Thank you for explaining what these tools are. I've been getting bids for a gate and all the men have been high-balling it that I decided I'm going to build it myself.
Hi Dave, great video, really nice. One feedback, @ 12:40, the edge of the 2x4 is tore up and doesn’t look great as a final product for the gate, since the owner will be looking at that edge every time he unlatches the strike. but that’s just my opinion. Thank you Dave. -💪
Nice. I like to put some silicone around the hole of the coach screw connecting the hinge timber to the house just incase of any moisture finds its way back there. I've seen masive rot damage on studs from gate bolts.
Hi David as usual a great job from you guys, I'm just halfway through the video, and a little tip if you don't mind, as usual you use very similar if not the exact same materialist as me which is pretty cool as we are probably over 4000 miles away in different countries lol. Anyway when you ate fixing 4x2 or 4x1 to walls especially for gates, I tend to put at least 3-4 bolts, screws or tap cons, and of you put your first 1-1 and half in from either left or right near the top, then stagger the rest as you go down on apposing sides, this will give much more strength and it will stop that tilting that you get once the timber had dried and been fitted for a while, as it stops the timber from cupping, then each time you open or close the gate the weight creates a swing which makes the "cupped" timber roll from side to side on its back. So if you do that it will 100% stop this from ever happening. Hope this is a tip that you find invaluable. Look forward to the next video. None of what I have put above is a criticism by any means, so I hope you don't mind me sharing that with you. He'll I'm an expert but I've learned plenty of tips from you guys, as I once did lay my turf (sod) the brown side up, then I had to paint it green 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Regards, karl
Love the channel! Question brother today just finished the job 6 yards all wheelbarrows. Was a bitch concrete came at 9 am( I know to late it was the only time available). Noticed on one the slabs i had surface cracking has that ever happened to you? On that note it was hot today in texas
@@sherloidbai7064 haha should have. I suspected he'd just won some sort of lottery as he had just bought the property in a good location and was trying to sell brand new Range Rover, Fishing Boat and two Jetskis.
9:11 I’m not overly cautious by any means, but pinning the blade guard open like that is just an accident waiting to happen especially with your foot behind the saw. And it’s totally unnecessary for that cut. It also means that when you put the saw down the blade is exposed and anyone else who picked it up may not be expecting that. Not knocking the video - it’s a tidy gate.
You have a great team! I can't get my guys to wear that cool hat. I sub concrete work and would like very much if you were on MD. If you are planning to come here or one of your guys is coming here to expand your business, let me know.
No music, no loud obnoxious voices. Straight to the point. Finally. Thanks brother man

How much were they trying to charge you?
Thank you! Great timing too! This is next weekend's project for me.

Greg Lee I was thinking the same thing. I’ve made that mistake before when I’m building
It happens
Love watching you professionals you always make it look so easy when it's not.

Is this video the last in the series? It would be great to see a video of the completed project. Thanks!

The owner watches your every move. That would make me nervous.
It can happen.
I had an owner watch me the whole 3 week job every day lol he would park up with a fucking chair.
