Both the southern half of Lower Michigan and the Chicagoland region have long been considered the northern limit of Tornado Alley. So a general rule of thumb is that the farther south you go in Michigan, then the more tornado prone you get.

@@AL4N., although not as deadly, the 1956 Grand Rapids, Michigan F5 is quite significant, too. People want to act like Michigan doesn't get powerful tornadoes or tornado outbreaks... which is just not true.
We’ve been in tornado alley for years actually since 2009 and this isn’t the first tornado in Michigan since then either.

There were four reported tornado touchdowns last night. One in Kalamazoo, one in burmingham, one in Galesburg, and I don’t remember but there was another one too :)
