Ashley, I like your ingenuity in the absence of instructions. Definitely spray some lubricant in the openings to help with the corrosion. I’ve seen another 35 ton Yardmax owner whose splitter did the opposite and locked in the forward (split) position. He has not rectified his. I wish you well. Merry Christmas to you and your fur baby.

Thanks Mark! I did some more research and even though mine seems to be fixed for now I'm not happy because it's not adjusting like it should. I'll probably work on it more in the spring when it's nicer out. Merry Christmas! 🌲

I just messed one of those up and the new one arrived today,, at least now I know whats inside,, why and how,, the next repairs will be easier now. Mine also has an adjustment to make it give more pressure/breaking power. Nobody knows about these things where I live, so its a case of breaking it to learn 😢 and paying for another 4x the normal price because of scarcity and high import duties

Mine has a zerk fitting, you can grease it... if yours does not, you can always spread some lithium grease on both sides - or simply use wd40 on the whole thing - this will also help with any corrosion you have. Also, check all your fluids.

I wish mine had a zerk fitting! I sprayed it down with PB blaster. I checked the hydraulic fluid level, all good!

Hello. I wreally hope that you do not lose any fingers because of way you use your splitter😬 I think that it might be good idea to keep hands of when cylinder works.
