Sega brought the arcade experience home starting with the Mega Drive. The Saturn gave us some almost arcade perfect ports of 2D fighters and finally the Dreamcast brought home some truly arcade perfect ports. For anyone into arcade games, there was no other choice. It wasn’t only the software, the hardware along with logo design was spot on too, Sega design looks cool to this day. To be this good takes ages, to be this good takes….
Thanks for this one. Nintendo kid switched to Sega kid in the 90s over here 😃 😊 😀 😄 😁 😆 😃. We all wish we can go back to some point during those magical days 🎩 . Keep up the blast to the past Sega Lord X 🎮
Wow, I'll watch the video yet for sure, congratulations in advance for the presentation format, and please always keep posting even if you feel like there's no more Sega content eventually, but there always is.Thank you very much, Mr. Lord X, greetings from São Paulo.
Dude I love your channel. I’ve been in love with Sega since I got the Genesis for my birthday in 1993. Right now I’m collecting sega published games for the 360. Happy I came across your channel. Sega Forever
I just came back from a week of vacation in Tokyo, and I explored half the shops and arcades in Akihabara. All the Sega goodness that you could ask for, including some retroarcades with plenty of superscalers. It really made me think of your channel, you guy make me want to start a Sega collection, but 1) everything here is obviously in Japanese, and I don't speak the language, and 2) one day I need to return to my country and I don't want to accumulate too much stuff 😰 Anyway, I love your channel, and wish you the best for this new year 2023.
Love watching your videos. Always gets me hyped to go play some games and feel like I'm sharing an experience. Going back and playing Sega CD and Sega Saturn feels amazing especially these days when everything that comes out feels the same. Such unique and varied experiences.
A+ for giving Comix Zone it's flowers graphically and generally as a standout deserving a sequel. I still revisit this game every couple few months. It's just really good and the presentation is tight all around.
rastan was my jam in the arcades and i purchased it for the master system ..back in the 80's SEGA was so popular in the arcades … Space Harrier by far was my favorite for game play look and sound track .. for black belt i stumbled on a glitch if you hit the reset button at the perfect time on the title screen it would reset and give you unlimited men . i was so pumped to find that as a kid … my master system was one of the snail maze built in consoles..
I got my Saturn with World Series Baseball. It’s the only baseball game I finished a complete 162 game season on… and it only had 4 stadiums to play in. Yankee Stadium, the Astro Dome, Wrigley Field and Fenway. 😅
Interesting video. About 20 years ago someone sold me a handful of Master System games for $-0.99 each. Over the years, I've been trying to buy manuals and cases to make them complete. I've never played the master system and haven't ever owned one. I'm happy to see that many of the ones I got were on this list, even if this were the first time I'd seen them.
I can’t believe you didn’t pick eternal champions challenge from the dark side or whatever it was called as best fighter. No one really played it but I tell you I played the hell out of it and it was one of the most amazing games no one ever played.
Last month i bought a MD2 + CD2 + 32X and Thunderhawk (or Thunderstrike) with it. I was surprised. This is how the CD addon should have been. Plays decent, clear and good soundtrack, full voice acting and cutscenes. Good for a round here and there.
Games like snatcher were also worth having on the megacd The added mode7 scrolling that the megacd was capable of should have been used alot more to bring it up to snes levels and beyond along with the CD audio and larger game capacity Fmv games like road avenger and thunderhawk were definitely great but the console should have been pushing more 3d like games instead of megadrive games with a CD sound track
I would add Rings of power to the good sound track list. Also Super off road to the racing list. I also never knew that NBA hang time was the third NBA jam game in the series. I over looked NBA hang time because I thought it was a different game. I over looked greatest heavyweights. I thought it was just a clone of Evander Hollyfield boxing
When I was growing up , it was a Nintendo household because my late wonderful dad loved Nintendo so naturally I love Nintendo still to this day for over 33 years since 1990.
Loved all these. Well done! (As usual for SLX crafted videos) This is probably a very niche video idea suggestion but would love to see dedicated coverage of artists/ OST composers such as: Masaharu Iwata, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Motoi Sakuraba and others. Amazing talent there!
Sega Genesis held its own against the SNES, even besting it in some ways, but not the SMS. I owned both the NES and SMS and I really regretted asking for the latter. The truth is there were almost no games in North America, what we did get was mostly trash, and the majority of the games today considered as some of the system's best were either foreign exclusives or Genesis ports released after 1989, when most Sega fans and many gamers had already moved on to 16-bit.
I remember a friend of mine used to go around to another mates place just to play phantasy star. he would be on it for hours and never got his own system. I've always wanted to start this game but have never gotten around to it after all these years. Seems like an ideal game to play via steam deck.
I loved Rastan on the master system. I remember faking being sick as a kid just to get to fight the final boss dragon. Phantasy Star was fun, my favorite character was Odin.
My cousin had a Sega Master system I wanted the NES because I love Super Mario Brothers in the arcade. It was definitely the right choice. Master system had the edge on the graphics but not the games.
I was jealous of my Genesis friends when I had NES...then my mom bought one for me on layaway..1990 or so..came with Sonic. I still have the same console and pack in sonic. I absolutely love it...
I'm honestly surprised that you still haven't done reviews on Cyborg Justice and Mystical Fighter - both Sega Genesis' obscure Beat-em-ups. I hope you'll get around to those two.
Sega could come back with a console right now and I’d be first in line. And I’m not even a sega guy. Sega’s consoles were different than the norm and the market needed it. Still does.
Streets of Rage soundtrack gets no love??? What?!?! The music of that franchise is legendary and has gone down as some of the best engineered music in video game history to this day. I demand a recount. Lol!
I am loving your videos, but I can't help but notice a specific lack of Wonderboy 3 The dragons trap appearing in any of your videos regarding graphics sound or best of categories. Have you not had a chance to get into that one? I think it's the best overall game on the system.
To this day, my mates and I still come back to mine after a night out and play Micro Machines Turbo Tournament 4-player on my Megadrive. One of them still reckons it's his favourite game of all time, full stop. I look at current games by comparison and think 'this is the modern world, all tits and arse and no substance'... Great video bud, even if I don't entirely agree with several of your verdicts.

Haha, I know right?
I enjoy and live vicariously through the nostalgia you share with sega.

Dude it is crazy the amount of effort you put into your videos. This is awesome!!!
Wow thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos! Another amazing video!
Thanks for your videos , happy 2023

Man, what I would give to see a new Shining Force. Such a fantastic series. Love those games to pieces.
So would I
Valkria Chronicles, is you game then
I never played the sequels, but I've played the original exactly six times, if memory serves.
@@ThatPrettyBMF Shining Force 2 is the greatest in the series. Definitely worth a go if you haven't played it.
Thank you always for the good videos 💯 Happy New Year ! 😀

Haha he didnt respond 😂😂😂
Happy New Year, Sega Lord! Your channel has been a true gift for a lot of us. Keep em coming 🍻
Happy New Year SegalordX! Another full long year filled with high quality Sega videos from the Master.
Love watching your videos. Always gets me hyped to go play some games and feel like I'm sharing an experience. Going back and playing Sega CD and Sega Saturn feels amazing especially these days when everything that comes out feels the same. Such unique and varied experiences.
Shadow Dancer and Revenge of Shinobi are two of my favourites on the megadrive
Wow you never disappoint SLX. Great start to 2023!
Happy new year "SEGA Lord X"🎉🎉
Oh hell yeah. This is SLX's Avatar. Let's start 2023 with a bang
The one thing you cannot argue with is the quality of your work and research
A+ for giving Comix Zone it's flowers graphically and generally as a standout deserving a sequel. I still revisit this game every couple few months. It's just really good and the presentation is tight all around.
The genesis handles arcade ports of ATARI and Bally/Williams arcade games exceptionally well
rastan was my jam in the arcades and i purchased it for the master system ..back in the 80's SEGA was so popular in the arcades … Space Harrier by far was my favorite for game play look and sound track .. for black belt i stumbled on a glitch if you hit the reset button at the perfect time on the title screen it would reset and give you unlimited men . i was so pumped to find that as a kid … my master system was one of the snail maze built in consoles..
Happy new year Sega Lord X new year same great man keep the greatness coming in 2023 wish we had a game gear and 32x awards

29:57 I spent hours playing tournaments in this game with my brother, cousin and great uncle. Sweet memories and great times.
when it comes to gamingculture, this is one of if not the best video on whole youtube!
Happy New Year SLX!
Clicked just to make sure Shinobi 3 was in this video. Good job. Subbed.
happy 2023 brother!
Happy New Year to all my Gamers
Happy 2023 🎉
YASSSS🙌 WAY TO START 2023!! HAPPY NEW YEAR, MAN!
Goodness almost 3 hours. I would have to break it up into episodes lol.
WOW and Panzer Dragoon looks awesome, with a really beautiful soundtrack!
LFG!
Love you Sega Lord X!
Happy NY SLX! This has been added to my For Sure Watch later list 😜

this is great, thanks
I would probably have switched the rpg picks for the Genesis, but loved this list of games. I loved Sega back then, and rediscovering the love now.
The blast processing here is insane.
Happy New Year man, thanks for all the videos!
Happy New Year Sega Lord X !!!!!!
The batman soundtrack at 53:27 is incredible.
I can’t believe you didn’t pick eternal champions challenge from the dark side or whatever it was called as best fighter. No one really played it but I tell you I played the hell out of it and it was one of the most amazing games no one ever played.
Little bozo this isn't your list

Core Designs were the only developer who did that hardware justice. Not even Sega themselves did anything good with it.
Games like snatcher were also worth having on the megacd
The added mode7 scrolling that the megacd was capable of should have been used alot more to bring it up to snes levels and beyond along with the CD audio and larger game capacity

Me, after nodding and taking notes for 2 hours and 45 mins:
"Wait, how did they steal a satellite??"
happy new year SLX and thanks for the great content
When I was growing up , it was a Nintendo household because my late wonderful dad loved Nintendo so naturally I love Nintendo still to this day for over 33 years since 1990.
Years were kind to you, you had a dad that picked the obvious winner, lol
Happy New Year SLX!!!

Finally completed my Saturn console collection. I now have all versions of the console including the rare Skeleton variants
Nice series of videos. It would be cool to see what your take would be for Best of the Best with some non-Sega systems like Neo Geo and SNES.
Amazing!!! Happy New Year!!
Awesome video!!! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you for making this list

I had a Commodore 64. 8 bit gaming wasn’t the best but it’s all we had 😂
Shining force was one of my favorite, that sound track brings me back
thank you!!!!
This was awesome. Thank you
Sonic 2 best platformer on Master System. It actually pushed the capabilities of the Master System to the limit.
I remember a friend of mine used to go around to another mates place just to play phantasy star. he would be on it for hours and never got his own system. I've always wanted to start this game but have never gotten around to it after all these years. Seems like an ideal game to play via steam deck.
Great Video,! Wonder Boy Series maybe Hidden Teasures too
Awesome video
Thank you
Show me Burning Force for Genesis. Love that game. Some of the greatest music of any game and definitely the best for Genesis.
I loved Rastan on the master system. I remember faking being sick as a kid just to get to fight the final boss dragon. Phantasy Star was fun, my favorite character was Odin.
Very Chill, I love it!
Great video
My cousin had a Sega Master system I wanted the NES because I love Super Mario Brothers in the arcade. It was definitely the right choice. Master system had the edge on the graphics but not the games.
Love videos like that. Thanks.😊
WOWWWWW this Video is a GiFT 🎁 !!
Zillion and Time Soldiers for Sega Master System (run and gun)
I was jealous of my Genesis friends when I had NES...then my mom bought one for me on layaway..1990 or so..came with Sonic. I still have the same console and pack in sonic. I absolutely love it...
I'm honestly surprised that you still haven't done reviews on Cyborg Justice and Mystical Fighter - both Sega Genesis' obscure Beat-em-ups.
I hope you'll get around to those two.
This list is woefully incomplete without the Sega Pico
Hell nah I almost forgot about pico 😂 my brother had one, I was too old for it
Sega could come back with a console right now and I’d be first in line. And I’m not even a sega guy. Sega’s consoles were different than the norm and the market needed it. Still does.
Wimbledon 2 and Tecmo World Cup 93 for the Master System(sports)
If only the US released the same Enduro Racer as they got in Japan. Best motorbike racing game of the 8-bit era, hands down.
"comic zone is your huckleberry!"...lol...nice Tombstone reference
I thought so.
I beat Sunsoft’s Batman on the Genesis while watching the 49ers beat the Seahawks today. It made me think of the guy who runs this channel.
It was a glorious victory.
I recognized Night Birds from Shakatak as your transition music!
Streets of Rage soundtrack gets no love??? What?!?! The music of that franchise is legendary and has gone down as some of the best engineered music in video game history to this day. I demand a recount. Lol!
Great video. We want sega saturn mini
Love this!
I am loving your videos, but I can't help but notice a specific lack of Wonderboy 3 The dragons trap appearing in any of your videos regarding graphics sound or best of categories. Have you not had a chance to get into that one? I think it's the best overall game on the system.
Castle of Illusion was absolutely amazing on Genesis!
Tecmo World Cup '93 is my pick for best sports game on the Master System.
21:44 Nice choice. This is the game that made me realize the Master System was better than the NES. (hardware wise)
Got my popcorn, let's go :)😀
Best racing: Super Hang On
Best Sport: International Superstar Soccer Deluxe
Mi humilde opinión.
Some many memories ❤
That Happy Diwali background..😂😂
Yippee bro !!!
