Rookie mistake Graham, we've all made em😂.
Honest question now, what's the bar position like, have you altered yours. The ones I've seen look lower and more swept back clip on look?
Yours look higher and wider. Unless it's a trick of the camera 😊

Heli bars fitted Simon, see my video, I have ridden other vfr with original bars on, definitely a sporty position but OK by me, heli bars just help take weight off at low speeds. 👍

@Grahamvfr Thanks for that, I'd definitely consider a vfr 1200 with the heli bar mod fitted. My brother has an unmodded vfr, he says you get no high freq vibration through the bars like an inline 4.
I think you vfr boys might be brain washing me 🤣.
I've even found one at my local bikeshop castle motorcycles that I need to talk to the wife about 👍.

@@simonholmes9153 yes it definitely dosnt buzz like online 4s, but still has its own characterful vibes.
You certainly don't look for 7th gear as you do on inline 4s.

Great story and thanks for sharing. New box looks pristine and I'm sure you'll get a decent paint job done. I understand there are two different size top boxes for the vfr12. Is this the case and do you have a preference and why?
    Thanks,
    Jus

Yea thanks, I got lucky finding a good used one.
Mine is 33 ltre box (bike had full luggage when I bought it), The less common Vfr 1200 GT, came with the larger 45 ltre box, which also I believe has a larger rack. To be honest the 33 ltre is a touch small but I like its neatness.
Thanks again for your interest 😊

@@Grahamvfr Graham, one more question if I may, does your bike have traction control and do you give that much importance? This is a consideration for me as it means I’ve got to be looking at newer bikes. On these machines, I am not scared of a few miles on the clock if they have been looked after but the traction control rules out pre-2012. Wondered what you think.

@@justintante OK, so I did do a quick video on traction control, see link at end of this answer. I like the fact that my vfr has traction control, but when I set out to find a vfr back in 19/20, I didn't think my budget would stretch to a 2012 model onwards, si I was willing to buy a 'non TC' equipped vfr. My priority has always been about how a motorcycle behaves when riding, not when falling over. So like Abs, pleased I have it, but not a deal breaker for me.

@@Grahamvfr Thanks Graham. You've answered my question and 100% agree traction control is there for the unexpected.
