I love this. It took me a couple days to get all the way through the video. Life gets in the way as you know. Thanks for a great video and a fun dress.
Although the dress is not to my taste, good for you for doing what you want to do and not taking notice of the doom mongers. I love your channel and learn a lot from you . Thank you 🪡🧵✂️
This video was great! I’m somewhere between confident beginner and intermediate sewist. Self taught with great videos like this. I made this dress this week and learned so much from you! Thank you!
I love this project. Marie, thank you for always putting up practical and fun sewing videos. Sometimes stash-busting projects are just the thing you need for a fun piece of clothing. :)
The blending of coffee drips. 🤣 Haha. You get me. Whenever I miss my mouth I say to myself, "Oops. I thought I was taller." Beautiful dress for being comfortable and lovely at the same time.
God bless you sis! I just saw a mom and daughter wearing this same pattern as swim cover ups. They did a very good job, and I said I believe they made those. And whaddya know you did a sew along. Always a blessing, take care ❤
Love it Marie. Your problem solving skills are just fab!! We’re not going to miss you in a crowd for sure. Thanks for all of your tips and techniques 🙋🏼🏴
I really LOVE your videos, I learn so much. It's those little comments like, "I'll make it work" etc. And that your not afraid to change plan in the middle of a project. You give lots of little tips n tricks to help get a really good finish. I'm only a guy you understand, but I think you look great in it. 😉 Greetings from North Wales UK 🙋🏻♂
It's so pretty and summery. In my opinion it matches your wonderful energy so perfectly. I love the way you are able to adjust your project on the fly ! Love it
This could be a cute top with just the top ruffle. I think I have a similarly shaped vintage pattern to the top that I might through a ruffle on as a test to the theory. 🌈🌈🦋🦋 The dress is super fun! We of an age where “rules” no longer matter. Our wardrobe should make us smile!
This dress reminds me of a layer cake dress. It is a great stashbuster. I like the fabrics you chose. It is good to see the trial and error. Marie, your dress is very pretty. Marie, I like your creativity. 😊
I love this and the whole idea behind it! No matter what fabric you decided to use I believe it would have been fantastic because fun is the name of the game and fun it is! TFS and teaching us so much always ❣️💙
I just came across your video and have subscribed! Great teaching tutorial on this dress. I need to see your other videos to see what you've been up too. I'm a hippy/bohemian type of gal, growing up in the era of peasant tops, dashikis, midi and maxi dresses/skirts (no mini skirts in school!). The color choices are great and how you made them work together, and most of all, you look fantastic in it. I haven't made clothes in decades, so I'm rusty as heck, but I know you're going to get me back in the grove. Far out and Peace!
I like your tip regarding how to tell if it was prewashed. I often get confused about which was prewashed because initially unless it was purchased from thrift I wasn’t prewashing. I’ve never prewashed rick rack! Thanks for sharing this.
My entire sewing experience I was building radio harnesses for a railroad, making heavy duty "grips" commonly called backpacks. My entire sewing experience is using industrial walking feed machines. I do have 2 industrial machines that are designed to sew lightweight to medium weight fabrics (heavy denim.) Since I can't use those two machines for the items I'm currently making, I want to learn how to sew garments using patterns, learn how to read patterns. I'm seeing a different side of your talents with the garments you make than from restoring and painting the machines.
HI! glad you found me over here. I'm thinking this playlist for a classic men's flannel shirt could be something useful for you. Thank you so much! 🙂 ruclips.net/p/PLPnz8QZWrc1AC170EvSgOj9w3r7IqarUk&si=DJIS4-5ts-LC1y8X
@@mybucoliclife I also was looking at that, another great project. Now that you have Rosie, a playlist for your men followers, I don't know how many you have but you can do projects for men also. Like riding dusters, heavy canvas vests and similar projects, or even upholstery projects, let the ideas flow! Rosie just opened up a whole new frontier for you. I bet a number of your women members also have industrial sewing machines that can make such garments.
Interesting project. 🤨 Scraps AND fabric dying.😳😂 You’re definitely a creative risk taker. 😅 It will absolutely make you smile when you wear it. You go, girl! I’m watching on & off as chores permit. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out.🧐 I like the final version without the extra ruffle, much cooler to wear and no chance of tripping over it on the stairs! Congratulations 🎊 On a side note, my SIL once made a pawpaw pie using vanilla pudding. It was delicious and tasted sort of like banana cream pie.
It turned out so cute! I don’t think I would have been brave enough to mix all the different patterns. ❤️ I would just block the naysayers! They should just mind their own business!!!!
I wonder if you could have added light weight fusible interfacing as an underlining to the almost see through fabric. Would that solve the see through problem?
That turned out cute....good call to leave off the last ruffle. To any detractors, I would say, "Had you been around in the late '60's and early '70's you might have needed therapy." They make me roll my eyes and move on.......
I bought the pattern before I even finished the video… lol and today the fabric. I look forward to your videos and learning as I go….❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love this. It took me a couple days to get all the way through the video. Life gets in the way as you know. Thanks for a great video and a fun dress.
Love, love it! So fun!😁🥰
I'm so unhappy. I have no stash to bust. 😂 I definitely need to sew more. Your stash busting dress is just too cute ❤!
Youre right, it is cute and looks so lovely on you. Just goes to show you have to trust your instincts.
Super cute dress!!
So cute and I love the colour combos ❤
Love the dress! Absolutely fabulous! Hoping to see some more of the trash panda fabric...

The blending of coffee drips. 🤣 Haha. You get me. Whenever I miss my mouth I say to myself, "Oops. I thought I was taller." Beautiful dress for being comfortable and lovely at the same time.
Too funny, I gotta remember next time I miss my mouth 😂 !

I made the same dress this week. I think yours is very bright and beautiful.

Rules? What rules? I laugh in the face of rules? (laughs like a wild woman)
Yes, I was thinking I’d like a top

Thanks for the heads up with the tensions on a overlocker serger. Great dress 😊
Your dress is so cute for summer. Looks so carefree and FUN1!!
I love the idea of using left over pieces of fabric. I have to do that. 😊
I love it❤
Thank you so much!! I needed this last week, but now I know where I went wrong!
Dress is so cute!🎉 Just block the naysayers ❤

Welcome, I have all kinds of projects, definitely a few gypsy friendly ones too :)
What a cute, fun dress. You made the right decision to leave that bottom ruffle off. Great project. ❤️
l👀 reminds me of the dresses I wore back in the 1960 s. Yes I am that old. Great project,

For me it's cute on you very colorful🤩🤩

A little Tula Pink!

A white full slip would work too.
❤!

has your daughter gotten married yet? I hope you show us her in her wedding dress you made for her....
October! I'll post photos after, I promise.

Love you Joan!
I love your intro of your farm. Can you please share what the fruit is that looks a bit like a mango?
That's a pawpaw. When they are ripe, they taste like mango pudding 😁
O
Oh, isn't that cute works for me too. Great GMA at the beach isn't my goal either 😅
Is the fabric cotton poplin?
More like calico weight and voile weight
@@mybucoliclife thanks👍🏻
My question exactly. Being the fruit nut that I am. What is it?
It's a pawpaw!
Love it 😊
