    Brimfield......WOW. What a place. I worked it as a vendor many years ago. Sold framed distressed art I made. Five day show, left after four. Had made my money and was ready to go back to NY State. Visited a few times with my wife and bought too much stuff. LOL The place is one of a kind.

    I’m so happy you bought the 1982 Knoxville TN Worlds Fair pin. My mother, stepfather, and stepsister all got to attend. My sister and I still lived in VA with our grandparents and school had already started and we weren’t allowed to go. I’ve never forgotten how upset we were and jealous that our stepsister(who lived in TN), was allowed to go but we weren’t. School in TN hadn’t started yet but when you’re a kid you just don’t understand.

      My parents were antique dealers for many years.they saved all their best stuff for brimfield. This was 70's80's we did the may show in the original field,then moved to one of the newer fields down the street. We would get breakfast at the church in town. Don't know if they still do that. Back then it was strictly the best and rarest stuff . I haven't been in many years. Looks like its a large average flea market now. Some things weren't even vintage! The market has changed, and so has Brimfield I see. Do they still have the amazing lilacs near the porta potties in the old field? As a kid I member them well. Lots memories there and at smaller flea markets.

    • @christinehutchins123
      @christinehutchins123 Месяц назад

      As I said, it’s become a fairly average flea market. Lots of variety because it’s so large but not what you used to see. Years past (70’s-80’s) only the best and rarest antiques were at Brimfield. Dealers would save their best finds for Brimfield. It wasn’t vintage, it wasn’t new, it wasn’t common stuff. Things change , the market changes, it’s just become a very large somewhat average fleamarket. For anyone who loved the way it was it would be very disappointing now. Maybe you just had to see it in hen to understand.
