To anyone who says this doesn’t cover everything: *_It’s a Crash course._* Of course it doesn’t. It’s designed and condensed to get a newer painter started with solid footing. Also, I hate my overhead setup but it’s as good as it’s going to get…
I have been free handing for years and I would like to say I am fairly average at it. But this video, even though you label it as for beginners, still managed to give me some helpful tips that I have already tried incorporating into my painting. Great job and keep making videos like this, you have a rare gift of both brush skill as well as being able to present it in a funny and well-edited video.
Omfg thank-you! Been holding my breath, elbows on the table, probably squeezing that brush like a UK economy. You've probably just added years onto my life.
I appreciate the self-awareness in how often you type 'crass' instead of 'crash' in this, because of your humorous attitude with the profanity. I see it as something that just adds to your excitement in how anyone can do this, and you really want people to know that, and feel encouraged.
Hey, thanks for this fantastic video, it's criminal that this video doesnt have more views, as a new-ish painter (Started maybe a year ago) this is exacly what i needed to dip my toes into freehand. No doubt i will paint a kindergarden style abomination this weekend but i will be trying it out! Best of luck, and thank you again
Thanks so much! I figured keeping it methodical would allow everyone to adapt it to their own needs, and I'm glad it's now catching on because of that! I hope many more come to enjoy freehand too!
This video is currently at 517 views, I did not realize this until 18:40 seconds after my initial click. I dont paint, I have never painted, I never once thought to paint... DD Builds has somehow shown me the fun of painting through an incredibly talented video with perfect clips, Jokes, Pop up bird figure. I am shocked at the high show of talent in this video and I truly believe that DD Builds will build an audience. Just Incredible.
Genuinely, you are one of the most inspiring and quickly informative content creators out there. Genuinely freehanding is one of those things that seemed insurmountably difficult, but seeing your progress is amazing. Thank you.
Thank you very much for encouraging me to freehand. I just finished my first Breton symbol on a shield. Yes, it turned out a bit crooked, but I think it was pretty good for the first time. Thanks again, best regards.
Thank you for not saying "just practise".. Learning the theory and techniques are so important and I think you did an amazing job breaking everything down. I'm feeling pumped up to try some freehand >:)
I wish more people would try freehand, especially landscapes. I started to throw colour matched mini Bob Ross works on my space marine shoulder pads to spice things up and it has quickly become my favourite part of each process. Great video! Subbed and searched you out on Instagram to sub there too. Keep it up!
Thanks! I agree - more should dive into Freehand so that's my hope this video helped at least a few get into it. Though it is my last video of this sort for the foreseeable future
DD these graphics and the video itself are insane!! I’m only a few minutes in and I’m already feeling the need to BREAK OUT THE BRUSH!! *SHUT UP DOUBTFUL WILL IN MY HEAD!! DD SAYS I CAN DO IT!!*
0:48 holy shit. I didn't see it at first, and had to do a double take at what I was looking at. Edit: 6:06 And I've learned something new. nice. Ty. Funny, though that I've used this technique in making art on PC, but never in painting.
Great tutorial. I'll definitely use some ideas from here. Against shaky hands I'd add my experience: eating. Eat filling meal or something that brings my blood sugar level to a steady level and then start painting. Your empty stomach is your enemy.
Love this all of it gives me hope that I'd be able to actually free hand even with my shit art abilities and best joke for me was arguing on the internet is about as effective as a broken condom 🤣 again love this entire video thank you

i think its a crass course 🤔😂 im sorry i had to
@@Josh-qm7fl More crash than crass compared to my others but this one needed that balance 😅
"There are no mistakes, only opportunities to add battle damage." - Bob Ross, probably.
That's so metal out of context

dude you deserve way more subs and views, excellent videos, and also very entertaining with great humor. Love it and subscribed !
Omfg thank-you!
Been holding my breath, elbows on the table, probably squeezing that brush like a UK economy. You've probably just added years onto my life.
And maybe years onto the brushes too! Happy painting!

I'm glad you appreciated the wordplay! I'm very much not a teacher - just a dude trying to share knowledge casually while keeping things entertaining!
Talented, concise and funny enough to make me chuckle out loud. Hope the algorithm picks you up soon. Quality stuff.

You, sir, are a true artist. This is fantastic advice for painting any sort of figures in any genre and in any scale.

something not mentioned but can also really help. You can sketch your idea on to the surface with a pencil and paint over it.
Thanks for the video. It's clear, entertaining and we get to see some seriously gorgeous paintjob.
Hilariously great information. Subscribed!
