    I took the 12000 watt surron for a canyon rip in Malibu, come along for a ride with me on this electric bike.... or is it an electric motorcycle? This isn't the sur ron natural habitat for riding, but it sure is fun winding and weaving the canyons on this personal electric vehicle.

    For those that talk about motorcycles on those roads, yes, it happens. I totaled a R1 in there a while ago. It was, as you mentioned, sand on the road in a corner. The bike just slid out. That is why I would be leery doing it on a suron. A tire that is 2-3 inches wide versus something that is 8 inches makes a huge difference in traction.

As far as a hub motor im guessing you're not talking about a sur ron. I would check on the maximum rating for it and for the controller, I had an old mountain bike that I threw a ViolaMart hub motor/controller kit that was a 48v but the controller could handle up to 60v. A *fully* charged 72v will be about 84v. Would very likely ruin the hub motor after a few rides if not fry the controller.

    being in Canada, having a sur ron is not a good idea, even the new 2022 with the pedals the price is way too expensive you have to add a 1000$ minimum for the Canadian price

    I am just curious I wanted to ask a few questions and please don’t take them the wrong way I don’t own a sur ron I thought these bikes were capable of 65 mph out of the box and with the upgrade what’s the top speed ???? Also again just curious why upgrade to 72v if the bike is not capable of utilizing the extra power for long periods of time with overheating???? Or is there other things you can buy to change the overall overheating to a minimum. Loved the video definitely enjoyed watching it thanks in advance. Saying hello from Connecticut 👍👋😎

    • @JuicedJoyrides
      @JuicedJoyrides  Год назад +1

      These bikes go about 40 out of the box, and that really depends on your body weight. The 72 V battery is capable of outputting 12,000 W compared to you about 5000 W stock, so it’s not really so much about top speed as being able to accelerate rapidly, and still have rapid acceleration from like 30 up to 50. If you hold speeds of 50 mph and more it’s going to rapidly deplete the battery, and I don’t really find it worth it to cruise that fast. essentially upgrading to the more powerful battery and controller just gives much quicker acceleration at any point while riding, when this bike was stock it did not have any zip once it got over about 25 mph, and now it will pop the front wheel right off the ground at 30 mph and zoom straight up to over 50 very quickly. Hope this helps you understand!

      @@JuicedJoyrides thanks for replying and giving me the information I definitely appreciate that. I definitely must have misunderstood the stock specks there are so many channels with these bikes it’s mind boggling lol 😂 but at least now I have a better understanding of what these things are capable of doing stock and with a few upgrades again thanks for the quick response most channels don’t even bother or just give a 👍 up on your comment take care and stay safe and blessed

      Stock they do 45 mph ish and equal acceleration to a 110cc 4 stroke gas dirt bike . 72 volt 15kw tune equal to acceleration of a 250cc 4 stroke bike . Huge power gains in acceleration. 72 volt also gives you more top speed. I have done 75mph with mine . 72 volt battery/controller upgrade is very common and worth power. It will cost you 3500 ish dollars to give you a idea just for battery and controller

      Yes short range but a lot of fun and v light! Around 100pounds, I can chuck it (laid down too) in a car and drive out whereever. Def nothing wrong with gas and gas motors have their advantages, but this thing is v fun and can be more mobile than gas in certain aspects.

      @@bslothed3211 I love my sur ron as much as the next guy, but that range claim is bogus lol how long of a range is a 72v battery? if it doubles the range then at slow speeds, 120+ miles? On a Ninja 300, you could ride in freeway speeds for nearly 300 miles and fill it back up in 5 minutes. I love EV but we still got a lot of ways to go in terms of range.
