I stayed in both Park Hyatt and Hyatt Regency in September. Compared with PH, Regency is surely old and plain, but still comfortable. I was upgraded to next level room with good view over the Shinjuku Park (?) . I tried Tapayaki in the hotel, and the taste is average but kind of expensive. It still takes some time to walk to the metro station. Oh, the 7/11 continence store on B1 is quite good.

I’ll be in this hotel this coming friday, for a 15k points redemption, not bad…but I’m just staying 1 night, as my trip will continue on the hakone, then osaka…

I believe there is a convenience store on the basement level. Maybe not a cool cafe but you should be able to find chain coffee shops easily near the hotel.

I guess the rooms I have stayed in over the years are upgraded rooms because they look WAY more modern than that.

I'm always happy with Hyatt, but our room was a bit disappointing.
