The outages are REALLY starting to get old. They’ve been having these outages on and off frequently for more than just the last two days. More like the last two months. Though the previous outages weren’t caused by Minecraft itself (outages with Xbox Live) they still managed to lock everyone out of the game, and Microsoft REALLY needs to get their act together.
They're getting REALLY ballsy for a code that takes people a week to make a copy of. I cannot wait for the community made version of mc. I'm unsubscribing from the realms until this is fixed too.
Fix one problem, several more appear. I kinda want to get an insider's knowledge on what happened because Microsoft would not want Marketplace to be unusable at all so this is even more serious now in their eyes.
Literally like 4 people actually like the Marketplace. They should've ran it by the community before they first introduced it. Even then, it should've stayed on mobile. I play on console, and seeing Java Edition for Consoles being swapped out for an inferior version sucked. We wouldn't have these issues if the Marketplace never existed.

Truth be told I had no idea this many people used Realms. I always assumed that if someone wanted to play with their friends they could just run a server themselves for free. Then again I've never even touched Bedrock Edition (or grass) so I can only imagine how painful that whole setup must be.
I don't know who uses realms either. They're expensive and you don't even get console or FTP access like you'd get on a literal $1/mo Chinese datacenter VPS. And that Chinese VPS would have the same performance as whatever low spec Azure instances they run Realms on.
I used to be a bedrock player! (Switched to java and never looked back, hahah! Combat is a NIGHTMARE on bedrock) I may not be an expert, but I’m pretty sure the only other way to play with other people is to invite friends to your world. They are unable to access the world UNLESS you’re online. With realms, however, your friends can access it while you’re offline. I don’t think there is ANY other way to play with friends on bedrock! I could be wrong, but google seems to imply that too.
Convenience is worth $1 per person. Setting up your own server for the first time is a 3 hour commitment bound to have problems each update that you need to troubleshoot for multiple more hours each time. A realm cost $1 per person and always works (well apparently not always lol). Same idea as piracy, yeah it's free to be a pirate but you pay with your time.
I literally setup my account to use "Unmojang" and a personal server after the last outage. Best decision I ever made, all my stuff works because it doesn't require mojangs servers to be up, and it still has the same security as a regular microsoft account

It kinda reminds me of that Microsoft outage not too long ago that didn't even let you get on to the launcher. There's something I want to try with my controller, but can't since it's just broken. Then there's also the online services constantly going out, and their own website even says that every service is running normal when things are completely broken. I wonder if some things are still to do with that massive Crowdstrike outage a month ago, but there's still a bunch of Microsoft things that have been broken since long before then.
Honestly it sounds like they should just re-release the version before 1.21.20 and hopefully can roll back the issue while they work on resolving it internally for the future updates.

I can't open the Microsoft Launcher at all, because it thinks my account isn't in possession of a valid Minecraft-Subscription, but if I use the old minecraft Launcher which is connected to the same Microsoft account, everything works fine... The server I ran on my ancient windows vista laptop was more reliable than realms At least until it started overheating and blue screening constantly lol If I put it in a refrigerator it would have been fine though

@nametheocmaker I'm jealous I've had bugs where I'd fall through the world items in chests /inventory would be deleted and so many other bugs (those two have been squished long ago) but the number of bugs I've came across made me give up survival as I didn't want to put in hours of work to lose it by an outside force out of my control.
That's because bedrock operates differently than java. While java uses actual single player worlds that are hosted on your system, bedrock opens a server that is hosted by Mojang, even though it is still a single player world. That's why it's so easy for anyone to join no matter where they are, rather than being on the same wifi like with java. Also, that's why pausing your game doesn't actually pause time within your game, as it's an online private server.
Java is a far better minecraft experience and you can stay on older versions without the need of a third party launcher which I would reccomend anyway, plus server hosts are way cheaper than realms

I tried updating my computer last night because I needed to, but when I scanned for updates, it didn't show any after 40 minutes. i dont know if you've seen this, but they changed the way locator maps work (at least on bedrock) and you can no longer see where you are in relation to the map, it only shows your location on the map... cost me a death and a LOT of iron and resources :/

Don't even setup a server. Setup a vpn and open to lan and share your mod pack imo is much easier

I can't open the Microsoft Launcher at all, because it thinks my account isn't in possession of a valid Minecraft-Subscription, but if I use the old minecraft Launcher which is connected to the same Microsoft account, everything works fine... I thought I'd share this as well, it's also happening since a few weeks and isn't fixed.

The server I ran on my ancient windows vista laptop was more reliable than realms

@@DogsRNice I mean that is 1 server, Realms uses hundreds if not thousands of servers, so even at peak efficiency, it can take a while to fix certain problems
They're also not crappy Vista laptops that need to be put in the fridge to not overheat

@nametheocmaker I'm jealous I've had bugs where I'd fall through the world items in chests /inventory would be deleted and so many other bugs (those two have been squished long ago) but the number of bugs I've came across made me give up survival as I didn't want to put in hours of work to lose it by an outside force out of my control.

That's because bedrock operates differently than java. While java uses actual single player worlds that are hosted on your system, bedrock opens a server that is hosted by Mojang, even though it is still a single player world. That's why it's so easy for anyone to join no matter where they are, rather than being on the same wifi like with java. Also, that's why pausing your game doesn't actually pause time within your game, as it's an online private server.

Java is a far better minecraft experience and you can stay on older versions without the need of a third party launcher which I would reccomend anyway, plus server hosts are way cheaper than realms
And nearly all mods/datapacks are free.

i dont know if you've seen this, but they changed the way locator maps work (at least on bedrock) and you can no longer see where you are in relation to the map, it only shows your location on the map... cost me a death and a LOT of iron and resources :/
