- Something has survived... again! With Colin Trevorrow having recently teased the return of Isla Sorna with a photo from the set of Jurassic World: Dominion, let's take a look at the island itself and what has happened to it since we last saw it in 2001.
In this video we dive deep into the introduction of Site B and what the films and other expanded material has revealed about the island. We also explore the viral websites for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom which revealed what Masrani Global had done with the island since their purchase of InGen back in 1998.

Finally. Someone did it.
They gathered all known information on Isla Sorna and compiled it clearly and concisely. Great work! This video will be my reference from now on.
and the conclusion is "we don't know".
I’d like to go back to Isla Sorna if only just to dig around through the rubble of the embryonics administration building, aviary, and potentially other buildings. Regardless of whether or not there are still dinosaurs, I’m convinced there are still some dark secrets on that island waiting to be uncovered.
Maybe secrets we will never know
Maybe the camp cretaceous show on netflix can reveal something in their upcoming last season, or the dominion DVD extras / the makers thoughts
@@l.p.3876 Like if the genetic research that Dr Wu conducted there that contributed to the creation to the three Dinosaur Hybrids (Scorpius Rex, Indominus, and Indoraptor.).
We never got answers on the amalgam testing
Thorough and well-researched - well done.
11:06 We hope so.
Great summary! I would say it’s safe to assume that the Masrani take over of InGen and what they had planned was kept away from the public past the events of JP3.
Well no in 2001 Masrani and jw didn’t exist. Same as saying the raptor in the crate in jp was being shipped in from Sorna when Sorna didn’t exist is 93
Brad Mull Thats the reality of the filmmaking. Like John Hammond didn’t exist until Crichton wrote the book (which is true) but in the universe of Jurassic John Hammond was born in 1913. So in my comment I’m talking ‘in-universe’.
Terrordome 3000 and this is where the issues start. Retconing after the fact just makes things messy and it isn’t needed. There’s large spans of time in the series where things can fit in. Don’t try to tie it to previous films it dosent work
Brad Mull That is the very nature of sequels. As far as I can tell every single sequel ever made has retconned the previous movie/s.
@@bradmullaerialphotography yeah masrani was alive in 2001 we just didn't know that
WELL DONE! Even if we don't actually end up going back to Sorna in "Dominion," this give me hope that we'll get some kind of final resolution for it, whatever it turns out to be.
nuke it from orbit
@@peabrain6872 What's that supposed to mean?
@@velociraptor4you3291 big bomb dropped on it from space
@@peabrain6872 Why would you say something like that? There’s no evidence that that’s what happened to the island…not yet, anyway.
@@velociraptor4you3291 i was saying they should do that you fool
I see Sorna as still having dinosaurs. There were many dinosaurs, including 6 adult Tyrannosaurs. It’s likely due to the danger of the Sorna raptor Masrani decided not to take any Sorna raptors with them to Nublar.Plus because the island had so many, it’s likely few could be captured.
The real villain in jurassic park, are storms.
Bruh

that's genius
And tech support 😂
Really loving the Lost World game soundtrack in the background. Nice touch Jack! 🙌
Great job, guys. You're not the heroes we deserve, but definitely the ones we need. ❤️
Dominion shows the animals were moved to italy valley then! probably barely anything left on Sorna
The student’s question in JP3 could still make sense even if Masrani’s ownership was public knowledge. Even before Masrani acquired it, Sorna was privately owned. The student probably just assumed governments would step in regardless.
If you have ever watched Camp Cretaceous Isla sorna does get referenced in that episode to how Manticore got the T-Rexes they said they didn't get the T-Rexes the T-Rexes didn't come from Isla nublar they came from Isla sorna we need to see the second island one last time
if you all know this actualy secret
The name sorna was replaced with nublar. when blue was on a car. it was one of those cars the kids from JP were in. You can also see the background as rexys old enclosure.
Good video. I always wondered what information was buried in the Masrani Global and DPG websites, but never had the time to dig into them. Thanks for summing things up.
This question was never answered what a waste of time watching the recent movies. Your videos are awesome!
Excellent video - very clear, concise, and well researched - great job!
Man I loved the second and third film, I was hoping Fallen Kingdom took some time to chill in the island but it barely had anything on it and then went boom taking the Brachiosarus from us, I still haven't forgotten.
Great video, I like this format of video much more than hour+ podcasts personally, but keep up the good work either way!
Awesome research into this! 👍👍 Thank you for this. I've been wondering what happened to Isla Sorna since 2015's JURASSIC WORLD. I don't think we will see the island itself in DOMINION, but I have a feeling that we will at least get several mentions of it.

Sorna is the original factory floor so likely there is still useful things to be pulled from it with the Lockwood Manor no more as the place was trashed by events in Fallen Kingdom. If there was to be dinosaur survivors definitely the Compies otherwise if there are eggs that were overlooked and may have survived then likely Dinosaurs are still there but hard to say.
Hammond: And of course we have, site B.
Malcom: Site B? How many of these are there.
Hammond: *Uhh.. How many letters are in the alphabet?*
Even though we're getting Jurassic World: Dominion very soon, I would really want a spinoff solo film showing Isla Sorna before JW and after JP3. Maybe the film would focus on the dinosaurs like a documentary, but Junior (as an adult) looking around for the Spino to avenge his friend

I wonder how much research was done in the Embryonics Lab and Genetics Lab in Isla Sorna………..
More like this please!!!!!
Highly detailed. I cant thank you with comments.

Such a good video, very detailed! Looking forward to what's to follow and excited for the new Jurassic World Domination film... especially since Dr. Allen Grant is back! 🦕🦖❤️❤️❤️❤️

Really awesome
Hope JW3 goes back to the redwood look of TLW
Is everyone excited to see Buck and Doe from TLW returned in Jurassic World Dominion?
So I'm confused. In the present day of Jurassic World: Dominion, are there no more dinosaurs on Isla Sorna? I know Masarani and Biosyn relocated them to other locations, but I just need a simple answer; Are there still dinosaurs on Isla Sorna?
Isla Sorna should have the remaining Raptor Population…… so Yes, and maybe no. Poachers could’ve killed most of the dinosaurs still living there.
@@voyagingwithvincent1994 might be or not. remember what Ian malcom say "life uh finds a way"
I hope that at the end of JW: Dominion the animals are moved to Site B and we finally get a re-match with the T-Rex and Spinosaur as like a post credits scene.
I just noticed that the opening shot where they are flying to side b looks just like where they were flying to the helipad in Isla new bar I know they're both the same spots in real life in Hawaii but that's pretty big in continuity
Hammond said Isla nublar was for the tourists and B was the main place. I never knew they had created creatures at B after site A had collapsed
I really want to see what happened to the Rex family and the spino
And Ceratosaurus , Pteranodons , tiger striped raptors & feathered raptors too .
Jurassic Park 2 also had a bit of jungle in it so the different biome theorie makes sense
If Sorna is abandoned and restricted then what happens to the Spinosauraus Ceratosaurus , Pteranodons (which were in birds cage in JP-3) , tiger striped raptors(from Lost World) and T-Rex family (from Lost World) ? What happened to them .
My guess is, InGen’s Vic took care of the fleeing pteranodons shortly after JP3, and most Raptors were transferred to a surviving quarantine pen in Isla Nublar, until one killed an intern. The Spinosaurus and Ceratosaurus were transferred to Nublar before the opening of Jurassic World.
You just had to fact-check the "social media influencers." haha. Great job, guys!
It’s a shame that the creators of this franchise don’t care nearly as much as the fans
True
I would absolutely love to see Sorna again & the spino. Site B was always my generations Jurassic Park in a sort of way. I wish there was more mention to it in the world films but maybe in JW3 🤞
Maybe the reason for the differences of the looks of the dinosaurs is a much less complicated reason: the people making Jurassic World just picked and chose which dinosaur models they liked and didn’t really care whether it made sense in continuity. And when dealing with fictional creatures every director likes to put their own stamp on it visually.
Take the Godzilla 2019 model vs the 2014 model. It’s different. But not because of any in-universe reason - the director said he just wanted to put his own stamp on the him and thought the spikes from the original Japanese Godzilla looked better.
These things are often just thrown in there by directors who likely have never micro-analyzed the films anywhere near as much as die hard fans. The changes are just aesthetic and because new technology, better texturing and tone mapping, sub-surface scattering, etc…they give the ability to do visually things earlier movies couldn’t.
One of the reasons Jurassic Park 3 had a totally different aseptic in terms of foliage, dinosaurs, etc. was originally it was going to be not on site b but on an entirely new island called site c. You can look it up, there was promotional stuff for it and they made some toys with the site c logo. JP3 was in developmental hell and eventually site c got scrapped for site b. The different ecosystems is a way to go around it but this is why it is the way it is.
My theory is that when Isla Nublars volcano erupted, parts of Isla Sorna were flooded, but not only that, it is possible that there's a volcano on Isla Sorna as well, and that it too erupted.
well Isla Nublar isnt that close to isla sorna as is like isla tacano or isla pena
Welp, no closure for Isla Sorna... Really a missed chance
It would be awesome to see how isla sorna is in jurassic World dominion. But the question is how isla sorna will be in the movie?
I would use Sorna as a hunting ground for really rich people. Like a whole 21st century new Africa.
I miss The island. I hope Spinos doing okay in Mantah island. I want to know more about the amalgam testing.
in my head canon everything after camp cretaceous season 2 is soft canon meaning it isn't real but is based off canon, I mean dino controlled by xbox controllers and robot dogs?
@@AxoIotIVR Its confirmed to be canon.
@@Rexred09 I know, thats why i said MY head canon
I still don't understand who is the extension of Isla Sorna is it spino or the disease or both?
What if John Hammond built Jurassic Park not on Isla Nublar but Isla Sorna? Can someone pls do a video on this topic
I feel like progress of tech happened quicker in the Jurassic universe, there're full holograms and everything, so maybe the social media boom happened earlier too
i hope the next the movie takes pace there
Guess the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind with the metal container. The design was relevant back in 90's and is still relevant in Fallen Kingdom.
This video makes me hot for Sorna...
I could understand why the lysine contingency didn’t work on Isla Nublar considering that at least partial parts of the telltale game are canon, with Dr Sorkin reversing it by putting the antidote in the water supply, but I cannot for the life of me understand why the dinosaurs on isla sorna didn’t die off
The herbivores on sorna eat plants like Papaya etc which contain lysine and carnivores eat herbivores as Sarah harding sayd in jp2
Glad to see your ok. At least it's not Isla Sorna.
i've always been of the mind that the second Indominus wasn't killed but moved to sorna.
To be honest, Isla Nublar looks like a smaller version of South America and Isla Sorna looks like a messed up version of Australia
it remained largely protected as a preserve by treaty as seen at the end of Jurassic Park The Lost world i assume, i really doubt the UN would allow it to be exploited because of prior incidents, Jurassic World was created on Isle Nublar over the site of Jurassic Park, the lost world has a perfect ending with Hammond's monologue and the last shot of the island and the life finding a way there
If this happened in real life damn this is gonna be bad!!!!!!!!,, MABYE
I would love to have that book about young Claire...
No Claire sucks and is one of the worst new characters next to that try hard lesbians and raptor trainer starlord
I think they will try take some of the dinosaurs to Isla sorna
To keep things consistent with the new lore from the DPG and the Evolution of Clair book I think it probably would be better off if Sorna is completely abandoned and now void of life since most of the dinosaurs got transferred to Nublar
I’m sure the spino is still there alive. You know, because it can fish n all.
No the website says it isn’t
BlueBraviary and where exactly?
@@cloudmonkey7716 the spinosaurus in jp3 was a apex predators in reality spinosaurus eats fish
@@cloudmonkey7716 the spinosaurs that live on isla sorna that’s unknown we don’t know if he alive or dead oh and the jp3 spinosaurs is now 22 years old
I thought they use Isla Sorna to create Jurassic World
Maybe they will try and gather up all the Dinosaurs on the mainland and then take them and put them on isla sorna?
I think they will build paddocks on sorna
RUclips and some other social media were started sooner in JP verse
You didn't answer what happened to Isle Sorna at?
So if they left isla sorna abandoned why didnt the two trex and baby show up in jurassic world?
Life um finds a way
I wonder if sorna takes place at Jurassic Park
No
A rated R horror film that dealt with the scientists who returned to Isla Sorna to illegally clone new species would be amazing. There's nothing stating that ALL those scientists returned from that trip...and I can't imagine they were able to arrive on that island, do their thing, and leave without a hitch. Even if the DPG documents stated as such, it would be easy to say Ingen covered up how that actually went down. That InGen factory in JP3 gives me the creeps, and has a perfect horror vibe to it
Spinosaurous Hybrid in Dominion thoughts?
It’s confirmed there will be no hybrids in dominion and the Jurassic park 3 Spinosaurus wasn’t confirmed to be a hybrid but it was illegally modified which why it wasn’t on ingen list
Fallen Kingdom; Blue is the last member of her species.
Me; What? I mean, I know what happens to the pack in Jurassic World but what of Site B? The island where the OG Dinosaurs were created and raised before moving to the park. The island where Eddie died trying to save his friends. The Island where Grant was stuck with the worst family of the franchise. The island where Raptors roam free?! Did you go to the island and capture/steal some dinosaurs?
All animals died on sorna by poachers massrani rescued the surviving ones
@@creativenamesmth Well that seems lazy.
My Theory: The bigger dinosaurs like the trikes or brachiosaurs didn’t make it but animals like the compies or the spino could of made it.
I think Wi will return to Sorna for don’t know maybe Spinosaurus
I found Isla Nublar In Isla Sorna
Over Jurassic Park And Jurassic World In SITE-B
"Isle De Coco" over Jurassic world and jurassic park
Over Africa "Isla Nublar" over Coco island "Isla Sorna"
The spinosauras kill T Rex see in film Jurassic Park 3
I would rebuild buildings on isla sorna and close off some of the the island with protection fences so researchers to study the dinosaurs in safety like camp cretaceous with that famous scientists the campers found studying the dinos emotions
I HOPE SO I LIKE ISLA SORNA
Isla sornas in jurassic world dominion. I cant tell tlyou how i know.
Yeah some news !
The new trilogy really lost the magic of the earlier trilogy.
It sunk.
I’m confused.. so this isn’t a real island and project??
This is all the plot of the Jurassic park/world movies???
Yes
when your stuck in class but you wan to watch the video
why didn't they just use birds to fill in the gaps in the DNA because birds are extremely close relatives to all dinosaurs that is because birds are dinosaurus
How do you know that they didn’t??
Spinosaurus: U suck T Rex! Your arms r pretty useless too!
T Rex: Well at least I wasn’t a mistake like u
(Spinosaurus proceeds to break T Rex’s neck)
Are there any dinosaurs
Not anymore
Hopefully we can see a Male T Rex
The rex family
Ugh, I hope they address this plot-hole properly. My brothers are tired of me making theories every time we watch the movies lol.
Isla sorna was way more terrifying than isla nublar
That looks like cocos island
i saw Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous season 1-3 in only 3 days. (3 nights specificaly) I like the fast pased stuff. Which is why i like Mc. Donalds. 😎 can't wait for season 4. 😄 i was high af. When i saw all of season 2. Truly a unique thrilling experince unlike any i've ever experienced. It was a frightning adventure. Yet satisfying. I bought a dvd with all 3 seasons burned into it. It only cost me 15 pesos which is like 75 cents in U.S.A. yeap, for less than a dollar i saw all 3 seasons. In 3 nights. ahh... clone dvds are the best. 😁 The advantage of living in mexico. 😎 can't wait for season 4 😄
I hope we will see more of isla sorna maybe in dominion or it could be isla muerta (when u unlock muerta in jwe ian malcom says it's site c, so maybe we will see muerta in dominion. ( AS NUBLAR IS GONE)
Site B makes no sense. Dinosaurs were bred on Isla Nublar so to say it was the factory floor is rubbish because it’s never mentioned in the first novel or film. It was convenient by Crichton to invent a new island just to create a sequel novel but it offers no reasonable explanation for Site B
I know isn’t the storyline so great
First
That's just it though. Nothing happened to Isla Sorna all the dinosaurs perfectly coexisted with each other and filled out their roles. Now, you could say the Sorna Raptors impacted the ecosystem more after the Spinosaurus hunted down presumably the last Rex on island (look at what we got with the original Raptors vs Spino script). But thanks to a retcon and the incompetence of JP3 and JW's own production crew(s), in terms of scripting and decision choices, it is safe to say that Sorna's ecosystem during JP3 was still stabilized as it was before in TLW as most of illegals animals listed hardly disrupted any habitats (that's however if you want to believe the Spinosaurus is dead.)
i think there atleast 2 3 t rexes beacuse there are 6 t rex so make sense
Isla sorna was originally home to 6 Tyrannosaurus rex but we don’t know how many trex are living in site B today but we know that there are males and females are they are literally breeding which is a good thing
