The Nintendo Game Boy Was Nintendo's Most Important Console - NVC 708

- The Nintendo Game Boy turned 35 years old on April 21, first releasing way back in 1989, the same year as Tim Burton's Batman, Back to the Future II and of course, Super Mario Bros. 3 (in Japan). And in a lot of ways, that underpowered, 1-bit handheld defined what Nintendo was for the next 35 years.

Shout-out to Seth and Damon for consistently making an effort to make their respective shows fun 🙌🏼 it's very appreciated :)
Absolutely legendary talents.
Seth saved the show by mentioning Xenoblade 3. I almost got mad.
Such a perfect Friday evening, comfy couch, AC, ice coffee and NVC!
Loved hearing Jada mention Crosscode. Such a cool game
"it was too hard"
... :/
It's funny that Kat brought up how we haven't gotten something like the Pokéwalker when the Pokéball plus was basically the same thing
The Switch made me miss Street Pass.
It was fun to bring your 3DS someplace (to, yeah - maybe flip open and play for 10 minutes) and see how many other people that you ran into did the same.
Seth continues to kill it
10:34 - I'm with Kat, NES/Famicom SAVED the gaming industry, so it is the MOST important, with GB being 2nd. 👍
Hard to listen to people think it's the GB when the nes saved the industry from the horrible crash
That intro, 🔥 🙏
Seth, thank you for representing the Xenoblade fans 🫡
The NES literally saved the gaming industry as a whole, if it wasn't for the NES nothing else would exist. The Gameboy was just the overall PILLAR for Nintendo as a company.
@seth regarding Game gear, It had a power adapter you could get. You would have to sit within 6 feet of an outlet but unlimited play!
Awesome panel/discussions young crowd 🤘💜 Warms my heart hearing dragon quest 11 being mentioned as well 😊
NVC vs. NWO
Reb’s point about the 3DS is totally valid!!! 24:40
Not even close. The,NES was.if it wasn't for the NES,the gaming industry be history
Honestly, as a kid, my Gameboy made my vacations in the minivan across the country not horrific.
Bless the gameboy.
That is mostly Americans thinking themselves only country in the world. NES specifically saved console market in united states.
@@hododod246 This is true, in the UK the game industry was saved by the BBC Zed Okky Williwag 16 and its hit game Eggy Jamberson's Parasol Cavalcade.
Seth, that silverface receiver is glorious. Definitely will follow on IG.
Also, one of the best console names ever and Nintendo just doesn't reuse it.
@SethMacy saved the day with Xenoblade. Not that none of the others deserve the mention, because they definitely do, but not hearing about Xenoblade being mentioned at all (until Seth) was making me crazy. Definitely one of the best RPGs out there.
Amazing how you dropped the NVC sign and it didn't make a sound
Great episode. My top 3 RPGs on Switch are:
Divinity Original Sin 2
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
17:08 The Game Boy Fallout Edition
Welcome!! 💪🏾
Love the show, great episode as always, but it did frustrate me a bit to have deliberations about must play RPGs on Switch with a panel where no one plays or enjoys Xenoblade 😅
Um
@@CowbopBeBoy look at my reply Seth 😅
I’m surprised NVC has never had the chance to discuss Samus in Fortnite that couldn’t happen.
Not really much to discuss, unfortunately.
@@CowbopBeBoy is NVC against the idea of Samus in Fortnite? Just curious. It would’ve help raise awareness for metroid because of low sales.
@@marsgordeukbut to what audience? Young kids just play fortnight and the people buying the skin are probably already samsus pilled 30 to 40 years.
@@pickettfury supporting a series & a Nintendo character that got outsold by 1 2 Switch & Pikmin 4. There’s nothing wrong branching out metroid to audiences outside of a niche fanbase.
@@marsgordeuk I’m not against it
Sushi is meant to be eaten at room temperature. The rice should be at room temperature as well or slightly warmer. If you want cold rice in sushi, then you're better off getting it at the grocery store bro
Ohhhh yeah. Great episode. The cream truly does rise to the top brothhhhaaaa OH Yeah°
It bc should’ve been called “game people” to be more inclusive
X and Y had performance issues? Never heard that one.
struggling hard with news scarcitiy, huh? It's gonna be a LONG road to Switch 2
The switch 2 doesn't even exist. Its just a name for people to ride and make content off of and to try to impede switch sales.
Octopath Traveler lost all my interest by not having health bars.
It was Nintendo’s worst handheld console needs 4 batteries no color needs lite or you can’t see bad graphics the NES was better
Honestly, it's apples and oranges.
The NES is a home console.
The Game Boy is a handheld console.
It's a rather odd debate in my opinion because of that major difference between the two.
Y'all some pokemon haters
Interesting how the "Pokemon fan" is always negative about the series.
Kat is the female Ryan Scott
