CAN I SAIL AN 18FT SKIFF? How hard can it be?

The Sixt 18ft Skiff Racing Ream offered Ben a joy ride on an 18ft Skiff. But how hard can it really be for a non-skiff sailor?

Very envious. When I started sailing in 1971 I was in awe of the eighteens on Sydney Harbour but I have never been lucky enough to sail on one. Obviously different safety requirements in Europe as not a PFD in sight.

None of the sailors wear buoyancy aid's due to the chance of entrapment under the wings and sails etc. If you are unlucky enough to get caught underneath something you can then swim down and out to escape, rather than being forced up into the netting/ sails!
