For everyone that’s on the fence with this one, if you haven’t yet seen it in the flesh and tried it on then I highly recommend you do before writing it off your list. I was the same and thought it looked too boring but on a whim I popped in to my AD and put it on the wrist and that was it I was sold. So much better in person. The thing I like is it’s a Tudor but 90% of people would not know if you were wearing it, very understated. Just a great tool watch as it is supposed to be. PS it does go well the the tattoos

I bought the previous 41mm Heritage and I worried it was too simple, but I also wanted to grab it before the new one was really available and the value of the previous one went up on the secondary market. One thing it shares with my Pelagos is a sort of ruggedness, I don't really feel like I need to worry about it getting scratched up. In fact a few scratches might actually blend with its character. One thing most reviewers don't mention is the boxed crystal, it's really hard to appreciate in pictures and part of the reason it really pops in person and on the wrist! Now, I'm wondering if maybe I should get the new one as well!? 🤔

I am in the camp that loves this watch. I like the simplicity and I like the absence of “modernizing” features like applied markers. I am the collector who wishes he could jump in the time machine and have brand new examples of classics without having to worry about the delicacy of vintage watches. The closer Tudor gets to the originals the happier I am. Give me the aluminum bezels and give me the classic look of the painted hour markers. If they come out with one in 36mm I will absolutely buy it.
That actually does look good with your tattoos. A nice compliment to the aquamarine diver. The Speedy might have the same color scheme, but the dial is busy by comparison.

I've been a big fan of the Explorer for many years and this Ranger brings me back to the 1016. I really like my Ranger. If you see it you might like it?

It's a great value watch with the improved bracelet and in-house movement. I wanted to love it, but hate the lume colour and can't help think 36mm would have been better + maybe an all red seconds hand.
Lume color on this Ranger is not as advertised. Most photos and videos of this watch makes it look really greenish. It looks off-white/cream colored in person. I was saying the same thing you are now until I saw it. When I finally saw it I bought it.

I saw this in the window at an AD and I have to say that it did indeed look boring....I was very disappointed. That said, I didn't try it on my wrist so I would be happy to be proved wrong!

As soon as I tried this on at my AD, I placed an order! I think the clean simple dial with the unique handset makes it a must-have.

I love it! The explorer used to be like this (1016,) but has become very blingy. This captures the simplicity of the 1016, which is magic!

The movement is COSC certified, which means -4/+6 sec/day but Tudor actually promises -2/+4 sec/day when the watch is assembled 👍
