Known criminal, Chris Watts, was discovered to have a mistress. While Watts was found guilty, very little attention was seemingly directed at his mistress, Nichol Kessinger. I feel that her body language paints us a different picture than many of us saw in the Netflix documentary "American Murder: The Family Next Door." I hope you enjoy this part of the full interrogation analysis.

So do I and I'm someone who is massively frustrated with, and against, the constant barrage of 'she made him do it' rhetoric with male murderers regarding the women in their lives. It's misogynistic. But in this case, something is different. Something is wrong. He's 100% responsible for the murders but she is being deceptive about *something *---none of us know what it could be but it's something.

She never did any interviews, never tried to defend her name, nobody has come forward that has known her (super super close friends or otherwise) not one person whether they think she's a POS or thinks highly of her, not a one person has come forward and said a damn thing about her. Nothing about her past, that I know of, has been revealed, it's all a bad vibe when dealing with her.
This interview is so annoying. They want her to be cooperative without lawyering up so bad that they are completely giving her a pass.

Yes, an interview- not an interrogation. You allow the interviewee to give themselves away as much as possible without pressure. The purpose is for her NOT to end up acquiring a lawyer. A lot of what she chose not to say said a lot more than what she did

At around the 5:20 mark, the detectives are talking about if they need to give NK a spare phone. The guy says: “She has her own spare phone, but when she linked her account, a bunch of messages between her and Chris were recovered on her new phone.” Watch as the guy is saying that. At 5:26, NK goes to reach for her phone as if she has the urge to check what messages were recovered. Almost as soon as she reaches for her phone, she stops herself probably because she realized that would look suspicious. It may have been nothing but that looked suspicious to me 🤷♀️.

I would be crying too! I would be terrified that someone I’m in love could do such a thing and I could’ve been a victim myself. She acting so cool.
She showed no emotion to the horrible crimes that happened. She didn’t give a crap these people died. That’s a huge red flag alone.
She may have a lack of empathy like the murderer she was dating. Maybe that's why they got along so well.
I heard her crying and saying Chris was disgusting. She only knew Chris for a couple of months. I expect she's more angry a man she only knew for a short time is getting her involved in his crazy behaviour.

Seriously! I would be freaking out if I found out the guy I was dating did this! I would also feel extremely guilty because he wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for her! She knew he was married with kids the entire fucking time so even if she had nothing to do with it she is still a piece of shit for hooking up with him knowing that he had a pregnant wife with 2 little girls! It's so heartbreaking. She needs to pay!

@@raquellambropoulos279 i do agree with you generally speaking but I saw in the JCS criminal psychology channel that as Shan's messages and diary entries etc got more suspicious of Chris, the more involved Nichol seemed, the more intense their messages towards each other got and the more serious relationship stuff her internet searches got. Stuff like "husbands leaving wife for mistress" etc. I do think she was fantasizing about chris ditching his family for her. I don't know that she was involved in convincing him to kill his family though.

Anybody who’s watched JCS Criminal Psychology knows that providing a bunch of info that has nothing to do with the question asked is a sign of guilt.

That's not necessarily true. I subscribe to JCS. It depends on context. There are many reasons she might not be 100% honest. Like the fact she was messing around with a married man, a co-worker, a father... Embarrassment, shame, saving face infront of family, feelings of guilt that she might be the reason he did this etc. etc.

She doesn't even seem shocked that her lover murdered his family. I would be devastated, catatonic. I would be dying of guilt and I'd be very very angry and want to confront him. I'd have demanded to speak to him in person and ask him why? I saw another case where a serial killer/rapist was caught, but he wouldn't talk. They brought in his pregnant fiancee who was in shock, devastated, sobbing and very very angry. She confronted him and made him confess........he had ruined both their lives and that of their yet unborn child.

Another RUclipsr analyzed the neighbor's security video and found there was another female at the house in the video. The deceptive nature of Chris and Nicole indicate she was in on it and probably there to help.

@@UnrealTech9403 That video was fake. She was far too cunning to be seen anywhere near his driveway on that morning. And what did she help with? All the incriminating evidence was still in the house when the cops arrived after NAs call to them, and what they saw there made them suspicious. NA said that Shannan would never leave the house without making the beds, but Watts said she didn't always make the beds. Watts said Shannan took the sheets off to wash the airport off them......since when do we smell of an airport? And the incriminating sheet and make up stained pillow cases were found in the kitchen trash. The matching sheet was found by SWs grave......And virtually all serial killers manage to abduct and kill victims with no help whatsoever. So do all family annihilators. They kill their entire families with no help at all. One managed to get 5 dead family members bodies into his station wagon and drove to a forest where he dug a pit and set them all on fire. The fire was still going when firemen arrived, thinking it was a forest fire, And that guy got away with it and has been on the run for 30 years.......

The way Chris was acting seemed like he was protecting Nicole the entire time. My guess is she was there before Shanann got home and the entire story he told is a lie.

I don't know if the audio is from this interview or another, but I heard a tape of her talking about their relationship and when the cops said something like "this is a tragedy" she let out the most manufactured wailing I've ever heard. They found she was looking up information about Shannan and the address to the house. Neighbors also reported seeing a strange truck down the road the night of the murders. And what about sending him lyrics to that metallica song about killing the family. She essentially told him where to put the bodies using those lyrics as code. Sickening.

And I'm quite impressed you're able to figure this out, when trained professional investigators at the CBI had lots of doubt. In fact, the individual responsible for prosecuting the Watts murders said he had "no information" that suggested she was involved in any way. Is this narcissism on your part, or are you really that much smarter than the trained professional men and women of the CBI? Or are you just in love with a murderer and consequently convinced yourself he's innocent? I'm betting on the latter, but also betting you won't admit it.

The phone had so much incriminating evidence on it that's why I believe she was super worried about handing it over.

I've been listening to several interviews (published by the channel "Plunder", and some of her interactions with the male cops come across, to me, as 'flirty'.

I think she relies on her "looks" to get this detective to just follow along with her ABSOLUTE ridiculousness in attempting to mislead him. She is not attractive, she is nothing special. But she has been able to get this guy, to allow her to ramble on for hours about absolutely nothing! Her refusal to even say Shannan's name or the names of the children is quite telling. She deleted her texts because she knows more, much, much more than she let on. She may not have participated directly in the murders, but I believe she may have been an accessory after the fact, or the reason for them. Watts knew she didn't want to be second to his children or have to deal with an ex-wife. I also believe she enjoyed the subsequent phone calls and interviews with this guy. For Pete's sake, she texts him at 2 a.m.!! Who does that???

@@rosenbaum75 they had his confession within days of the murder. They had their man, so why would they look into it more? It would use resources, and well, they had a confession. Cases closed. I urge you to look into her being on the video surveillance more, as I can’t show you the. Idea myself. It is difficult to see with the shitty surveillance video quality, so the cops may not have noticed. In it though, there’s a second figure, and looking closely you can see what looks to be a ponytail, and a over the shoulder, cream color purse. The same purse she showed up to questioning with.
This entire thing just boggles my mind. She claims she wants a family, googles How to marry your mistress, looks at wedding dresses, then the man she allegedly is super in love with murders his pregnant wife and two children and she doesn't seem upset that this person who she supposedly adores had murdered anyone, and doesn't seem upset at the thought of losing him for life, she is more annoyed and tired from doing interviews and having to hand over phone information (I get the latter, especially since she and Chris sexted each other and that would be embarrassing for people to see) but STILL. She and Chris' reactions to the entire thing are just so inhuman and selfish, like, they literally only care about themselves and both seem so bored and annoyed with everything. It's so weird.
I also recall the text she sent to a friend basically saying "It's great he (Chris) cares about his kids I guess." Like. Everything is so so weird.

She had been researching this man and his family the year before he killed them. There is something wrong with her! There is no way she wasn't a part of the murders or knew about them prior.

@@AbbzJordan initially the report did say September 2017, but then the records supervisor at the Frederick Police Dept said it was a typo, but then I'm not sure what the "official" date Nichol started Googling Shannan began. Maybe it says it in the discoveries and I missed it since it's a lot of reading 😂 I see her very first interview with the police was August 16, 2018. So I'm not actually sure when she Google Shannan or possibly where that info came from (again I've read through the discovery but not studied it so there could be that info and I didn't see it)

I would feel guilty as well as be in shock for many reasons, including the fact that it could have easily been me that this person had killed. Her demeanor throughout this whole interrogation feels like just an inconvenience to her.

Stop drawing conclusions based on how you believe someone should act in certain circumstances. Especially when those circumstances are as horrific as this one. Imagine having to process that your lover has just killed their whole family. It is normal to struggle to process deeply traumatic events. Some people cope with trauma by being in denial of the seriousness of what has just happened. That does not mean that they are cold or callous it means that they cannot cope with the reality of the situation. They will eventually reach that point of reality and it will hit them hard.

No it didn’t she was fully investigated and cleared of involvement. There is not a shred of evidence she was involved which is why she has not been charged. They were still investigating this case after he was convicted, they have interviewed him in prison!!! You can clearly see a smaller person exit the garage before him. An almost 2 hour call the night it happened that she "forgets" what they talked about. If CW didn't confess so quickly, I think the detectives would've looked further into NK and her involvement. NK FaceTimed CW the night of Shanann's murder for exactly 111 minutes, but she never revealed to the police what they talked about that night. Instead, she told police that CW was lying on a bare mattress and that was the first time she noticed anything slightly odd that night. (FYI, the sheets were later discovered in the trashcan with make-up, excrement, etc. CW also used the pillow covers to pick up this same "substance." Gross, I know.) Back to the mysterious call, this FaceTime call ended at the same time that Shan'ann was originally supposed to arrive home if the flight wasn’t delayed. This bit is so alarming, and it just doesn't make sense. Given the evidence, he obviously murdered Shanann on the bedsheets, so why does NK remember a bare mattress? What were they discussing around the same time as Shanaan's original arrival? They need to reopen this investigation IMO. Let’s not forget her Google searches, “can cops trace text messages” and “how long do phone companies keep text messages.”

Creators bend over backwards to avoid using these words. Even to the point where a British presenter referred to the people who built the White House as "African-Americans", and totally whitewashed the fact that it was slave labor.

@ubu 9 Well, I agree with you but, in the situation that you are needed to give information to, like in an investigation especially for crimes, I myself would eventually just cooperate, if the detective needed to look at my phone to see my chat logs or anything else, I would let him because.. his intention is to find information only, not to snoop into your "private life", I would pretty much just tell him where the things he'll need such as photos or chat logs of course, not leaving him unmonitored since.. it IS still my phone
Eventually, if you know you are not in fault or involved, you wouldn't even feel worry if the detective even needs to look at your chat logs, well at least for me because I know I am not involved. But for Nichol here.. I don't know, something just seems a little fishy
