would argue because the resolution of TVs especially the ones coming now in 2020 and beyond are insane)
@@Danuxsy My dad is looking into purchasing an 85 inch TV because they used to be $4,000 now it has come down to like $1-$2,000 price range! Just browsed at Best Buy the other day and my gosh the Ultra HD and OLED TV looks amazing and we might consider getting one.
@@Danuxsy I much rather have a bigger screen and sorund sound 8k resolution isn't that noticeable also more 4k projecters are coming out
@@Danuxsy I will just say personal opinion. but a sofa and a tv will NEVER even a 2020 OLED will NEVER outdue a well-built cinema room. The sound alone makes the experience 10x better, the seating alone makes the experience twice as good and don't get me started on a 120-200 inch screen projected by a 4k projector that in every way competes with an OLED besides black levels. More rational experience maybe but DEFINITELY not a better experience
@@Danuxsy completely wrong. We have a 65" oled and a 104" projector screen. The pic of the TV is better yes but the projector set up is miles and miles more immersive for a film you can't even compare. It's a long way aways until you can get an 'affordable' 120" oled or top class TV screen
Looks cool. Lots of work! First thought is sound solation. Is this a detached room or garage? Is the sound from surroundings going to leak into the space?..or the other way around? With all this work, id likely be considering building ROOM WITHIN A ROOM!
Regardless of that, my nexr thought is why not go BIGGER on the screen?!! Doing a near wall to wall TWICE as large screen, would be more cinematic and impactful! Anywhere from 1.4-1.7 gain micro perf screen , or brighter 4k projector could do the trick. Would look IMAX when installed correctly!
Another thought is bass traps and proper acoustical treatment. Particularly, a large bass trap could be built into the space, either above, below, or behind, to help absorb low end for balanced reverb in bottom end. Then traps in corners, and absorbs n reflects at reflection points n such.
Better results i think

With regard to room within a room that would be great, but its costly to do and would reduce the room size quite a lot. This house has a big garden, so I don't think that the neighbours are too close, so haven't been disturbed by sound leakage.
How ever disliked this video is not from this planet this build is nice
Sax be killing the vibe
I just wonder how long did it take to build all that .
I wish my movie theatre was like that
I love the stars
AWESOME. But if I had one built it would have to be a lot Larger Screen then that tiny one.

I don't agree. The old rule used to be 1.5 x the diagonal of the screen. This screen is 10 feet, so you would sit about 15 feet away for optimal viewing. They are sitting way too close for the size of this screen at 8.2'. THX calculator recommends 13.4 feet as the optimal viewing distance for a 10' screen.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH those are considered maximum viewing distances
Really nicely done cinema, thanks for sharing.
Dude now I want to build a cinema in my house 😬 might do it tho
How much does something like this cost? I want one!
What thing?
@@user-me3rt5lt2k the whole thing smh
It varies greatly but for this setup probably around 75K. You can easily get to close to a million dollars with a home cinema.
I did a similar setup, albeit smaller. I bought an Optoma 4K/HDR10 projector ($999), Yamaha RX-V585 AV receiver ($550), Jamo S809hcs 5.1 sound system ($500), Klipsch R-12SW subwoofer ($250), wires and cables ($150), cinema chairs ($500 total), Elite 120" motorized projector screen ($300), and hired a contractor to redo the ceiling and do the wiring (~$2,000), Synology NAS (to store movies, tv shows and stream them to my projector using Plex which works like a local Netflix, $250). Finally, I got a $35 popcorn machine hehe. So all-in cost is ~$6,000 +/- a couple hundred. Is it worth it? Hell yeah. No comparison with a regular TV and a soundbar. It's different. Once you try this experience, you'll never go back. I binge-watched Boardwalk Empire, Westworld and a couple other HBO masterpieces during the lockdown. Best time ever.
My advice to you would be: 1) wait for promotions (don't pay MSRP), 2) get refurbished items whenever you can (my projector's MSRP was $3,200 and I got it refurbished for $999), 3) get an AV receiver model that's one/two years old (no big differences in features but a lot cheaper), 4) make sure you pick the right equipment match (the speakers must match the AV receiver, the wires gauge must match the speakers AWG rating, the subwoofer must match the sound put out by your sound system, your projector screen must fit your wall dimensions, the projector's throw distance must fit your room orientation (also make sure you get a projector that puts out 16:9 image), the whole system must match your room's space),
If you need more help let me know. Also, there's a great website called Crutchfield.com. It's amazing. Give it a few minutes and browse around. You'll love it.

This is my dream set up for my man cave. Too bad I don't have a big enough room for it in my house.
how did you guys do that sky roof, it's awesome ! Is it a kind of panel or are it just small lights ?
It's a set of factory made panels from a company called Starscape here is a link to the relevant page on their web site. www.starscape.co.uk/home_cinema_lighting_infinity.php
really cool that this cinema is on their home page
UK Home Cinemas how would those panels work with Atmos speakers?
@@Ukhomecinemas yeah and now you can do it with magnetic panels its much easyer than you guyz did , but i love the video and work you did here awesome
they sell kits for that for like 30, 50 bucks on amazon and ebay,
allot of people do that today, and so easy to do yourself.
much better you search stars celing on ebay and amazon.
then look for some youtube videos on how to build them

Absolute perfect done great team works 📽🎞🖥🏠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻 my dream to do it if i buy house 🏠🖥🙏🏻😇
Wow! Beautiful!
Cool this should be cool to my house
Neat.
I guess I was disappointed, considering all that went into this room, that a more elegant solution wasn't found for that door.
salmonline and they didn’t remove the window
There are lots of flaws in this design, IMO. The seating is too close, the riser is too high, the back cabinet is kind of a lame place to put the receiver.
Wish you were here in the US beautiful work

It is awesome
Nice work, but the speaker design doesn't match with the interior.....😕
I agree. I wish the speakers were somehow embedded into the walls or something. The best they could do is get different color speakers.
OMG fantastic room!

Beautiful chairs. Where did you get the movie chairs. Love the design of it.
Amazing job!!
Any idea how much this whole set up would cost in Canada, an approximate would be great
