- Without doubt, 2021 has been a rollercoaster of emotions. With the tragic event of Miura passing away, the fate of Berserk had been uncertain. People were and still are divided on whether or not they want to see a continuation to Berserk. Chapter 364 is the latest AND last to have come out of Miura's hands, and it was undeniably one of the most touching and memorable moments to have come out of a manga... and this was probably your reaction.

This was my exact reaction to the chapter. Just let out a soft wtf and sat there staring at the final panel for a solid 5 minutes.

So in conviction of arc, when that apostle ate that moonlight baby (distorted figure) so it can now fuse into Griffiths appearance, vice versa. Basically, it’s way too complicated, whether this was what Griffith wanted or was it mistake which will cause trouble for Griffith.

When I was reading this chapter, I was waiting for the floor to drop out at any moment. Guts cannot have nice things.
I had this pit in my stomach, like I was falling.
And then this last panel happened.
I’m so happy this series ended with Guts getting everything he lost back and Griffith being fucking miserable. Even though it’s not perfect, atleast Griffith is miserable
@@starchygoblin9859 Guts getting everything back? His child just turned into Griffith, robbing him yet of another precious thing. Cause one can't live without the other probably. Guts is eating away his humanity with the Armor, Casca has major PTSD and can't even look at Guts and Griffith is in a literal sense his Child. No he didn't got anything really back, he just lost more. I doubt Griffith is miserable, as he said the emotions are like morning dew, gone in an instant just like this single tear. Griffith just keeps taking from them.
@@gehtdichnichtsan2418 Bro his kid was fucked from the get go. Casca was literally retarded until 10 chapters ago and fucking hated him. Guts’s literally abandoned his humanity 250 chapters ago after the Eclipse, and this last 2 arcs have been about him regaining it. It makes me wonder what series you were reading, like all of this just happened to Guts and he’s just now miserable. His woman is back, and while she’s got PTSD, it’s not nearly as impossible as restoring her fucking sanity. He has a family again. His child was always fucked, literally it came out as a demonic hellspawn. Griffith is very clearly miserable, he sought out Rickert because he wanted Rickert to assuage his guilt. But Rickert instead smacked the piss out of him and rejected him completely. Furthermore, Griffith is an established liar. Him saying his emotions are “gone like the morning dew” is complete bullshit given the fact that he keeps appearing in that child form. Over and over. Hell he said when he was reborn that he held no emotion, and then it was immediately contradicted by the fact that his heart starting beating rapidly when he saw Guts in danger.

The fetus was infused with Evil by Femto, so he could be used as a Vessel of reincarnation. What Griffith didn't expect was the Child having so much "power/energy" that it had at least during Full Moons its own will to manifest in the vicinity of his parents. Thats why it feels like a dream to Griffith.

Imagine what Kentaro Miura he's be doing up in heavens while he's continuing Berserk while us at the bottom cried for this masterpiece.

He's on Heaven playing Idol Master.
Not every story has to end with the MC saving the world and exacting his revenge. I think that living on the isle with his new surrogate family is a much better ending for Guts as a character than mindlessly continuing his warpath to Griffith.
I'm still sad that we lost one of the greatest artists and storytellers of our lifetimes and that we'll never get to see how his masterpiece was intended to end.

If this is truly the end of Berserk then I am more than satisfied.
With that said though, I’m entirely open to the idea of his assistants taking up the mantle if they were given enough to work with before his passing. I don’t personally believe we have anything to lose other than time, only if it’s bad, if we receive more Berserk. I view it very much under the same lense as something like the OG Full Metal Alchemist anime. It caught up to the manga and had to pretty much make everything up as it went along and I think for that show, it did a great job despite some gripes I have with the finished product. Some fans flat out prefer the OG over Brotherhood. Now it isn’t an entirely fair comparison seeing as FMA was eventually completed and adapted into Brotherhood but still. OG FMA took what story was laid and continued to make a compelling enough show that I think pleased most people.
Berserk I think can do that and to even greater success if Mr. Miura left behind enough with his assistants to tell the story he would’ve and complete it in his unfortunate absence. With that all being said too, even if it’s bad or doesn’t feel like true Berserk, the artwork isn’t as detailed or compelling, etc. All sorts of things. Even then. We still have Chapter 364. Like I said above. To me, if it truly ends here. It’s honestly a very fitting end for the series. BUT I would at least like to see an attempt to pass on the baton before we officially conclude this story.

Lowkey I’m glad the series didn’t finish. I don’t have the heart to watch Guts murder his own child to slay Griffith. Griffith got the whole world, and still he lost. Guts lost the whole world, but he still won.
I don’t think the series will end with Guts killing Griffith though

Griffith was a GREAT ruler to Falconia, he looked for prosperity and well-being of everyone, even monsters…
What better way for the “Idea of Evil” to do his job, then to give humanity hope through Giffith, just to take it away through Guts?

Whatever Griffith’s fate maybe, Guts must eventually let go of him and find his own purpose.
What is happening right now in Berserk world is a mirror to the Golden Age arc. After the Eclipse, Guts regressed back to his original self prior to meeting the Band of the Hawk. His vengeance, his hatred towards Griffith is the same as back then during their first duel. Guts did not lose that fight because he lacked skills, but because he had yet to be Griffith’s equal. Guts in the present, even with the Berserker armor, still cannot beat Griffith because he is still chasing after him. Still without his purpose, his own dream.
During their last duel on the snowy hill, Guts beat Griffith. Not with vengeance, not with hatred, but through sheer determination and resolve, to protect his dream and find his own purpose. Guts became Griffith’s equal.
Which leads me to believe that Guts must let go of his beast of darkness, his obsession with Griffith and move on. Only then can he find his purpose and became his equal.
Perhaps it’s just like Skull Knight said, only someone who existed outside of Griffith’s story can make the difference.

I just went back to read it again today and listen to some tunes from the anime. I feel like this was a pretty good chapter to end it all on, I'm happy with this.
there are still a lot of loose threads that i wish to know how they would go, specially Rickert and the time dilation they should be experiencing in the elf island. But it is what it is

Pretty much everything.
Not saying that's exactly what would happen but possible. I had faith that Berserk would be able to end no matter how it did end because of Miura while other anime or manga often flop hard like Tokyo Ghoul or Attack on Titan.
Now there comes a point where it's better to sit there in cryogenic storage rather than to be exposed to the danger of the causality. I'm a bit better with it ending here despite it being a huge cliffhanger because I've seen so many series
There are plenty statues in the world beautiful even while they are incomplete sometimes that's part of the charm, and there's plenty of botched restoration work stories out there. It's not the chance it could be bad I'm more concerned about but maybe we shouldn't be like Griffith and want everything.
@@cameronroy2129 yeah but I think our man Miura must have left at least a script of the following events to the people who worked closely with him and I also think that they know how he wanted to do it. Yes It would not be exactly the same, because only Miura could put so many details and depth in a single panel (which is also the reason behind the fact that it took so long to publish the last chapters). I just want to know how things go with Griffith/Moon Boy and if Casca will be able to fully recover and talk to Guts. Even if it comes out "bad" (which I doubt honestly), it wouldn't ruin or delete the rest of the story.
I would honestly hope they continue the story with any and all notes he may have left behind and at least complete the story he would’ve told. Regardless of it’s quality. Which I would hope would be at the standard Berserk fans deserve and Miura would at least approve of.
Even if it’s something we aren’t necessarily happy with, people can just claim that chapter 364 is the true ending. There isn’t really anything to lose as far as I can see.
I view it kinda under the same lense as the original Full Metal Alchemist anime. Once they caught up to the manga they continued on giving their own creative spin on the story and ultimately what was there is simply an alternative take on FMA’s story and how it could’ve gone and some fans even prefer over the one we got. So I’m willing to see if the right people can take up the baton and finish the story for Miura.
And even if any continuation is a poor attempt to complete his work, then at least this can be a fitting end to the series.

Probably won't happen, berserk as it stands is perfect the way it is and i guess the people in charge are scared of taking over and ruining everything.

Also not 100% confident, I think there is only one Griffith as the moon child was seen travelling during the nights, and Griffith was also missing at some point, or just returning from somewhere, cant remember
Griffith disappears on nights with full moons, it’s shown I believe after the emperor is killed that Griffith literally vanishes as soon as the full moon hits.
