- [FULL EPISODE] Corvette Sting Ray. I believe this is the first ever Sting Ray on the show. Unfortunately that car didn't get a new home, but the contestant won a different car. This episode was recorded in September but probably air in October.
I'd rather watch old reruns like this than 90% of what's on tv now.
Yeah. Less politics built in.
Lucky for you youtube exists and you can. So no need to repost this on every video from before the year 1999 that you watch.
I wholeheartedly agree
All the game shows today are filled with these fake pregnant pauses, like the game itself isn't near exciting enough so they have to drag every moment out like it's life or death for the entire universe. It's dumb.
Man, 100% of what's on TV! You are so right. Garbage today
I don't know why but I love watching these old shows and I wasn't even born yet
This is crazy...most of those people are long gone. They look so young and full of life. We are just a moment in time.
Do you mean like the old man and Bob barker? Unless something tragic happened, the rest of them are still around.

@everyone wow. Everyone has left such nice comments. Olivia is well. Linnea, her daughter, is well and now 48! Also, Olivia's 12th grandchild is also named Olivia. #15 is on the way. 😊
Glad you all enjoyed this episode
Olivia watched herself on commercials that had a clip of this episode that ran for 10 YEARS until her daughter Linnea was 11 years old! Olivia said it was a clip of curtains opening and the gremlin car.
Does she still have the Gremlin?
I wonder what she did with that gremlin after she got it? Did she keep it for several years and then turn around and sell it? Or did she keep the car for about 10 to 20 years to remember Bob Barker by? And if she really take the car to Las Vegas after she won it?
Good morning Ryan from Brasil! How do you get This amazing vídeo?

i think Speed Queen is the only American made washer and dryers around today.$660 was a lot of money for a set back then.
@@fframer1 It was a hefty coin to drop, but I bet it was built like a tank and no doubt still functional.
We use them at work. They wash 24/7 and take a beating.
@Steve Austin They most definitely still make household washers and dryers. My local appliance store in Columbus,Ga. has some in their showroom. Owner says the agitator models have become popular with people who are tired of the frontloaders not cleaning their clothes.
Yup,nothing is made to last anymore, our small freezer packed it in after only 4 years and now we have to get rid of all the rotten food. Good thing Costco offered a 5 year warranty on it.

As someone who actually went to a PIR show back in the mid 90s, I can tell you this; all of the contestants are chosen before they even enter the actual studio where the show is recorded. Each attendee walks thru a small pathway one at a time where somewhere in between you get stopped and asked a few questions. Based on your answers, they way you talk and your overall appearance, they mark you as "Yes" or "No", then they pick randomly from the list of "Yes". That is probably the only so-called "random" part, if they actually do pick more than the needed number.
Another tidbit to so you can understand how the value of certain things have changed or were back then. I was told by a neighbor at the time, his house, in the early 70s, a 2-story 1800 sqft 3 Bdr/2.5 bath 2-car garage house (in Lake Forest, CA) was around $20K where the same house in current RE market, even despite its age, is worth about $700K. This is particularly interesting because back in 1973, the washing machine in this show @ [2:24] is $660 where it is very comparable to today's prices yet look at the difference in other things.
We die hard The Price is Right fans have known that general information for about the past 48 years. On another note, I'm curious if you know if that house was ever worth more than $700,000 before the bubble burst in 2008.
@@kennymurphy2116 I actually looked it up on Zillow and pretty much every house on that street is low to mid $800K range right now which is insane to say the least but I am not too surprised because this is the second, arguably the bigger bubble we are in right now which is expected to burst soon.
@@Turco949 : Thanks for the info.
@@kennymurphy2116 Sure thing!
I mean, housing prices are definitely not related to the increase due to inflation in most markets. For goods and services like groceries, things cost about 6.5 times what they cost in 1974. (Maybe more now with Bidenflation) Housing markets have gone up way more than that in virtually every city. And then there are the subsidized products like milk. I can actually buy milk for about the same price that I could buy it in the 90s. At least I could have a year ago. And finally, there is the technology factor. Some things that cost a lot less to manufacture, so their price increase is much less than the inflation rate. The washing machine would fall into that category.

It's a film transfer.
i watch the old movies made way back in the 1935-70s. and even in 1935 the sound quality and camera angles were superb. now you have to turn down the volume for a chase scene or commercial. and when things get quiet you have to turn the volume all the way up. the technicians now on the set are not doing their job. all this has been figured out in the 1930s and it should not be a chore or secret. it seems most modern movies have these faults.

I know … I’m 49 years old myself and the problem is that I REMEMBER what life was like back then. Was life perfect? Of course not. But that being said, people were more calm and relaxed and willing to at least listen to other peoples views on anything. Doesn’t mean you have to agree with them.
Now, it seems that all young people want to do is cause mayhem, destruction and strife even though that will NOT accomplish anything at all.
Worse, the people in power will just offer up meaningless policies and actions that will not change anything in order to pacify and patronize the mob. And also hearts will be even more hardened as time goes on and hardly even any progress will take place, if at all.
I pray to The Lord God that life can improve, moving forward. And that there is a greater chance at more peace returning to civilized society.

Imagine, you have the chance to win a 1973 Stingray. And all you get is $1.79
Yes but she won a car she could actually use and afford.
$600 for a washer/dryer in '73?? That was ALOT of money!
the avg. person was probably making @ $15,000.
Great episode . My high school grad. year was 73.I turned 18 in Dec.
I was born in 1970 so I nailed the price on that Corvette
I was born in '63, I nailed it too.
That is a 1974 Vette,1973 Vette has chrome rear type bumper. Like my 1968 Vette I had
Yeah that's a 74 you can just see the roundness of the back plastic bumper with no chrome. Plus the show was Sept 1973 & that would of been the new models coming out in 1974😉
Yep
When he said, "What's your bid on that snowmobile". I thought, "what snowmobile".
I appreciate the broadcast quality copy of the video. The black sections were there for the local TV station to insert commercials before coming back to the show.
Overly-animated Bob, quiet audience, surreal 30 minute (!) episode from the early 70's. Love it!
This is when the price is right was good. Used to watch with my mom.
Now it's just trendy trash. Love I can watch good ole episodes.
I was 27 days old lol.
I was about 8 months old.
Hi almost birthday buddy!!
Now you're 84. Damn
Watching this episode of TPIR is enjoyable.
Seeing the price of the Corvette Stingray is unbelievable.
I have a new 2023 C8 Corvette hardtop convertible on order.
The price is over $ 86 K.
Darn near $80K more than the 1973 Corvette Stingray.
I also have a new C8 Corvette hardtop convertible 2LT on order. My C8 is also $86K plus. ❤ Best of luck to you with your C8
I love watching this, I used to watch The Price is Right in the early 2000's to the early 2010's when I was a young kid, I just love the way the people looked back then.
"teach her how to do the laundry." And not a single soul got offended by that. Miss those times.
Yeah but it's lowkey not cool
Stop. No one is offended by that. Everyone has to do laundry. "tHiS GeNeRaTiOn iS sOfT!" 🙄 stop being lame, boomer
Rocky remind me of Les Nessman from WKRP in Cincinnati!🏆
When he came up with his bow tie I thought the same thing lol
YES!!!! Thats it!! Thank you. Hahaha

My late grandma used to loved that show. I miss her.
My friend bought a 1973 Corvette listed here new for $6432 in 1978 used for 10k . That is how much inflation there was in the 70's
People were still more reserved and well mannered back then.
Bob will always be the most epic host ever. A Legend!
