In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
That's not how you use the word ironic. You dont use it on something that has actually happen. If you think that he's doing something but he actually is doing something else then it's ironic. One thing happen, the other doesn't.
+Bobby Singer YES, the very first thing I thought when I saw the film (or that part of if anyway). It's a fantastic film, obscene in parts but I find it fascinating. Really taps into a dark sense of humour, just as well as I've ever seen a film do that, give it a watch.
Christian bales presence of mind after killing Paul is very extreme, when lighting the cigar he remembers to uncover his finger socket, knowing no air disturbance present in the room.
Anyone else notice that the blood trail vanishes after he drags the body past the guard? The previous shot has a long stream from the lift and through the lobby. Once he's at the doors, there is no longer any trail nor is there any blood coming out of the bag as he stuffs it into the taxi's boot.
it was because he was so much better than him. better card, better job, better hair cut, better house, and he can get a reservation at dorsia which is very difficult to get in
Do you like Hewy Louis and the News? I found their earlier work to be a little too new wave for my taste.... but when SPORTS came out in 83' they really came into their own; both artistically and commercially. They have a whole nother' wave of consumate professionalism that really gives the songs a BIG boost....
One bit I enjoyed was at 1:48 when half of his face is covered in blood whereas the other half is somewhat clean, further showcases the conflicting personalities at constant odds with eachother l
I always loved the idea of Bateman in this movie. I always loved how he had like different personalities almost ever time he killed somebody. My favorite is this scene because Bateman wants to act like that stereotypical rich white man with the way he uses his voice. This whole movie just showed how great of an actor Christian Bale is.
Look at the hallway before and after he drags the body. While he's in there, blood is smeared across the floor, but when he goes outside, the shot shows a clear floor. Paul Allen wasn't even in the bag.
He is so strong and resilient for continuing acting even after much bullying in school. I admire him for that because the same thing has happened to me😅❤.
Am I the only one who fell out of my seat, roaring with laughter; laughing so hard I was crying when I saw this the first time in the theatre?🤣🤣🤣😊🤣🤣😊🤣😊
the way bateman said "yes it is!" sounds like hes very irratated like hes tellin Paul "ugh duh what does it look like to you einstein!? damn i cant wait to do him in!!"....if im right.
I wonder about this scene and what would have happened if Paul Allen loved Huey Lewis and The News more than Patrick does. If it was Paul running about talking excitedly about the band and how Patrick would have reacted.

I love how the only thing that freaks him out of killing Paul, is the fact he has a better apartment . truly great character
Yea
I love how in any video comment section you will always find someone who starts it with “I love how”
So Batman murdered Joker
its also ironic because he was acting like the joker
The Green Goblin investigated
And he looks like two-face when he's got joker's blood on his face.
i get why Bateman is batman.. but did the other guy Paul Allen play the joker?
Sure, the other guy is Jared Leto, who played the Joker in Suicide Squad.
I know Bale is chill and cool, but in this movie and especially this scene, he's like Jim Carrey if he had a mental breakdown and just went nuts
You mean in every jim carrey movie
@@SilentKitsune3 Yeah that too
If?
@@jwm6314 Well...he didn't go nuts yet

that's because through the entire movie you mzse to not know if it's all in his head, or even if he killed the right guy
That’s because he never killed him. It’s all in his head
this is the exact moment Patrick Bateman became the American Psycho
Anyone else think of Jim Carry in the beginning?
I cant belive he has a better youtube name than me. Lets see Paul Allens.
He had the same type of manorism in his voice.
This is just an amazing scene, I can't stop watching it.

Bateman's a narcissist

Patrick should stop buying his cards from Vistaprint

Also, Batman dances. :D
whenever i hear his explosion that he had on the set of Batman I always think how psycho he sounded. I know why he was soo good at this part now.
I'm glad Bateman was played by Christian bale rather than Leonardo DiCaprio, Bale was a better pick for Bateman.
Bateman is better at everything that actually requires acting still. Dicaprio just playing himself in his greatest successes

Jim Carrey let Christian Bale borrow his energy and swag for the day this was shot. Very thoughtful of him
