I have a "School of rock" club at our middle school that I lead after school. Each year I introduce my favorite bands and songs from the 90s (when I was in my 20s). They are never interested or know who these bands are. But to their credit they introduce me to cool new music that I did not know about. And I let them choose what songs they want to perform or learn.
looks like the singer handled it by hitting the harmonic on the E string 3rd fret. Billy did it with a janky guitar. this guy explains it here ruclips.net/user/shortsSAQSjPpubMI?si=5f7EGl3rP39GGlQn
Absolutely nailed those guitar tones. Vocals were on point. Very very talented. Got the chills while listening to this. You have the rare talent to touch people through music. Keep going!
Uh. OK😅 in parts.. it was ok. The sound . Clda/shld been better. I know it's just a cell phone taking the video as is.. and..for that? It's good. Wish they had a 'recorded Version's the CLD play over the video. Or..a better sound recorder. But?! It's Rock n roll! Keep going! PLEASE!😊❤️
Whoever turned these kids onto the Pumpkins and this whole genre/period in rock deserves a medal, and so do the kids for having excellent taste and love of great music. It takes a lot of guts, especially at that age,to go up on stage and play something that many,if not all of their audience have never heard.
I second what almost everyone else said. My God, this brought tears to my eyes. Has been in my top 5 favorite song category since '93 or so and seeing you guys do this SO well is truly inspiring. Keep getting it.
Im growing older, and a little colder, but seeing this literally helps me see the worlds not the complete shitstorm social media and tv makes it out to be
41y/o musician of 30yrs here and this hit me right in the feels. Would pay to see this band live. Keep it up and best of luck in your musical journey. This reminds me of my friends and I in the ‘90s at this age. Just… wow. Thank y’all for posting.
From a guy who has a massive smashing pumpkins tattoo and has seen the band 4 times - fantastic. Wouldn’t change a thing on this cover. I wish everyone in that crowd knows how bad ass that was. Always old I’ll always feel this.
Fantastic! Warms my stone-cold GenX heart to hear kids this young not only playing this live, but nailing every aspect of it. Wishing you all great success! Oh and please do Stars by Hum for your next one 😎
Amazing. I don't want to be that old guy but when that Pumpkins album came out and we all heard it for the first time, there was a feeling that you'd only understand if you were there in that time too. It's not a feeling I could describe without going into some long boring story about memories, friendships, putting yourself out there on that highschool stage etc. I see a performance like this and I feel like you totally get it because you captured that here. Great performance, the guitar tone is fantastic and those drums sound huge like they are supposed to for this song, the drummer captures that Jimmy Chamberlain swing and I like the tom fill at the end of the bridge. The vocals are absolutely spot on, the delivery captures that angsty/melancholic Billy Corgan sound - really impressive.
Awesome job guys!!! It warms my heart to see the younger generation covering some pumpkins!! I’m a musician myself and the way the kids are in my hometown, they just don’t have any interest in even playing an instrument and the ones that do just give up because they see no one that’s alike so they just get discouraged and give up…. Keep it up guys!! Rock it and never be afraid to write and express yourselves!! 🤟🏽🤟🏽
I'm 44 years old and I too played this song with my friends at your age in our basement band!! You're light years ahead of quality taste in real music of guitars that meet emotions that meet lyrical connection!! the future is not lost with thinkers and music lovers as you and your friends displayed! play on!! I am taking my family next week, 9/11 Texas concert, Wednesday...Smashing Pumpkins opening for Green Day! They want SP more than GD, me and my wife have seen SP many times...but wife and I have never seen GD! So this will be an epic first for all of us!!
GLad to see this young kids playing this music. I listened and played it to like 20 years after it was released. But because i was into other types of music as a kid
So glad these kids listen to the Pumpkins before they sold out. If I hear Bullet With Butterfly Wings one more time, I’m going to jam an icepick in my earhole.
I cover this with my band as lead guitar so I attest that singing this + lead guitar with that caliber and at that age is nothing short of amazing. Shouts talent man hope bro has kept this up 🥲
Kids of today playing Smashing Pumpkins...may the circle remain unbroken
May the circle be remain unbroken. Beautifully said.
I’m so fuckin happy kids in this generation are not only listening to smashing pumpkins but performing it at their school. I’m proud.
What a choice of a song right?!?
I’m performing soma with my friends in June this year

"the kids are alright..."
Heh, that's funny.
They even nailed the feedback whistles.
How’d they do that 😅
100%
where are they?

@@Shockwave99999 Just a natural harmonic on the low E string

Crushed it !
OH GOD. The guitar tone is unreal. This what I've been saying, Pumpkins was inches away from being shoegaze. What an insane tribute cover.
TSP are definitively a shoegaze-grunge-band tho, this entire album is pretty shoegaze
shoegaze was a huge influence on Corgan. they transcended it with other influences. one of the most important bands of the 90s
I saw them live on 1993 in a small Sydney show. This was the best rendition I have heard in over 30 years. Well done kids
Wow, thank you!
Drummer's work on open high hats deserves special praise. Just awesome job guys.
This warmed my 48 year old heart. Well done guys!
I’m glad! Thank you :)
You may not know it but your classmates will remember this forever.

I’ve watched this cover a 100 times since yesterday! This is by far the best cover of any song over heard in my life!! Billy Corgan should hear this!
Thank you! ❤
Wow that ending was awesome! Nothing cringy about this performance from start to finish, nailed it
Thanks!
I bet their parents are so proud, absolute legends
I appreciate it, thank you so much!
I second what almost everyone else said. My God, this brought tears to my eyes. Has been in my top 5 favorite song category since '93 or so and seeing you guys do this SO well is truly inspiring. Keep getting it.
Aw man, thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed :)

To pick such a sleeper of a song like this…. Good taste! And y’all nailed it to the ceiling. Great job!

As an ol' GenX'r for whom this album was life changing, it brings me much joy to see the next generation keeping this music alive. Carry on, homies!
The way this was filmed made it feel like 90s haha great video
"Heres an original song we wrote ourselves..." Nice job guys. Sounds great.
From a guy who has a massive smashing pumpkins tattoo and has seen the band 4 times - fantastic. Wouldn’t change a thing on this cover. I wish everyone in that crowd knows how bad ass that was. Always old I’ll always feel this.
Thanks man!
This brought tears to my eyes. Mayonnaise is such a beautiful song and you all did it justice.
Wow! You guys played this so well! Never thought I'd see a younger generation covering this song. Awesome job! :)

I am genuinely in awe with how close this sounds to the record. Well done!
Amazing to see (and hear). The kids are gonna be alright
What a tribute
That intro set the vibes , when the drums and bass came in, the heart beat of the song was incredible at that moment...
Top notch jam kiddos! You all rock. The rhythm section was spot on rocking.
I grew up with Smashing Pumpkins. You guys absolutely nailed this. I know this was months ago, but ya’ll should be so proud of yourselves.
Thank you!
This gives me hope for the future. Never stop, kids.

Very nice job by all of you. I was 14 when SD came out, it’s one of the best albums of the 90s, especially for guitar players
