I dig this version of Rainbow with Ronnie Ramero. Don't get me wrong he is no Dio. But nobody is. But I do like him better than Joe Lynn Turner. And Gram Bonnet. I think they should do a lot more original stuff.
Sad that Ritchie and Ian cannot pull it together one more time. I think a large outdoor festival would be the way to do that of course with other ig groups to pull in the crowds.
Do you really think it would be good? I think it’s about 15 years too late. Age has caught up with both of them. Like all of us. You can only go to “that place” so many times. And age plays a factor. Especially when playing fast, aggressive music.

@@peteyoung7665 Except that Dio didn't sing "Stargazer" a semi-tone flat. That's pretty bad for any "professional" singer. In sticks out like a sore thumb to any musician with a half-decent ear like nails on a chalkboard. Also, this guy totally lack's Dio's modulation control and smoothness. This guy's voice is somewhat one-dimensional by comparison.
opening frames are amazing ....steve morse, ritchie , and a slightly plump joe satriani ...all auditioning for ozzys new guitar player position ....incredible ...but none of them got it !
The singer did okay (though completely lacks the dimensionality of RJD's voice). Until "Stargazer." He literally sang the entirety of "Stargazer" a semi-tone below the correct pitch for literally every vocal melody in the song. It's like someone tuned a singing machine down a half-step. Unbelievable. I couldn't finish listening to that one. Painful. It's just obvious that his singing is pitched down exactly one half-step. The dissonance where I can recall RJD's correct vocal melodies is striking. I'm baffled. How can someone sing in the wrong tuning as if their voice is a guitar set in the wrong tuning? And how did Blackmore get into this situation? I must admit I'm a bit stunned.
This is the same interview that he did with someone else and the same words and word for word. It's like, dubbed in. But outside of that this guy is a hero.
I thought Ronnie Romero didn't do the Dio songs well at All.Mistreated was Good.Jens Johansen. Awesome.Blackmore Awesome. Others? Ritchie is going to do what he wants to and I respect that.
Agreed, Jens was the best choice Ritchie ever could have made but the rhythm section was absolutely atrocious. Ritchie himself needed more time relearning the songs too
Romero a tad flat vocally, now he can see how farken great DIO was with his Pitch, anyway, still loved how frank and Honest RITCHIE Sounded.... 72 still a Legend as much as i hate CHILD IN TIME being crucified with Medieval flutes in Blackmore's Night. Heads up Ricardo !!
Romero in my view, seems to do a great job on the Gillan and Turner stuff, but tries too hard on the Dio stuff, bordering on karaoke. If he chilled out on the Dio stuff, then I think he would sound better.

I never really understood why he talked about wanting to play the Strat until I saw that fretboard. I need to stop buying guitars and start wearing mine out.
The neck is scalloped on purpose like a Lyre. Malmsteen uses a scalloped neck too. I am sure there are probably others as well. It makes it easier to bend notes however, by the same token the touch is very light and the accuracy has to be at the utmost level to accomplish getting the proper sound out.
Richie done the scalloping of the fretboard himself on his kriginal strat because he wanted to make is easier for the string be ds and also it allowed to him to play jsing a lighter tiuch, so he would be able tolay faster on solos if he wanted too. It took him about 3 weeks to do it because he was just using sandpaper and doing it carefully.
@@cricket8646 I used to think that, that you would need an extra light touch, but you really don’t, unless you use 7 or 8 gauge strings. I have the Blackmore signature Strat, and I was bit worried about such a big purchase, about whether I would have the right touch for it, but the only way it goes out of tune is if you really press down hard, which almost nobody who has been playing for more than a year or two will do. But yeah, it sure does make bending notes a whole lot easier. No slippage at all. Awesome guitar, best Fender I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a few.
Ronnie Romero such an underrated singer glad Blackmore gave him the big gig but seriously the drums need to be louder and guitar needs a loud of Marshalls behind it
@@blackpurple2230 blackmores slide technique is rare and hard but brilliant, he place the slide over his palm and frets it by holding it with index finger up and the other 3 fingers down, so he doesnt need to put the slide on a finger, yet using one its hidden behind the fretting fingers. and the way he sounds with his technique its another achievement in itself if u ask me.

Ritchie was once a great player. If he would get some real musicians and pay them right instead being so cheap I'd be more interested in paying to see Rainbow. This line up is a garage band version at best.
thing is because blackmore cant play fast like he used to if the rest of the band started really rocking out with crazy bass playing and smashing the drums complete with prancing around in open jackets and flares Ritchie would end up being drowned out completely.
