I remember watching him 2 years ago with less than half the subs he has now. I will go ahead and say that he’s has never went below his standards and the content is always S tier. Always trying out new things to tighten up videos, have a better aesthetic, and seamless experience (no abrasive cuts, always adding extra notes if mistakes or better play could have been made, showing cards he mentions because he knows not all his viewers will remember cards verbatim). Never lets us down. As always, great work 👍
YES! I have trouble sleeping at night and when I go to bed I look for his latest upload to enjoy the gameplay and his explanations, if I'm falling asleep I just close my eyes and keep listening to his lovely voice until I pass out. When I wake up I finish watching during breakfast. Haha

1:02:28 wouldn't your opponent not actually gain life off Angel of Destiny, since they're also taking damage? So they'd stay at the same total instead of gaining life with you.
Man, myrad construct with Lithoform Engine and Ozolith is going to be a blast. The colorless stuff in this set isn't very plentiful but what we did get is pretty great.

Seems like there's dimir, selesnya, gruul, and golgari and boros focuses this time around. Is that kind of common for a set to not bring much to certain color sets?
Even Ravnica, the dual color plane, only gave love to half the dual colors in any one set. Typically, the love gets handed out more completely over the next 2-3 sets. We know the dual lands for the other pairings are coming next set which I think is the most important part of giving out love to any one dual color. Edit: For a anyone not paying super close attention, here are the pathway lands (dual color lands) of this set. Dimir (Blue/Black) Gruul (Red/Green) Selesnya (Green/White) Orzhov (Black/White) Izzet (Blue/Red) Boros (Red/White)
@@Bapper0 that makes sense. Well I believe the dual color land sets they gave us matched the themes running here, so I imagine next set will have focus on izzet, rakdos, simic, azorious, and orzhov and come with those matching lands in that case.
I updated my comment with the dual lands that they included in this set. Remember that providing dual lands is only half of the puzzle for a dual color deck, but it plays a crucial part. I personally think izzet and orzhov has a lot of potential in this set for constructed, and golgari won’t. I’m a seasoned golgari player and the lack of a dual land really rustles my jimmies.
@@Bapper0 in limited the 5 I mentioned seem to have a cohesive playstyle and that should be easy enough to translate over to constructed, but I'd agree, golgari seems to be shifting playstyles into the 1/1 counters in this set and feels like maybe it's missing half the picture from old sets. That said, easily abzan counters has got some good baseline this time. Izzet in the limited* set is missing half a deck but if you move into constructed it's VERY strong, basically providing direct improvement to the sprite dragon decks currently dominating standard.
Hey legendvd, I'm a little confused with some of the high ratings you've given after you explained your rating system. Is Phylath really worthy of an S rating? That means it's an absolute bomb and can win games by itself. I mean it's strong but for one thing it doesn't fly, it doesn't remove anything, and if you don't hit landfall for a few turns you just have a vanilla 5/5 green creature for 6 mana plus some chump blockers. Compared to a card like dragonlord artaka, or primeval titan, it really falls short, and to me those are cards that are worthy of an S.
the blockers buy you an enormous amount of time to find lands or more action, 7 0/1s is a nightmare to attack into without flying because you lose all your creatures to optimal blocks while any suboptimal blocks get covered with plant chumps. like, honey mammoth gained 4 life and was pretty good at stabilizing, the elemental gains somewhere around 15-25 virtual life *and* threatens to build more stats
@@ensrceler you make some good points. My biggest concern is whether it can be classified as an absolute S tier bomb. Time will tell ofc but I personally would never under any circumstances take this over some of the S tiers in the set, so along with my above points myself I wouldn't put this in S class
Ok I think you severely underbilled Ruin Crab. It's strictly better than Hedron Crab, which was an absolute firecracker in Zendikar limited. I know times have changed and everything, but bottom line is it's a must-answer 1-drop that some colors can't answer.
Wait a second ... I haven't thought about that. Do you just have to take it out of the sleeve and flip it to the side you're using whenever you reveal it? That's really awkward. Plus in limited if it's a new card to you and you need to check the details of the text before you make a play, you reveal your hand by unsleeving a card to read the other side :/
@@metdickey3237 In limited, you just use a checklist card to avoid revealing your hand. Especially since you usually don't have sleeves during a draft.
In Paper you can use transparent Sleeves for the card and use some cards printed by WotC which are lists where you can check which double card it is. You have the card list in the deck and the card per-se at the side (prob in a box so your opponent doesnt see it. Still a bit annoying, but doable.
@@LegenVD YT player was showing "auto 1080p60" and HD icon and I also forced the YT player to same resolution, but it didn't helped. Now I've investigated further and if you compare card text at [07:25] to a card text at [26:55] there is a clear difference. It looks like some card texts are crisp and some are blurred. More examples that show inconsistency between each card text, shown from a timestamp [55:15] and a few next fast-switched land cards at [56:02]. It can't be only me.. :(

I keep seeing phylath in cobra lists, and I'm like dude. Greenwarden gets you 4 landfall triggers every turn with a fetch in the bin
