i was just talking to my girlfriend about that the other day. I said take a listen to this song (shes never heard it before) and she said it was oddly nostalgic. Ive known this song for years and it will forever be my favorite SP song!

It makes me happy that people know about the beautiful chords formed from the alternate tuning on the second guitar, they were originally mixed in by an acoustic guitar with the main distorted power chords on Siamese and it’s pure talent and genius how they blended the two at the right levels. Love the poignant intro and outro! This is how it’s meant to be played, superb job man.

If you remove the flanger from the second guitar but increase it on the lead, as well as move the lead's pickup toggle from the bridge position to the middle position you will come even closer to the original tone. The solo's tone was spot on so if you want I'd recommend keeping that tone for the solo but adjusting the intro tone

Yep! It's very annoying! A lot of the Siamese Dream songs get blocked...
one of my strings (which i put on less than two months earlier) broke once i re-tuned the guitar to standard after a week of playing only this tune. was it worth it? yes it was

I can never find out how they get those harmonics in between those power chord breaks
I've always assumed they are feedback and not harmonics. They will have put recorded some of these tracks VERY loud in the studio... so easy to get uncontrolled feedback!
@@SparkyGuitar it was Billy's 'awful' guitar. It would feedback as soon as he stopped playing.
The squeal during the chorus... i have heard that billy used an older guitar with shit pickups that naturally made that sound when he palm muted. How did you recreate that? Ive been trying to do so for a while now.
Hi there! The squeal you hear is simply the original track coming through (that I'm playing over). Recreating that was never going to happen! Good to hear how they did it though... because it is a wonderful noise. SP use silence brilliantly... and that feedback makes the pauses really powerful!

Hi Frank. Clean sounds are a phaser (Small Stone copy in GuitarRig) and plenty of reverb. Heavy sounds are Big Muff into a Marshall...

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. For Billy all of the guitar is tuned down. Only one of the strings for James is tuned up - the A string - all of the others are down. Which string went?
@@SparkyGuitar I guess it's impossible to tune this in acoustic because it gets too tight and the string breaks everytime
I’ve just corrected above… I got Billy and James mixes up. The only string that is tuned up is the a string on James’s guitar… and that is up 1 semi-tone to Bb. (Every other string is tuned down to get to the note) Was that the one that went? A string shouldn’t break if tuned up just one semitone - so I’m just checking you’ve got the right tuning..
