    We purchased land with a farmhouse. Sadly, it has vaulted ceilings where the kitchen is NOT centered under the middle of the vaulted ceiling. They had no overhead lights! Trying to figure out out how to light up this kitchen. I’m going to watch every video you have to hopefully find some solution. Keep up with the great info!

    Those regressed lights, were they canless? Any recommendations for canless LED lights?

    Very helpful information! Ty! My husband installed wafer lights instead of recessed lights and the entire first floor lighting is SO OFF! Who am I supposed to hire to do the job the correct way? Even if we need to shelve out the $$$. Lighting makes the biggest difference and I need help!

    • @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa
      @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa  Месяц назад

      You can replace the wafer with true recessed lights fairly easily. If they have their own transformer box for each fixture, you may need to look for recessed that has the same. I’m not an electrician🤣🧑‍🎨 so check with one but it’s never as complicated as they say🤣

    You're a wealth of information, thank you! Now, seeing my husband somehow put these things through the expensive tin ceiling tiles we bought (his idea) will probably be the thing that sends me over the edge. 😖🤣 Might have to switch to just one bigger overhead light... we really don't know what we're doing! (We do have undercab and task lighting planned though!)

      You can do it! Under cabinet lighting is so powerful these days. Just check the lumens output!

    Great info, thanks. Do any of these have light that changes color temp with a dimmer? For example bright white when cranked up but a warm white when dimmed.

    When I renovated my house 30 years ago I installed commercial grease 6-in Lightolier brand cans that are designed to be both downlight and wall wash simultaneously. They are commercial lights and I've never seen anything else like them. I installed more than 25 of them. They had a parabolic reflector with a hole cut out of one side and another more spherical reflector in the rough in. So like a reflected both down and to the side. It was designed for A19 or A21 bulbs. Now that tungsten bulbs have become difficult to get I need to change the lights. Contemporary A19/21 LED bulbs do not disperse the light properly in the parabolic reflector. They point almost all their lights straight down and I don't get the beautiful lighting effect I once had. What can I replace these with. I'm willing to use a retrofit or to yank the old fixture out and put a whole new fixture in. Any ideas or recommendations?

      Unfortunately, replacing the housing will be the only answer as the bulbs become more scarce. In the mean time, have you scoured the internet for sources to stockpile? USA light, other wholesalers?

      All of my lights in the house are on dimmers controlled by my smart house software. I always buy 100 watt bulbs so I can dim them for the best lighting and still have bright light should I need it. I love the GE reveal bulb that had a slight blue tint to the glass. Now all I can find are halogen bulbs it seemed to be more yellow and don't have the full 1600 lumen output. Ace hardware used to sell them in bulk as commercial bulbs. Hopefully LED technology will improve with a fuller light spectrum and good dimmability in an A19 or A21

      @@davidk1501 the odds aren’t good, unfortunately! The led lights are cheap, a favorite of the enviro lawmakers and snuffing out the rest.
