Luke, What would be the correct setup ( in the nano config.json file ) , to be able to monitor each of my miner to a verusbox local server? I tried finding some video, but couldn’t find exactly how to do it. Can someone provide more info? ( what is the line i need to add in the nano config.json file )
I bought an Orbic Joy about a month ago to test because I liked the specs and the price was cheap. It was hitting between 4 and 5 right out of the box with no tweaks. Thought I should buy some more but all the suppliers I had found are out of stock. And now I know why.
Great video. Couple of questions: 1) Do we need a motherboard for this setup or it's not necessary? 2) How come you used a PSU? Did you just want to avoid all the cabling that came with plugging in individual cables for a thousand phones I guess? 3) How are you able to have 1000 phones on your network? There's no network congestion?
Amazing questions. 1) No, but it makes life easier for management via computer. 2) PSU is becuase I remove the batteries on the phones. Phones need some sort of power(safer option than batteries) 3) I have already experienced network congestion. (Still working through it ahaha)
You bought the motherboard at a too high price, look for Samsung S series, Note series clusters with damaged screens, the cost will be cheaper, just need 1 screen to assemble all, phone box you should buy the motherboard green circuit because the white circuit board is quite thin and the design is too tight with no ventilation to dissipate heat from the blue circuit board. Where I live, I buy 10usd/1 S and Note series ss, the green circuit board costs 45usd, 1 A little advice for you :) Since I have the same passion as me, I'm a phone repairman, hope it's useful
Your video made me consider to make my own phone farm. I found Samsung a5 (2017) going for 15-30$ in my area. I'm not sure about the performance, so an educated guess that it would perform similar to a03s. The problem is that where i live electricity is 0.24kWh and that's not ideal. Should i make a Phone Farm?
that would all depend on the hashrate those phones I get if they get around the same as a A03. That would be 4.8mH. From there go to a mining calculator website for Verus and put in that hash rate at your Electric cost and I would estimate the phone to use no more than 5w

@@LukeWrightMain Sorry to bother you, but have you found out anything regarding this?
@@jasonhernandez2242 yeah it’s quite different, there’s gonna be positive, negative and a data pin. Essentially you’ll need to find out for your make and model which is which. And solder the power directly to it from there. (There’s a few videos I saw on RUclips, if you search up running Android without battery, you will want to look for stuff older than 2021 ish.)
so you don't need wifi it gets the internet through otg?i have a bunch of these phones would be cool to put them all in a box.
Not in this case you do need wifi. I believe there is some boards that might have ether net connection. I just havnt come across any yet.
The case does work very well tho aside from that. If you have questions feel free to reach out to me on Twitter. It’s in my description of the video :)
Awesome video man !
Thanks Sam!
Where did you find them? I was getting in bulk of ten Orbic joys at a time but that well dried up about a month ago. I’ve got just over 200 but just getting into farming.
I had a friend who worked at a Verizon store who hooked me up with a bunch of returned phones.
And welcome to the farming game! If you are looking for motherboards and chasis. Feel free to reach out to me on Twitter. I’m able to get those made and sourced at a good price.
I have been looking for more orbics myself personally. But like you said I think everyone found out how cost effective they are and they all dried up. I do have access to get about 200 more if you in the States I can get them shipped. Otherwise I struggle with getting phones with batteries shipped around over seas doesn’t seem to work for me
@@LukeWrightMain I’m building to all of that. Switching from the user friendly app to Termux was quite a big lesson. Have to realize I’m 56 years old. Computers had just really started but there wasn’t any internet when I was growing up. No windows or Linux. Just a screen and a mouse and a game we called OREGON TRAIL. NO GRAPHICS JUST A LINE TO SHOW PROGRESS FROM RIGHT TO LEFT OF SCREEN
Was just using example of my lack of coding skills or whatever. But yeah I’ll definately get at you. Anyone who helps me out I got no problem clicking through n their referral links or setting up an extra nine or two to mine to their wallet as thanks.
For me it’s I’m bored af so learning all of this. eBay had the Orbic joys u locked for 30 dollars for a while as well as could buy in bulk of ten r hundred. That offers good Ne now.
@@LukeWrightMain I have literally been stopping at ever Verizon store since that day. Finally today I got a yes. Gonna have to continue on Friday as I ran out of cables and charging stations and fans and my last nerves. Anyway you know rabbit hold. do you get higher hashrate when mining with linux on android rather than the native app? if so, how was the temperature and battery life?
That’s a good question. I would assume it’s definitely lighter on Linux than androids operating system. Although you can really de-bloat Android down to just a few packages anyway.
Temperature in these cases seem to do well with the fans noting has overheating after about a month of full time running.
these also don’t have batteries as I run them from a PSU

Why I'm not getting any rewards from luck pool?
Luck pool could have a lot of miners. So if you only have a little hashrate you might not get rewarded ima sufficient way.
But they still should pay out evenly? I don’t use luckpool personally. I use vipor.

Hey yeah the links always changes since they are individually sellers and you don’t know who to trust on the Chinese market.
If you reach out to me on Twitter (in my description of the video I have my twitter (x) profile link. I’ll be sure to help you sort it!
what is the brand of the phone
These are called “Orbic Joys”
Hi. I bought a chineese tablet, and it doesn't let me download anything except Google play. Have any ideas how to fix that?
Hmm, do you have access to push apks via adb?
@LukeWrightMain didn't try that. But, when I start the tablet it run some code. Later I discovered that there is an app installed that when tablet is started it takes over and rewrite some permissions and whatever. The reason is that there is not much space and it is android 5. But they have 4 cpu with 10 core total. I think it will be a bit faster than 8 core cpus. I want to try see the difference.
@LukeWrightMain It won't help. Because the use of local storage is blocked by unknown reason. I got Userland installed, but it can't download anything. Shows error message and saying network is unavailable while tablet is connected to wifi.

will you sell the set up???
Not with the phones in them, it’s way too hard to source phones. For prices that would be scaleable
I got a question. Will ccminer work on the first version of a android? Works on Android 8.
That’s a question I do not know the answer to. I would say if your device has 8 cores. And is 64bit I believe it will work. But I do not know for sure how Android 8 would affect it.
