Holly holding the puppy...that is one of the cutest things I've ever seen! Holly is so incredibly beautiful, and that puppy is adorable. That's pure love there!
I remember the scandal that developed prior to Holly Hallstrom leaving TPIR in 1995. She alleged that Bob Barker and the producers forced her off the show because of a prescription medication she was taking, as it was causing rapid weight gain. The fight between them was intense, to the point where Holly spent all her money on lawyers and had to live in her car. Eventually, she got millions in a settlement. The personable/affable Bob Barker you saw on stage was the complete opposite of what he was in real life and how he treated the models and crew. Apparently the new host of the TPIR Drew Carey is the complete opposite--he is beloved on the show (just like he was on the Drew Carey show). Mr. Carey came from humble beginnings in Cleveland, Ohio, and is incredibly grateful for his success
@@bufnyfan1 Yes, I know all about the lawsuits from research I've done, from reading former "Barker Beauty" Kathleen Bradley's book, and interviewing her. Holly was and will always be my favorite. She was so beautiful, sweet, charming, and so down-to-earth. It's horrible what Barker did to Holly...it was so unfair, disrespectful, and cruel. She deserved so much better. She endured quite an ordeal, that's for sure. I just hope that she is doing well today and is living the best life she can. God Bless her. 😊🙏❤
and yet Bob Barker and the producers treated Holly essentially like dirt--she had to go almost bankrupt and sleep out of her car to win a lawsuit against them
Was always cute how much of a klutz Holly could be with her epic fights with Gibson appliances and right in front of Danial her luggage strap falls apart!
Since last valentine's day these girls give their gifts and flowers there so nice and sweet and valentine's card for the men are sweet to them they give a hug and kiss to me at church last year.
If Holly would have kissed me on the show like that after I brought her flowers I would have not left. Minimal give my phone number and info to someone in the staff and pray for a phone call. No cell phones back then or text so would have been nerve racking. haha.
I agree. No matter what models the Price is Right gets on the show from here on out they'll never be better than the Barkers Beauties of Janice, Diane, Holly, and Kathleen.
Thank you for sharing. I, too, love old episodes of TPIR. Regarding the dates, I also want to politely put forth as helpful information and certainly not criticism (with the acknowledgement that I may be wrong) that it probably wasn't taped on 2-13-88, because 2-13-88 was a Saturday, and I don't think they would have been taping on a weekend.
They would have if they were still observing Lincoln's birthday, which was once a holiday (has since been combined with the holiday of Washington's birthday on the 22nd to form Presidents' Day), and they'd tape a weekend if there was a holiday to stay on schedule.
I think it was taped on 2-9-88 I do believe, as by March 17th a new taping week began. By the time this aired, Frank Wayne was no longer with us (he passed away on March 18th).
Living near Buffalo, I've had Subaru's for the last 23 years, and did I get a laugh out of (1) remembering how ugly the Subaru's used to be, (2) that the car probably disintegrated from the rust if he used it up here, since the early Subaru's were known for premature rusting and (3) a $9000 Subaru??? I just priced a used 22 Forester Wilderness at $37,000. Really sweet seeing Holly with that little puppy; after seeing a recent interview with her, she seems very centered and at-ease after all she went through with those legal matters.
12:04 Holly, to Daniel, "Are you taking a picture? Was he taking a picture?", then answers Bob's question with "I thought he was taking a picture!" LOL At least that's what it looks like to me. ;-)
I think you're right. That's exactly what it sounds like. I think I would've been looking at Holly's legs. 😍😘 I wish they would've had mics on the ladies back then, so we could hear what they said. I would've loved to hear Holly talk. She was so animated and more vocal than the others. I loved her voice and her cute giggle.😊❤
5/3/88 has a different pricing game lineup than what is seen here. 3/21/88 has these three pricing games in that order on the pricing game lineups that can be found in the FAQ at golden-road dawt net. Second half is the long retired Bump, the semi-forgotten short-lived game Add Em up, and Plinko.
Plus on Mondays the first SCSD plug would contain the "Some members of our studio audience will receive" and then the prize before the SCSD begins. That gives you a clue that it's a Monday show. 5/3/1988 would have been the ticket plug.
The models made the show...the appliances are all in the scrap heap now, nothing won on those shows was anything but a riteoff for the company's that donated them... But those models made babies and brought life into this world...that is worth more than a million Bobby's.
That's not really being an ass, so much as playing up the whole rose thing. Something also seen on Theodore Slauson's documentary when he got up on stage. Holly would always continue playing up the show-mance because it's entertaining, and Bob would play the role of "her father" getting them to quit it and move on.
You wonder if bob would have retired in the early nineties and drew took over then the models would of been Miked up and drew would of been rolling laughing at holly mishaps
If you watch the documentary "The Contestant Who Knew too Much" Theodore who did the documentary also had a huge crush on Holly made a T-shirt saying "I'm here to kiss Holly" and on the back it says "Sorry Bob". He, in fact, got on stage, and she gave him a small peck on the cheek at first, then planted a kiss on his lips. Bob was like, "That's enough, you two! I'm running a family show here!"
Congratulations Daniel for winning a kiss from Holly 💖,and your prize.👍👍👍
That was cool Daniel. Holly handled that in a nice way. Even gave you a little kiss on the cheek.
I loved her so much, I would watch the price is right everyday so I could see her. So beautiful 😍
Holly was my all time fav.

With her All American face and form she took the town by storm.
Holly 🌹.
I've always had a crush on Holly, pretty lady!! Hope she is well and happy.
Holly was always my favorite; they puppy was adorable too. Looked like she fell in love in they IUFB.
"Daniel has other things on his mind than your legs, Holly" I would have just spoke into the microphone and been like, "no Mr Barker I really don't"
Fantastic Daniel! You and Holly woulda made a great couple indeed! She's the best, no doubt about it. What a great day you had!
I remember having a crush on her, and still do! LOL

Daniel and Holly would have made a good looking couple.
Was always cute how much of a klutz Holly could be with her epic fights with Gibson appliances and right in front of Danial her luggage strap falls apart!
I never understood why Bob always treated Holly so different than the other two and the way he would talk to her 😢 Holly was a sweetie...
These barker beauties are gorgeous, my crush is Diane.
Since last valentine's day these girls give their gifts and flowers there so nice and sweet and valentine's card for the men are sweet to them they give a hug and kiss to me at church last year.
I loved the Pick-A-Pair carnival wheel
You know Dian was thinking "Where's my rose?" 😆
God, Holly was fine. Helped me through the wonder years.
That lady NAILED that Woody impression. Also, it’s a shame that Drew Carey wasn’t on stage for Holly’s mishaps. He would be in stitches.
Mmmmm... Holly Holly Holly. What more can I say?
Not the first time I've been jealous of puppies.
... and that, kids, is how I met your mother.

Daniel, that was awesome! BTW, I could be wrong, but I did some research, and the OAD was March 21, 1988.
Yep that’s Rod Roddy and NOT Johnny Olson
I miss the the Barker Beauties. They always make the show fun and entertaining.

Considering that the person featured in the video is also the person who posted it, I would think he would know.
Daniel is one lucky son of a gun! He got a kiss from my TPIR crush.😳

I really think you rattled Holly-that was some heavy-duty flirting going on! Hope you got to chat with her after the show. She was terrific!

Daniel U DA MAN!
Oh look, Holly tries to give away a puppy to Daniel. 8:29
I think Holly was flirting with Daniel.
Daniel should have followed up with this and written Holly a letter etc-anything to go out with her-I'm sure she would have considered it
That's from wmbd channel 31 in Peoria.
You lucky ducky! 👍
Wow. Just wow.
Robert (Lucky Seven) is packing some serious meat in those jeans!!!
Does Gibson still make appliances for the US market? I’ve never heard of them before.
Not sure, but a good question.

$1500 for a fridge in 1988
I thought that too!!
12:20 - Bob could really be an ass to the models sometimes
You haven't seen the current batch of 82 83 on Pluto? If Drew pulled this shit, they'd shitcan him immediately
