It's a bum tingler on a good day, never mind this weather! Brave man
Yes! There was no way I was venturing out to the middle though!
Brave man to go out and do a video for us to appreciate just how awful the storm is. Watching from Valencia where the storm damage will take ages before lots of people can return to a sort of normality. Thank God my area wasn't affected.😊
Thank you for braving the storm to bring us this video, The last time I visited the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct It was a warm sunny day.I would not want to be on the Aqueduct today. Do get inside by the fire with a hot cup of tea. And stay safe .😀👍
I can say that getting back indoors was certainly a relief today! It is crazy to think 6 days ago they had a helicopter flying around here recording peaky blinders!
it is better to be safe than go in a severe storm for views
That was brilliant, thank you for braving it and your little dog too.
Glad you enjoyed it! It’s unbelievable how much worse it got over the course of the day too!
it is good that youtubers keep safe and listen to the warnings rather than do dangerous things for views
Pretty graphic illustration. Thanks for that. Stay safe everyone. 🙏🙏
Yes, that’s proper raw power delivered without a second thought by nature!
Good decision to not view the Aqueduct any further along. Stay safe !
I've taken a boat over there in summertime and this is giving me the heebie jeebies 😮
Honestly, this is the sort of weather you “feel in your chest” if that makes sense, it almost brings a sense of dread!
Walked it twlce sailed over once but that is in another world.. it's an amazing piece of engineering hope it stays safe.. thanks for the video.
Oh, my. Scary stuff. I don't think I could traipse across the viaduct even on the best of summer days. 😂
Thank you for sharing. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Plenty more to come!
On a calm day the walk & the views are wonderful, Old Thomy Telford built things to last & look good doing it.
fantastic, thanks for venturing out
Glad you enjoyed the video... that is me absolutely done for the day though! I have never loved being indoors more than I do right now!
Get home and dry off and get the kettle on, we are still in for a bad day. We still got strong winds around Wrexham till 10 pm, catch you soon stay safe
It really is extraordinary, it has continued to get worse since this was filmed about 2 hours or so ago! It is good to be indoors!
Sun is out in aberdare 😂
Great posting mate & a wise decision to stay off the aqueduct.
Oh it's look frightening on the aquaduct. 😱
It's starting to look a bit breezy. Glad that you were sensible and returned home. Thanks for the video. And yes; that car park looks slightly under used for a Saturday.
I can’t even begin to tell you the relief of getting out of the wind. I don’t realise just how much it was deafening me until I stepped out of it and almost felt like things were too quiet!
The wind on Saturday. Discretion definitely the better idea.
If you stand with the basin at your back and look over the aquaduct, my sisters house is the last little white dot at the top of Yr Ochr, not a good place to be right about now. Have been caught halfway across the aquaduct before now biking to Llan and just watching a storm coming down the valley...ended up a 'bit' soggy...
Oh wow that’s a great local connection! I’ll keep an eye out!
I used to live in the Garth. Used to canoe on the canal and aquaduct and remember the first modern restoration of the aquaduct using cotton rag and pigs or bulls blood to seal between the plates. I know it has again been restored, and I think they used a different technique. Such a shame they don't tolerate campervan/Motorhome parking. Looks like it's Scotland and Europe.
Quite a stormy day. Hope everyone stays safe!
It is actually amazing to see what might be the stormiest weather I’ve ever experienced first hand! I definitely prefer viewing it through the window instead though!
Thanks for sharing. It looks amazing.
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it!
I know it well, been over lots of times and when you know how high it is you know how scary it will be in these conditions.
Yes, there was no way I was going out to the middle! I can’t imagine how exposed and battered I would have been by the conditions! Extraordinary!
Historical video!
It’s certainly something! Crazy to think 6 days ago they were filming peaky blinders here!
Nice one dan
Thanks! My ears are still ringing from the roar of the wind!
I did share it to my Facebook anyway
Wow stay safe
Will do! It’s got worse since this was filmed earlier!
great vlo9g on channel keep up the great vlogs thanks lee
Glad you enjoyed it… I’m glad my phone is waterproof!
1.25. Piece of cake for the Wood Pigeon.
It's great! Literally nature just seeing it as a bit of weather!
@ It’s the same in any scenes of severe weather in the high latitudes N or S, or even this weekend’s Storm Darragh. There’s always a seabird just getting on with it, masterfully.
Stay Safe - Stay Dry
Will do!
Stay indoors😊
All warm and tucked up with Gizmo the dog here! He is loving his lazy day!
It's as windy now like it was first thing this morning HORRENDOUS conditions in the hills of Wrexham
I really can’t believe it has managed to keep such a sustained level for so long! I honestly can’t remember conditions this bad with such staying power!
Amazing that 😬
It is certainly different to the usual weather!
take care.
Will do, I am having a very calm afternoon!
@@SortOfInteresting I think the wind is hitting here now. It's very loud.
It’s been relentless all day here, actually quite alarming when you see the damage being done and no let up in it for hours on end!
@@SortOfInteresting You were so brave going out there filming today. I hope you get some sleep tonight.
Ah, that is a lot of water even on the road, not to mention the aquaduct ! I would nt get anywhere near it
It is unbelievable to be honest. It must be the stormiest weather I have witnessed first hand!
Hope all is okay, wind died down etc. Have contacted friend on Anglesey, they said it really blowing hard
Yoo crazy going out in that Dan 😱 but thank you for braving it bruv 🙏😉Stay safe, stay at home, keep it roadworthy, and of course - fare thee well - til next time 👋😃
It is certainly different to last weekend when they were filming Peaky blinders from a helicopter over the aqueduct! I am (hopefully) done for the day now!
@@SortOfInteresting Put the kettle on, have a cuppa and a jam doughnut m8 - You've earnt it 👏🙏😂
exactly best stay safe and not dostupid things for views
Cant go over on a boat 😮
I certainly wouldn’t fancy it in this!
😮
It is wild out there today!
You should submit your video to main stream news media as this is breaking news and you appear to be the first on the scene.
😵😵
Certainly different to the nice calm summer videos I post!
Just imagineing a kayak
Why was not it closed?
I don’t think they do close it as such. There is just nobody around (apart from a random couple!)
Pray how would you close an aqueduct?😅
@@JulieGraham-u7b a barrier or bollards across the entrance would be put into place by emergency workers when they get notification of extreme weather
No thank you! It's a footbridge, with railings, in which people have to cross in each direction on foot to reach other villages. We don't see coastal paths or similar bridge types blocked off just because of a gale. @@terenceseymour-tf8rptassie725
They need to close that aqueduct in weather like this. I’ve watched videos of narrow boats crossing this aqueduct and it’s scary in blue skies and sun and no wind, but should never happen in this.
Honestly some of the previous storms there have still been hire boats going across! It’s crazy! (Not as bad as this, but nothing in my memory has been as bad as this!
More stormy videos please. The aqueduct looks great in the weather. Seeing the neighborhood around the aqueduct is interesting. Keep the home fires burning. 🐕👨👱♀🔥
I’ll have to come back and do a “normal” conditions walk about video! This storm has been unlike anything I have ever experienced, that isn’t hyperbole that is the actual truth!
@@SortOfInteresting Others are saying the same. I like your wet and windy videos.
it is good that youtubers keep safe, than put themselves in danger for views
@@beaulieuc8910 Dan is an experienced outdoorsman and RUclipsr. Having been a subscriber for years, I look forward to his videos of weather. He always does them well and safely. I've never had the sense that he would endanger himself for mere views-- far from it. So don't worry, Dan will keep himself safe. He even drives to work now.
If I’d have crossed the aqueduct then I would have actually been in real danger, that’s sort of the point that has been lost in the short video clip!
no idiots on paddle boards going across today then
Only one idiot covered in waterproofs and barely audible on camera today! 😅
good to get away from the wind, not worth it for views
Yes, no chance was I going out to the really windy bit in the middle!
