Will this work with muscle/tendon pain on the upper forearm? My pain is at the top and near where the elbow flexes. My guess, after research, is flexor carpi pain. Any information is greatly appreciated.
I suffer from compartment syndrome on the side of my forearms (the side my pinky fingers are on), will the taping shown in the video work for this or do I apply the tape at a different location on my arm where the pain is mainly located?
I get arm pump (compartment syndrome) while racing - should I apply this tape before I ride to help mitigate it, or should I only use it afterwards for post-session recovery?
I have a pain exactly in the middle of the forearm (the same where the girl has a star in the video), when I do a supination movement, I´m a porfesional guitarist. Could this be indicated for me?
I race motocross and I have a sad death grip on my bike which gives me quite a bit of "arm pump" would this type of tape set up be best in words, I know I have seen a few other ways to set it up on my forearm. What would you say?
This technique was actually show to me by a professional motorcyclist (speedway I think) and she said the physio did this for all of them before races.....worth a try....
My job really over uses my left arm, (assembly worker). when I wake up in the morning, it hurts to bend my wrist forwards and backward and swollen. After a couple hours with a bit a stretching and some Motrin. I get some flexibility back. However, I'm a musician (guitarist) of 22 years and I have lost 90% of my stamina and dexterity in my playing and sometimes when I play certain things I can feel a slight "clicking" in my hand or finger. Can you give me some advice? I can't give up my music, I just can't. That's not an option for me. Thanks.
I've had ulnar shortening with plate to rejoin the ulna. Following 18 months, I still have extensive pain after tennis. I currently wear a compression band. I am going to try taping per your forearm video, although that isn't where my pain is, I am willing to try this to support my forearm muscles. Please let me know if there is a better way to tape for support over the ulnar area. Thank you.
I dont personally tape if there is a fracture present and the patient generally has a plaster on...however, if the fracture has repaired and there is some residual swelling present then KTape would be an effective protocol to reduce the swelling. Hope that helps, regards JG
There must be a reason for the swelling - it might be an issue with your shoulder that is not allowing the fluid to drain back unless you have a compartment syndrome in the forearm. Try the taping as might help and some anti-inflammatory medication and ice. Good luck, JG
Is compartment syndrome the same as intersection syndrome? I have a pump about 2 inches above my wrist. If I put my right hand on that area and move my wrist i feel the friction of what feels the way a creeky door sounds. Should I tape this way and also ice and stretch?
they are different syndromes and it sound like you have intersection syndrome - common in rowers. I have a KTape technique on youtube so search for me and technique. Regards JG
my aunt has pitting edema over her right forearm (all over but mostly on the flexor side)from 2 years now, her hand is not swollen though also her muscle strength is the same as the normal side. grip strength is adequate. she complains of pain only when she does excess of work with the affected hand , otherwise her only complain is the swelling. doctors told it is RSD however she had no pain from the beginning. what could this be ? and what should be done to relief the edema ??
I have a swollen left forearm, It was since forever but I only notice it when I was 4 grade and idk it doesn't even hurt but I feel something whenever I see a forearm being touch
Thats not normal to have a swollen forearm so maybe get it checked as swelling causes pressure and pressure can cause pain so there must be a reason why its there, regards JG
+RoyalCaoCao Its not a nice condition but some people will present with it especially in the lower legs as less rare in the forearms. Hope you found some information on google.
I was getting pain when the tendons were stretched out, this helped relieve it thank you
Thats great, regards JG

I broke both bones in my forearm ulna and radius(distal fractures) .Is this appropriate for fracture repair ?
Once the bones have healed you can use the tape for any residual swelling that might be present. regards JG

John Gibbons thanks 👍🏻
I'm wondering if this kind of taping will help with forearm splints? I can't seem to find any taping to help my problem.
This will help and at least it is worth a try!
I have swelling in that same area but no pain the dr has no idea what it is

also her ROM of the affected hand is full and painfree (all joints), why the swelling then ? doctors can't diagnose it.

+Sean717 As a test goes i agree it is not very nice....
