When I was a kid, the first thing I associated with a doctor was anatomy. Doctors know about the human body. Simple. It was only when I got to university that I realised that it wasn't quite so simple. Memorising human anatomy was a mammoth visual task. Just memorising the words and knowing what they meant was hard enough. But learning anatomy with just words is ridiculous and inefficient. Instead, I started with visual diagrams and pictures. Then I read the sentences to see if they were a legit description of what I was seeing. Eventually with practice, I could just close my eyes, picture the structures and start describing what I was seeing using my own words. This whole process I got down in 6 weeks using a combination of visualisation and my 3 rapid memorisation techniques. #shorts #anatomy #medicine

that's bullshit , finishing anatomy should mean being able to know the histology , position , blood flow/drainage of an organ , innervation and general functionality . Neuroanatomy by itself will take 6 weeks , if you actually study each part as it should be studied .

@@ZantherStone u can skim through the general stuff , nurse school anatomy is still anatomy . But learning neuroanatomy to an adequate level would take 6 weeks of fully concentration studies . U need to know the organization of the CNS +the histology and nuclei/pathways distribution , the PNS and it's division/innervations , exact pathways of the bigger nerves . Histology of nerves and ganglia , histology of brain and cerebellym , spinal cord and their meninge , the circulatioin of the CSF . + Quite a few other subjects . U might read a key point booklet about the subjects that lets u pass a multiple choice exam ... but u won't no matter how invest finish all of anatomy in 6 weeks . (If what u are talking about is just general organs distribution and their supplies then it's doable but that ain't medschool anatomy)

@@dio1018 I guess I'll have to take your word for it, but I got up at 6AM and went to bed at 1AM pretty much every single day for 6 weeks, 7 days a week (others who did bettr than me only got 3 hours sleep consistently). No time for cooking, working out, full meals, or talking on the phone with loved ones, whatsoever.
We had all the topics you mentioned, though impossible for me to know the depth compared to full med school anatomy as compared to it unless I went through a detailed syllabus I guess.

My personal favorite method is using a whiteboard. I draw out the diagram and color in whatever I need to remember (I am currently learning muscles and bones). I will fill in whatever I know, then look at the diagram, pick one or two to remember, and then switch color and write those down. Once I have gotten all the names without looking at the diagram, I will wait for 5-15 minutes and do it again. I will then review them mentally every morning and night.

If you go for rote memorization, that is really low level but there are still some learnings in there. The person in this shorts is doing higher level of memorization where you need to understand the concepts first, therefore higher retention. Different ways of memorization, but still learning.
